From 'She Wolf' to 'Hips Don't Lie,' Shakira sizzled on Night 1 in Phoenix

Shakira rarely stopped moving in the course of a crowd-pleasing two-hour concert at PHX Arena on Sunday, June 22, leading her band and dancers in a fast-paced journey through her catalog, from the throbbing house beats of her dance hits to hard-hitting rock en español and tender ballads. The Colombian superstar packed the downtown Phoenix venue (formerly called Footprint Center) for the first of two performances on the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour, named for a breakup album she released in 2024 whose title means Women No Longer Cry. She performs again on Monday, June 23. The choreography was stunning, the spotlight inevitably returning to Shakira's swiveling hips, which as you know if you're at all familiar with her catalog, don't lie. She's an amazing dancer who even engaged in a little belly dancing on "Ojos Así" and some tastefully suggestive pole dancing during "Soltera," dancing with knives on 'Whenever, Wherever.' After treating the crowd to a handful of greatest videos, a better warmup act than most, Shakira made her entrance strutting through the crowd in a shimmering track suit to the end of a platform that cut a swath through the arena, where she and two musician from her backing band performed the dance hit 'La fuerte.' By the second song, 'Girl Like Me,' she had removed the track suit to reveal a glittering minidress and was by two dancers. By the third song, a pulsating medley of 'Las de la intuición' and 'Estoy aquí,' she was leading a team of six dancers. Shakira concert setlist 2025: Songs she sang at PHX Arena in Phoenix Shakira went through countless costume changes as the night went on in an elaborately staged production. She donned a welding mask to work on one of four male dancers dressed as robots in a futuristic scene based on the music to 'Te Felicito.' "Acróstico," performed unplugged and seated at the end of the runway, showed her sons Milan and Sasha joining in the video screen behind the screen, which showed Shakira swimming through the ocean as a mermind on 'Copa Vacía." She performed 'Chantaje' on a live feed from her dressing room, was joined by dancers in colorful costumes in a joyous performance of 'Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)' and brought the concert to a stunning climax with 'She Wolf,' a giant wolf towering over the stage, before closing with one of the biggest hits from "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran," "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53." A series of short videos served as smooth transitions between acts while she was changing costumes. As elaborate as all that staging was, though, nothing played to the back rows more effectively than Shakira, from her sexy dance moves to that magnetic smile the star kept flashing at the cameras. These songs were on Shakira's setlist when her 2025 Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour played downtown Phoenix on Sunday, June 22, for the first show of a two-night stand: Shakira music videos (including 'La Tortura,' 'Chantaje,' 'Puntaria,' 'Pies Delscazos, Sueños Blancos,,' 'Última' and 'Besame.' Shakira, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn concerts at Fenway Park canceled over stage safety failure

In a disappointing turn of events for fans, three major concerts scheduled for this week at Boston's iconic Fenway Park were abruptly canceled due to serious stage safety concerns. Live Nation confirmed that performances by global superstar Shakira, country music heavyweight Jason Aldean, and legendary duo Brooks & Dunn were called off after a routine safety inspection revealed that key structural components of the stage were not up to code. 'All team members are safe,' the event promoter stated, adding that the decision was made to prioritize the safety of performers, crew, and attendees. Shakira was set to launch the 2025 Fenway Concert Series on Thursday night as part of her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" (Women No Longer Cry) tour. Her excitement had been palpable just the day before, when she posted on X about her Boston show, teasing surprise appearances by and Wyclef Jean. Aldean and Brooks & Dunn were scheduled to co-headline Friday night's show. It would have been their first time sharing the Fenway stage. Aldean, who is currently on his "Full Throttle Tour 2025", had called the opportunity to play alongside Brooks & Dunn 'one for the ages.' According to Boston ABC affiliate WCVB, the cancelations were triggered when parts of the stage reportedly collapsed during rehearsals. A subsequent inspection by Boston's Inspectorial Services found the structure to be unsafe for use. Fenway Park and the performers shared statements confirming the cancelations, with refund information provided for ticket holders. Disappointed fans, some of whom had traveled from out of state or even overseas, had already begun arriving at the venue when news broke. 'We just got the news that the concert has been canceled like nine minutes ago,' said a fan from Colombia. Another attendee, attending what would have been their first-ever concert at the age of 63, shared their dismay with local news outlet WBZ. This marks yet another delay for Shakira's fans, some of whom had already rescheduled plans after her earlier tour date shifts. Representatives for the performers and Boston city officials have not yet commented further on the incident. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase.

Shakira brings her she-wolf fierceness to the Toronto stop on her world tour

Shakira 3.5 stars (out of 4) Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, Mon., May 26, 2025 Her career has spanned 30-plus years, and she has the accolades to show for it, though it's been seven years since Shakira embarked on a major tour. But recent events in the Colombian singer's personal life compelled her to release her 12th studio album and return to the stage with her 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' ('Women No Longer Cry') tour, which stopped at Scotiabank Arena on Monday. Involved in a very public breakup with longtime partner Gerard Piqué, in 2023 the singer dropped 'Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,' a viral rap anthem whose lyric 'las mujeres no lloran las mujeres factura' ('women don't cry anymore, they cash in') struck a chord with female fans as a post-heartbreak manifesto. Now, the 'she wolf' is back on stage to reclaim her power and reunite with her pack. For her Toronto show, Shakira performed her most beloved numbers, from '90s deep cuts to recent chart-toppers. It took a bit of warming up to get there, though. After an hour's delay, a CGI Shakira avatar flashed on the video screens as the crowd, dressed in an explosion of leather, leopard skin and belly dance wraps, shrieked. Throughout the night, the avatar would serve to connect the narrative of her healing journey. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW The singer entered the arena fight-night style. Making her way to the stage, she ascended from below on a platform with two deejays, suggesting that we'd just entered Club Shakira. For the first half of the show, she served up the essence of her recent foray into electronic dance music. She came across as a polished pop persona dressed in a shimmering pink outfit, performing perfectly synchronized choreography to such hits as 'TQG' and 'Te Felicito.' Interspersed among them, alt-rock-leaning singles like 'Inevitable' and 'Don't Bother' couldn't help but seem misplaced. The second half picked up momentum as Shakira ventured into her early-aughts material, such as her billion-streaming 'Hips Don't Lie.' Placing her best-known song mid-set felt tactical as it reinvigorated the crowd. Familiar favourites were reimagined with new arrangements: 'Chantaje,' her 2017 duet with Maluma, now had a salsa beat. The remixes allowed the performer to showcase her considerable dance skills; all eyes were on her hypnotic belly dance solos. And no, those hips did not stop moving the entire show. Fake Shakira currency rained down at the Toronto concert's end. Laura Palombi She finished the concert with the breakup anthem that kicked off this new chapter in her career, as a gigantic inflatable wolf was rolled out and loomed over the stage as her protector. As she sang, 'Women don't cry anymore, they cash in,' fake currency with Shakira's face printed on it rained from above. The show closed with a wolf's head superimposed over Shakira's face on the screens, as her healing journey was complete. Let the mighty she wolf howl.

Shakira setlist: All the songs on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour Show Caption Hide Caption Shakira has been 'reborn as a woman' after a difficult two years Pop star Shakira feels as if she has been "reborn as a woman" after splitting from Gerard Pique and releasing her new album 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran'. Bang Showbiz Nearly seven years since her last US tour, Shakira and her famous hips returned with a massive spectacle. Where her last tour played arenas, her already record-breaking Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour (which translates to Women No Longer Cry) is primarily playing stadiums, including her first stop at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina May 13. The show was the first time a Latin female solo performer headlined a stadium gig in the city, and it's one of several to mark that distinction on her 23-date North American run. The tour already circled South America since February and the North Carolina opener was the first time Shakira, 48, hit the stage since a mid-April show in her Colombian homeland. She recently told USA TODAY she was tweaking her setlist and she held to that promise, swapping 'Poem to a Horse' and the combo of 'Ciega, Sordomuda" / "El Jefe' for 'Underneath Your Clothes' and 'Objection (Tango).' Her 13 costume changes included a sheer red bodysuit, a belly-baring two-piece and a short silver dress that she shook while gliding down a lengthy catwalk. While the first US tour date included special appearances from Wyclef Jean and Alejandro Sanz, Shakira has also shared that friend Rauw Alejandro will join her May 16 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, while it's possible Alejandro and Jean will return as well. Here are the songs performed on the first night of her US tour.
