Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training hosts 2025 graduation ceremony
2 July 2025 13:12 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) has hosted the graduation of 1,494 high school students for the academic year 2024–2025 from the Applied Technology Schools in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al special ceremony took place at the ADNEC Centre Abu Highness attended the ceremony and graciously honoured 57 outstanding students, who achieved scores exceeding 98 per cent, in recognition of their academic excellence and scientific Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Applied Technology and Director General of ACTVET, extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his patronage and supportive Shamsi emphasised that this achievement would not have been possible without the continuous support of the wise leadership and their unwavering commitment to empowering youth. He also expressed his pride and deep appreciation in graduating this distinguished group of students, reaffirming the centre's dedication to preparing qualified national generations capable of contributing effectively to the comprehensive development journey underway across the UAE's vital ceremony featured a video presentation in which students reflected on their academic journey at the Applied Technology Schools, highlighting key moments and personal experiences. The event also included a recitation of the national loyalty oath and a heartfelt speech on behalf of the graduates, expressing their aspirations and gratitude to the country's event also celebrated a major international achievement, with the Umm Al Quwain branch of the Applied Technology Schools being named among the top 10 schools globally in the Innovation category of the World's Best School Prizes 2025, organised by the global organisation, T4 Education. The accomplishment underscores the UAE's leadership in technical and vocational education, and its firm commitment to embedding a culture of innovation within learning environments, further solidifying the nation's status among the world's leading advocates for the future of education. The Applied Technology Schools are among the UAE's leading educational institutions, offering students an advanced curriculum through three main academic pathways: the Advanced Science Programme, the Advanced Stream, and the General Stream. Dubai British School Jumeirah Park, Arbor School, and ATS-UAQ were shortlisted for World's Best School Prizes 2025 in innovation, environment, and community categories — a first for the UAE. Jun 22, 2025 Three schools from the United Arab Emirates have been named among the top 10 finalists for the 2025 World's Best School Prizes in a historic first. The annual awards, organised by UK-based T4 Education, honour schools that are driving positive change in education through innovation, environmental responsibility, and community impact. Dubai British School Jumeirah Park (DBSJP), the Arbor School in Al Furjan, and Applied Technology Schools in Umm Al Quwain (ATS-UAQ) are each competing in a separate category: community collaboration, environmental action, and innovation, respectively. DBSJP was recognised for its community-first approach, involving parents and external partners in learning. The school integrates creativity, inclusion, and wellbeing into its curriculum, and maintains a 100% student pass rate. Partnerships include global names from Barcelona's Football Escola to Michelin-starred chefs. The Arbor School focuses on environmental learning through hands-on inquiry and sustainability challenges. Its curriculum features eco-literacy programmes supported by six on-campus biodomes. Students have previously presented their work at COP28. ATS-UAQ specialises in vocational education, with programmes centred on AI, sustainability, and engineering. Students combine academic and industry-based training, earning national and regional awards for practical projects with measurable real-world impact. Winners will be announced in October following a review by an expert panel. A public vote will also determine the winner of the Community Choice Award. Finalists and winners will be invited to the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi on November 15th to the 16th.

F'bad govt school among world's top 10 major feat: Mahipal Dhanda
Haryana education minister Mahipal Dhanda on Thursday said that the Government Girls Senior Secondary School (GGSSS), NIT-5, Faridabad, has been named among the top 10 finalists for the World's Best School Prizes 2025, an honour shared by only four schools from India. These prestigious awards were instituted by T4 Education, a UK-based organisation operating in over 100 countries, in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. 'This achievement is an inspiration for government schools across the state. It proves that government schools have the potential to shine on the global stage,' Dhanda said. He added that the recognition of the Faridabad school serves as a guiding light for others and will motivate more government schools to innovate and prioritise student welfare. The GGSSS, NIT-5 Faridabad, has been shortlisted under the 'Supporting Healthy Lives' category of the World's Best School Prizes 2025, by T4 Education, working to empower teachers, school leaders and education systems worldwide. Other Indian schools in the top 10 list include Zila Parishad School, Jalinder Nagar (Pune, Maharashtra); Ekya School, JP Nagar (Karnataka); and Delhi Public School, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh).
