The limited-edition, Xbox-branded Meta Quest 3S headset has arrived. Reports over the weekend suggested that this model, which Meta announced a little over a year ago, would become available on June 24 and that turned out to be the case. This version of the headset comes in Xbox's classic black aesthetic with a green trim, and a matching Xbox Wireless Controller and Touch Plus controllers. You'll be able to connect other controllers to the headset, including the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and Xbox Adaptive Controller, as well as third-party gamepads like the Backbone Pro. The Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition has 128GB of storage and comes with an Elite Strap, as well as three months of access to both Meta Horizon+ and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. With the latter, you can play games via the cloud on the Xbox app, including supported games you own that are not part of the Game Pass Ultimate catalog. At $400, this bundle costs a bit more than the standard $300 Meta Quest 3S. Microsoft says that the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is available now, but "quantities are extremely limited." If you'd like to pick one up, you can do so from Meta's website, Best Buy in the US and Argos and EE in the UK. It's only available in those two countries. The Xbox app with cloud gaming support has been available on Quest headsets since late 2023. Still, this partnership aligns with Microsoft's push to have Xbox games accessible on as many devices as possible. The company recently announced Xbox-branded ASUS ROG Ally handheld gaming PCs that will be available later this year, and it has hinted at a more open future for the Xbox platform.

PSA: PS5 Pro Is Now Cheaper Than Xbox Series X 2TB Console

Today, Microsoft announced it is increasing the prices of products across the board. Consoles, controllers, headsets, and video games from the green gaming brand will see markups as early as today, May 1. The company announced it is adjusting the recommended retailer pricing for consoles and controllers worldwide starting today. Headsets are also getting a price increase, but only in the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, beginning this holiday season, 'some' Xbox first-party titles will be $79.99, a $10 increase from the once-standard $69.99 price point. A more in-depth reason for these adjustments is not given. However, Microsoft credits the current 'market conditions' and the 'rising cost of development' as key drivers to these adjustments. Here are the newly adjusted prices for Xbox consoles and controllers in the U.S.: Xbox Series S 512 GB: $379.99 Xbox Series S 1 TB : $429.99 Xbox Series X Digital: $549.99 Xbox Series X: $599.99 Xbox Series X 2 TB Galaxy Black Special Edition: $729.99 Xbox Wireless Controller (Core): $64.99 Xbox Wireless Controller (Color): $69.99 Xbox Wireless Controller – Special Edition: $79.99 Xbox Wireless Controller – Limited Edition: $89.99 Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Core): $149.99 Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Full): $199.99 Xbox Stereo Headset: $64.99 Xbox Wireless Headset: $119.99 These price increases for Xbox consoles are pretty significant, especially for the X series, which sees an increase of $100 for the digital and standard models. The 2TB model price increased by $130, making it more expensive than the PS5 Pro, which costs $699.99. As of this writing, Sony has not increased the price of its PS5 or PS5 Pro. However, it's not entirely out of the question. Last year, the company increased the price of its current-gen console in Japan. That adjustment has not yet made its way to the U.S. just yet. We'll just have to wait and see how the company reacts throughout the year. (Source: IGN) The post PSA: PS5 Pro Is Now Cheaper Than Xbox Series X 2TB Console appeared first on PlayStation LifeStyle.

Black America Web Featured Video CLOSE Source: CHARLY TRIBALLEAU / Getty / / Microsoft / Xbox Welp, it's going to cost you more if you're still in the market for an actual Xbox Series X or Series S console. Xbox announced today that it is raising the prices of the Xbox Series S and Series X consoles globally, except for accessories, which will see their prices increase in the US and Canada. First-party titles are expected to reach the $80 threshold by the holiday season. The price hike will take effect beginning May 1. You can peep them below: Xbox Series S 512 – $379.99 (up from $299.99) Xbox Series S 1TB – $429.99 (up from $349.99) Xbox Series X Digital – $549.99 (up from $449.99) Xbox Series X – $599.99 (up from $499.99) Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Special Edition $729.99 (up from $599.99) Xbox Wireless Controller (Core) – $64.99 Xbox Wireless Controller (Color) – $69.99 Xbox Wireless Controller – Special Edition – $79.99 Xbox Wireless Controller – Limited Edition – $89.99 (up from $79.99) Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Core) – $149.99 (up from $139.99) Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Full) – $199.99 (up from $179.99) Xbox Stereo Headset -$64.99 Xbox Wireless Headset – $119.99 (up from $109.99) Here's what Xbox had to say about the price hikes in an official statement: We understand that these changes are challenging, and they were made with careful consideration given market conditions and the rising cost of development. Looking ahead, we continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and ensuring value for Xbox players. A History of Price Hikes This marks the first time the Series S has seen a price hike since its 2020 release. Xbox committed to the console's current prices in 2022, following PlayStation's price increase for the PS5 due to inflation. The Xbox Series X experienced a price increase in 2023 in most countries, except the US, and Xbox Game Pass underwent multiple price hikes globally. These new Xbox price increases should not come as a surprise, as PlayStation announced price hikes for the PS5 in the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand three weeks ago. Nintendo recently faced criticism after revealing that the Nintendo Switch 2 would cost $450, one $80 game ( Mario Kart World ), and price hikes for Switch 2 accessories following Donald Trump's misuse of tariffs. Somehow This Is Nintendo's Fault Speaking of Nintendo, gamers, of course, are BIG MAD about the price hikes and already pointing fingers at someone. Gamers should blame Donald Trump and his misguided trade policies, as well as his misuse of tariffs. Still, somehow, Nintendo is being blamed for what Xbox's decision, with 'Thanks, Nintendo' immediately trending after the news broke. While we understand that Nintendo is not at fault for Microsoft's or even a potential decision from PlayStation, we acknowledge gamers' frustration with having to spend more money at a time when prices are increasing. There doesn't seem to be enough money to cover these expenses. You can see more reactions in the gallery below. Microsoft raises Xbox prices due to tariffs

Microsoft raised the recommended retail prices of its Xbox video game consoles and some controllers globally, the company announced on Thursday. Why it matters: The tech giant didn't reference the impact of tariffs specifically, but its updated support page cited changing "market conditions." Tariffs are affecting game companies across the board – Nintendo also announced price hikes for its accessories due to an almost identically phrased"change in market conditions." Microsoft also attributes pricing changes to the "rising cost of development." "Looking ahead, we continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and ensuring value for Xbox players," the page says. State of play: Xbox consoles are now $80 to $100 more per model. Microsoft's entry-level Xbox Series S now costs $379.99, an $80 increase from its previous sticker price of $299.99. The Xbox Series X is now $599.99, up $100 from its previous $499.99. The company also said that its recommended prices for new games will be $79.99 "starting this holiday season." The price of existing games will not change, per Microsoft. The price of the special edition Xbox Wireless Controller will increase to $79.99, a $10 increase from its previous $69.99 price point. The full list of pricing changes in various territories can be found on Microsoft's support page. Zoom out: Even if they're not spelling out the role of President Trump's tariffs, companies are bracing for the impact on the coming holiday season.
