Chinese automaker BYD rolled out 13-millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) at its Shenzhen production line. The vehicle marking the milestone is the
YANGWANG U7
, part of the company's high-end electric lineup.
According to BYD, the company recorded domestic sales of over 2.11 million NEVs in the first half of 2025, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 31.5 per cent.
Overseas sales during the same period stood at 472,000 units, up 128.5 per cent from the previous year.
As the EV race heats up, BYD has also upped its game with the target to capture global market share. With this volume, BYD retains its position as the world's top-selling NEV manufacturer and becomes the first global automaker to produce 13 million new energy vehicles.
The company's YANGWANG brand continues to play a role in positioning Chinese manufacturers within the premium electric vehicle segment. BYD's latest production figures highlight both growing global demand and China's expanding influence in the new energy vehicle market.
