Hawaii has the best of everything: rich island culture, pristine beaches, natural attractions and plenty of luxurious accommodations to choose from. Not sure which fancy resort to choose for your family vacation? 'A'ole pilikia. (That means 'no problem' in Hawaiian.) I rounded up the best family-friendly resorts in Hawaii, featuring Disney-themed experiences, entire villages on the Big Island, swanky oceanfront escapes and tranquil nature retreats that won't break the bank. Read on and start planning your perfect getaway. A Guide to the 8 Best Hotels in Wailea, Maui for Every Type of Traveler Hilton I had the pleasure of staying at this sprawling resort with my husband last summer and every aspect of our experience was perfect. We stayed in a spotless room with gorgeous ocean views in the rainbow tower—one of several towers that surround a gorgeous main lobby that leads directly to the pristine and generously-sized beach. If you wander down a pathway off the beach front and between the towers, you'll encounter a bustling village replete with restaurants and shops of every description. If you like seafood you absolutely must eat at Blue Water Shrimp & Seafood. My husband and I never tried the pools because we're beach people, but glowing reviews suggest that they're pretty awesome and by all accounts, mine included, this place is the perfect spot for a family vacation—namely because there's SO much to do and see. book it Eric BroderWhen it comes to family-friendly resorts, Disney knows how to do it right—and Aulani is no exception. Located on the island of Oahu, this stellar property boasts an abundance of kid-friendly attractions, including waterslides, pools, themed rooms and amusement park-like attractions—like the opportunity to take a picture with Mickey Mouse, for example. My favorite thing about this resort is that the rooms have kitchenettes (and microwaves!) which means you can save a ton of money on food while you're there by reheating leftovers or even cooking up your own simple meals rather than dining out. Other than that, reviews suggest that the service and accommodations are great and the lagoon beach is beautiful. The only con is that the crowds are considerable, so if you're looking for a low-key stay this might not be for you. book it The Ritz-Carlton Maui This resort on the island of Maui gets high marks for luxury accommodations, abundant amenities and highly attentive service. It's also surrounded by nature preserves and marine sanctuaries, and is located within walking distance of some of the island's best hiking trails, including Dragon's Tooth and the beautiful coastal trail. In other words, if you're a nature lover looking for a peaceful, family-friendly stay, this is the resort for you. But don't take my word for it, just check out the many five-star reviews, like the one that describes the property as 'expansive and gorgeous' and the experience as 'great, different and relaxing.' book it The Ritz-Carlton O'ahu Here, another bespoke Ritz-Carlton resort that offers guests a truly magical oceanfront stay in Oahu, complete with numerous activities that emphasize Hawaiian culture and connection with nature. As for a standout review, this one says it all: 'We were there with my daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. You guessed it, there are so many things to do for everyone. Golf, horseback riding and many other things are so close and only a very quick golf cart ride away. Very, very convenient. Lei making, snorkeling and surfing is available at the resort. Lots of carefully selected Hawaiian culture was everywhere. Club room was special. Awesome food, drinks and views. As a person who has visited all the Hawaiian Islands over 42 years this is one of those rare places that has it all.' book it Wailea Beach Resort Make yourself at home in one of the spacious, well-appointed suites at this Maui resort and you'll enjoy top-notch service, lively entertainment, numerous activities and several different pool options, both family-friendly and adults-only. There are also very kid-friendly features, like an outdoor playground and waterslides, that will thrill the younger ones in your brood. That said, the reviews suggest that rooms really run the gamut, with some being spectacular and others substandard. With that in mind, I suggest you follow the advice in Alexandra C.'s review when booking, which reads, 'The rooms are spacious, clean and depending on which suite you book, the room will have a gorgeous view. We can confirm the views from Hale 2 and Hale 4 are amazing.' book it OUTRIGGER If I ever return to Waikiki and want to try something new, this is hands down where I would stay—namely because the price is so appealing and the reviews are so impressive. (Seriously, it's one perfect five star after another.) Highlights of the property include live Hawaiian music, family-friendly cultural experiences and activities, plus a gorgeous beach and rooms with spectacular views. Oh, and numerous happy guests rave about the friendly service, too. ('Friendliest staff we've come across at a hotel in a long time,' 'their service is on top. The staff are very friendly and welcoming,' etc.) book it Koloa Landing Resort If you're planning a visit to the island of Kauai, consider this swanky south shore resort in the heart of Poipu. The property is one of the largest accommodations on the island with an impressive 25-acres of lush foliage and a seriously impressive 350,000 gallon pool with waterslides, swim and walk-through grottos and plenty of poolside cabanas. ('Main pool is one of the best pools I've ever seen,' reads one of the many reviews that rave about said pool.) Plus, the residential-style suites feature helpful amenities like kitchens, washers and dryers. It's worth noting that this is not a beachfront property; however, the most popular beach is just a short walk away so you can have the best of both worlds. book it Kauai Shores Hotel Here, another gem on the island of Kauai—Kauai Shores Hotel is a popular choice for families due to its budget-friendly rates and prime beachfront location (think: six acres of shoreline right outside your room). Given the lower rates, you can expect more modest amenities (i.e., there are only two pools), but reports from numerous happy guests suggest you will still be wanting for nothing at this relaxing and centrally-located spot. One such review? 'Wonderful staff. Very clean rooms and facilities. The views are beautiful and close to shops and eateries. The grounds are beautiful and lush. Our family had a fantastic time here.' book it Hana-Maui Resort Kid-friendly travel can often mean sacrificing adult needs—you know, like wellness, serenity, peace and quiet—but that's not the case at this unique resort in Hana. (Psst: the drive to Hana is formidable due to very windy roads, but this resort offers guests the opportunity to arrive via helicopter instead.) There aren't a ton of kid-oriented amenities (i.e., no waterslides or playgrounds) but the resort is very popular with families nevertheless. Highlights of the property include its incredible natural setting, beautiful grounds and stunning ocean views. Hana-Maui also offers guests access to numerous activities that promote a connection and an abundance of opportunities for outdoor recreation—including, pickleball, horseback riding, paddleboarding, hiking and more. Per the reviews, 'it's like a very fancy summer camp.' Bottom line: If you're looking for a nature retreat that kids can get on board with, this place fits the bill. book it The 17 Best All-inclusive Family Resorts, from Los Cabos to Marrakech

Still, some of the biggest, most expensive cities are not (or shouldn't be) the main attraction for families traveling with kids in tow. (Take it from me, a California native with two kids of her own!) For this reason, I compiled a list of five compelling and very kid-friendly Airbnbs in California that might give you a different experience of the state—and one that will be truly memorable for the young ones in your brood. This unique place can comfortably accommodate a family of four and, while it might look scant on kid-friendly amenities, this is an experience-oriented rental that allows kids to live out childhood dreams—perhaps inspired by family-friendly movies like The Sandlot, Hook or Tarzan. In fact, the glowing five-star reviews frequently mention what a special experience it is for the kids. And, given the unique setting, I probably don't even need to mention that there's ample outdoor space available for romping around. File this one under 'magical treetop glamping.' book now Airbnb Located just six minutes away from Joshua Tree National Park, this property allows families to enjoy the spectacular natural beauty of the area without, you know, having to rough it. What's more, the rental features numerous kid-friendly features—including a game room with a pool table, foosball table and indoor swing. The outdoor space, complete with hammocks and lawn games, isn't too shabby either. Plus, the bedrooms are butterfly themed and there's even a photo-op wall that will come in handy for your future scrapbook. book now Airbnb When it comes to paradise for kids, this impressive, gaming-themed home gives Disneyland a run for its money (literally). For starters, there's a huge arcade in the living room, plus a separate gaming lounge with a jumbotron theater. In fact, not a single room in the house is without some kind of game—the dining room and the themed bedrooms (Super Mario!) all have arcade or video games available—and that applies to the backyard, too, where there are lawn games galore. In other words, if you're aiming for a vacation with built-in kid entertainment so you can just relax, you can't do better than this. book now Airbnb Sprawl out at this palatial hillside retreat in the Fallbrook region of California and you might be tempted to book a permanent stay. You can suspect supreme privacy and a sweeping view from every bedroom of the gorgeous natural surroundings. Take a cold plunge in the pool, soak in the hot tub and then enjoy some family fun with ping pong and foosball in the very well-appointed game room. Oh, and did I mention the expansive backyard, yoga deck and exercise room? Yep, this place has something to offer any member of your group. Book now Airbnb Families looking for a nature retreat will delight in the offerings available at this unique farm stay. Kids can enjoy close-up encounters with all the animals on the property (think: bottle feeding a baby goat). The vacation rental is a well-appointed, detached home on a 5-acre property, so there's plenty of outdoor space to play. That said, the magic is really with the animals—and the hosts, parents themselves, are committed to providing the most memorable, interactive experience gift possible for families who visit. Bonus: The property is also located right outside Sequoia National Park, so there's plenty of sightseeing to be had if you can pull yourself away from all the cuties on the farm. book now 35 Cheap Family Vacations You Haven't Thought of Before

Duchess Sophie Almost Stumbles While Curtsying to King Charles

It was all fun and games for Duchess Sophie this week at the Royal Windsor Flower Show until it came time to greet her brother-in-law, King Charles, and her curtsy—standard royal protocol, of course—went from the event captured the moment it happened: The Duchess of Edinburgh bowed her head and kneeled so low as she said hello to the king that she nearly lost her shoe. It happened to be an ultra-chic slip-on wedge from Penelope Chilvers—similar here—in a neutral tone. As cute as they were, something tells us Sophie may be rethinking her footwear after nearly losing her balance in a high-pressure moment like this. (She had to reach up and grip the king's arms to steady herself, a royal oops.)That said, this type of situation ended up providing a chance for Sophie's relationship with Charles to shine. In fact, His Majesty—based on the pics—even appears to laugh it off as he helps the duchess recover. Like we said, royal protocol dictates the curtsy, but that doesn't mean that the formality of it all always goes smoothly. It also reminds us of something Samantha Cohen, one of Queen Elizabeth II's former royal aides, once said about royal life: The late queen's comings and goings were always organized so perfectly, which meant she got a real kick out of moments when things went wrong. (We're curious if Charles feels the same way.) That said, a stumble or two is often the price we pay for style. After all, Sophie looked lovely in her blue floral ME+EM dress paired with a blazer from Frame. Her wedges—wobbly footing aside—served as the perfect complement. One of my favorite parts of getting dressed each summer—in addition to trying seasonal fashion trends like Portuguese Girl style and jelly flats—is the opportunity to wear vibrant colors. And while you can never go wrong with classic white eyelet lace or black linen, there are a few shades in particular that you'll soon be seeing everywhere you look. Searches for these six hues have been steadily growing in popularity on the global shopping platforms and search engines Lyst, ShopStyle, Net-a-Porter and TagWalk for some time now, and a quick scroll through Netflix or TikTok, reveals that fictional characters, celebrities and influencers alike are already incorporating them into their summer capsule wardrobes. Here, the top summer color trends making their way from the runways and street looks to stores this season that you need to keep an eye on, plus tips on how to wear them no matter your style. Want to know which buzzy products are *really* worth buying? Sign up for our shopping newsletter to uncover our favorite this food-inspired hue is still going strong, almost a full year after it first started gaining steam, and there are no signs of the trend slowing down. The mellow shade has spread to the best-sellers lists at retailers like Nordstrom, Shopbop and Revolve, and now it's nearly impossible to scroll through Instagram without seeing some form of the 'It' color of the season in some capacity. And while it didn't seem to make much sense to me in the dead of winter, I do think it works incredibly well for warm weather and sunny afternoons. Don't fret if you don't love the way a classic butter yellow looks against your skin tone; you can (and should) try slight variations on the shade for the most flattering effect. Think: a soft and elegant buttermilk not far from the beige family or slightly bolder, more sunset-y shades of red have also been a trend for some time now, and while winter may have seen burgundy and plum rising to the top, summer will have the boldest, brightest versions pushing back into the spotlight. It makes for the perfect pop to any outfit and goes surprisingly well with a wide range of other hues, including pastels, neutrals and other primary shades. Because vermilion demands attention, no matter how large the item, this is a color you can absolutely adopt in small doses if you prefer. Start with some red socks, a red cardigan or even just a bold red lipstick before graduating to red maxi dresses and matching is always at least one shade of pink topping the list of color trends—millennial, Barbie, ballerina, etc.—and this summer is no exception. For 2025, it's all about the more delicate variations. Not quite pastel, but somewhere around cherry blossom or blush. This is one hue that's feminine, sweet and, above all, easy to pull off, so I say lean into it by sporting pink ballet flats, cardigans and solid-colored midi dresses. I've also seen plenty of influencers pairing this dainty hue with its opposites on the color wheel—blue or green—to create a striking pairing that's oh-so between sky, baby and Carolina blue sits a shade that immediately evokes images of crisp cotton button-up shirts. It's paler, but not washed out, and has an inherently preppy vibe, even when worn as boho ruffles or silk midi skirts. It's refreshing, easy to mix with basically anything in your existing wardrobe, and timeless too, making it a no-brainer to invest in. Of course, the easiest variations are, literally, crisp cotton pieces like tailored shorts, shirtdresses and button-up shirts. But opting for something much more unexpected, like a jersey tank dress or waxed barn jacket, is a super fun way to shake things up and impress even your most fashion-minded condolences to Elle Woods, but it appears orange may truly be the new pink. Or at the very least the summer-ready hue is proving to be a trend alongside shades of pink, in swaths big and small. Think less traffic cone and more creamsicle—middle-of-the-road shades, like tangerine, are the way to go here. The cheery, warm-weather trend is easiest to wear with neutrals like beige, tan or navy, but don't let that stop you from experimenting with bolder combinations, like hot pink, lime green or even royal purple. Much like with butter yellow, the key here is to seek out a shade of orange that best complements your skin brown, mocha mousse, burnt caramel—whatever version you like best, warm browns of all kinds are reigning supreme this summer. It's the ideal alternative to black or navy, which can sometimes feel a bit too stuffy for warmer weather. And while brown linen and lightweight or open-weave knits are definitely the way for clothing, brown suede is surprisingly still a great option for accessories like bags, flats or loafers, even as we head into peak summer. The White Lotus might be over, but there's a new show all about wealth and power that everyone's talking about right now—Sirens. The Netflix series follows sisters Simone and Devon DeWitt, as Simone is drawn into the glamorous world of a wealthy Port Haven family while Devon questions what's really going on. And it's not just the twisty plot that has viewers hooked—the fashion is just as captivating. The looks are totally what you'd expect of a show set on a Nantucket-esque island (the fictional Port Haven)—think perfectly preppy outfits like colorful Lilly Pulitzer dresses ($188) and pieces that easily embody this year's fisherman aesthetic trend like classic Breton tees ($128). Below, find eight styles to make you feel like you stepped right off the set. Want to know which buzzy products are *really* worth buying? Sign up for our shopping newsletter to uncover our favorite finds. Courtesy of Netflix Lily Pulitzer If you adored the bold pink dress Simone (Milly Alcock) donned in episode one, you're gonna want to grab this one that has a super similar style while it's still in stock. The dress is made from a breezy, 100 percent linen fabric that will feel light in the summer heat and it comes in a bunch of different colors and patterns. So when you fall in love with it like other reviewers who call it a "closet staple" have, you can pick it up in a second style. $188 at Lilly PUlitzer Speaking of staples, linen shorts are a must-have for any coastal-inspired wardrobe, and you can grab this pair from for $30 off right now. The stretchy waistband is sure to keep you comfy while you wear them from brunch to the beach and they're machine-washable, too, so you can wear them over and over this sumer. $70; $40 at Tuckernuck From the crochet material to the crisp white trim, this top is preppy perfection. The body of the shirt is lined so you don't have to stress over it being see-through or finding the perfect layer to wear underneath. Not to mention, the boxy fit is ideal to keep you cool and, according to reviewers, it fits true-to-size. $148 at Tuckernuck H&M This breezy sundress *belongs* near the beach, and at just $40, how can you resist? The seashell pattern is totally on-trend, too, (although it does come in two other tropical prints if you prefer) and the ties on the straps will allow you to easily adjust how high or low the neckline sits—could it get any better?! $40 at H&M Gorjana While Simone's exact Nantucket necklace will easily set you back more than $1,000, this bold heart necklace from Gorjana is a fab (and much more attainable) alternative to the necklace Devon (Meghann Fahy) dons throughout the show. But don't worry, shoppers say this one still looks way more expensive than it is. "This is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry from Gorjana!! This necklace looks and feels like a much more expensive piece of jewelry," said one reviewer. Plus, you can easily switch out the heart charm to another design if you want, or add on any extras to mix it up. $153 at Gorjana Vineyard Vines The cotton/modal blend fabric of this printed Vineyard Vines top that could easily be seen on anyone visiting Port Haven is so soft that you'll want to wear it on repeat. It's available in a wide range of sizes from XXS to 3X and comes in both this pretty blue and a pink pattern that I think Simone would just adore. BTW, if you want to make it a whole outfit, you can pair it with this matching smocked skirt made from the same soft, light material. From $128; $52 at Vineyard Vines Free People Michaela/"Kiki" (Julianne Moore) is constantly donning light, flowy sets that look as comfortable as they do elegant, and this linen-blend one from Free People totally feels like something she'd be seen wearing. The straps are adjustable thanks to the tie-back design, and you have a bunch of colors to choose from—so go ahead and get one in your cart while you still can. $88 at Free People Buck Mason You simply can't build a preppy seaside wardrobe without a good Breton tee. I can confirm just how good Buck Mason's cotton shirts are, and this one's bound to be no exception—especially if you take reviewers' words for it. One shared, "This knit is outstanding. [It's] substantial but not bulky and [easily] sheds wrinkles (after I had the sleeves tucked and rolled the entire day). [It] would be great for travel use, work at home, lounge—whatever you need, this will do it." Well, I'm sold. $128 at Buck Mason These 23 'White Lotus'-Inspired Styles Will Have You *So* Ready for a Vacation PureWow's editors and writers have spent more than a decade shopping online, digging through sales and putting our home goods, beauty finds, wellness picks and more through the wringer—all to help you determine which are actually worth your hard-earned cash.
