A 44-year-old woman faces charges after an alleged assault involving pepper spray in Sault Ste. Marie last week.
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said officers responded to the 100 block of Albert Street West around 10:38 p.m. on June 29 after 911 communicators received a report of someone being pepper-sprayed.
'Officers were dispatched to the scene,' police said in a news release.
Investigators determined the accused had used an animal deterrent spray to assault a person known to them. The woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and administering a noxious thing.
She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 8.
