Kajol says no contemporary actor reminds her of herself, lauds Alia Bhatt: ‘She has proven herself quite a bit'

Kajol recently praised the new generation of Bollywood stars for creating their unique identities, singling out Alia Bhatt for her impressive rise in the industry. When asked by India Today about the most promising talents among Gen-Z actors, Kajol said, 'Alia, I think she has proven herself quite a bit. So, I mean, yeah… Then you have Ananya, Janhvi, Sara – the regular – all of them.' Additionally, Kajol, expressed admiration for how today's actors are distinctly different from those of her era. 'I'm very happy to say that there is none,' she remarked when questioned if any young actor reminded her of her own generation from the '90s. 'It's not an arrogant statement or anything like that. But each one of the actors that we have has very clearly made their own world. They are not following anyone's footprints, and they shouldn't. It's a different world today.' She also elaborated on the evolving mindset of actors today, highlighting their clear sense of identity and choice in roles. 'They are very clearly following their own ideas about what films they should and shouldn't do. And they're even clearer about who they are. Their identity is pretty much set in stone, and it's not a map of anybody else,' Kajol said.
