Kajol says no contemporary actor reminds her of herself, lauds Alia Bhatt: ‘She has proven herself quite a bit'
Kajol recently praised the new generation of Bollywood stars for creating their unique identities, singling out Alia Bhatt for her impressive rise in the industry. When asked by India Today about the most promising talents among Gen-Z actors, Kajol said, 'Alia, I think she has proven herself quite a bit. So, I mean, yeah… Then you have Ananya, Janhvi, Sara – the regular – all of them.' Additionally, Kajol, expressed admiration for how today's actors are distinctly different from those of her era. 'I'm very happy to say that there is none,' she remarked when questioned if any young actor reminded her of her own generation from the '90s. 'It's not an arrogant statement or anything like that. But each one of the actors that we have has very clearly made their own world. They are not following anyone's footprints, and they shouldn't. It's a different world today.' She also elaborated on the evolving mindset of actors today, highlighting their clear sense of identity and choice in roles. 'They are very clearly following their own ideas about what films they should and shouldn't do. And they're even clearer about who they are. Their identity is pretty much set in stone, and it's not a map of anybody else,' Kajol said. Alia's last theatrical release, Jigra, underperformed at the box office, and she was also subjected to significant online hate and criticism for her performance.

War 2 new posters: Kiara Advani and Hrithik Roshan look fierce as they get ready to face Jr NTR; fans say, ‘Bring it on'

It also featured high-octane action sequences shot across multiple breathtaking international locations. The movie is the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe. The franchise began with Ek Tha Tiger, followed by Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. Another film in the franchise — Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari — is also in the pipeline. War 2 will release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on August 14. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films.

When the teaser of Yash Raj Films' spy film War 2 was released last month, Kiara Advani proudly proclaimed how the film marked her first on-screen bikini moment. However, the internet was a little miffed as to how the YRF Spy Universe tends to bracket all its female protagonists as bikini-clad glam dolls, from Deepika Padukone to Vaani Kapoor, and now Kiara. On Thursday, Kiara took to her Instagram to share a fierce new look of her character from the film. The poster showed her in all black, pairing an open long trench coat with leather pants and boots, Kiara looked on ahead in the distance with a handgun firmly clasped in her hands.
