Priyadarshan announces Haiwaan with actors Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan
Last Updated: Mumbai, Jul 17 (PTI) Filmmaker Priyadarshan has officially announced 'Haiwaan", his upcoming film that reunites actors Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. The 'Hera Pheri" director recently posted a picture of the two actors watching India vs England test match at Lord's Cricket Stadium in London on Instagram. ''Haiwaan'- my next film with @akshaykumar and Saif Ali Khan at Lord's," he wrote in the caption on Tuesday. The details of the plot have been kept under wraps. Akshay and Saif have shared the screen space in many movies such as 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari", 'Yeh Dillagi", 'Aarzoo", 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi" and 'Keemat". They were last seen together in the 2008 action film 'Tashan", which also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anil Kapoor. Akshay is working on two more movies with Priyadarshan — horror comedy 'Bhoot Bangla" and the much-awaited third part of the 'Hera Phera" franchise. He told HT City, "I am living in South India, whenever a film is signed, I will go to shoot it. I am only committed to Akshay Kumar to do this film (as a maker), I don't know anybody else." Furthermore, he added, "You won't see a single comment of mine on the whole issue till today. I don't believe in the politics of cinema. Suniel, Akshay and Paresh are my best friends. There was a difference of opinion between them that has been sorted out. This is all I know. I don't think anybody else is involved in it." He elaborated, "Akshay, Paresh and Suniel told me we all discussed and have decided to do the film; it has nothing to do with any other individual. Somebody is saying so and so is involved, but there's nothing. To the best of my knowledge, the three actors decided to do the film and informed me." As for Saif Ali Khan, he was last seen in Netflix's Jewel Thief and also featured in Devara: Part 1 and Adipurush, which released in theatres.

Kajol Compares Ibrahim Ali Khan With Father Saif Ali Khan: ‘Camera Loves Both'
Sarzameen is an intense drama about an army officer's unwavering determination to defeat terrorism in Kashmir. The teaser for Kajol, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Sarzameen was officially unveiled some days back. Viewers are excited to see the trio working together, and the film will be released directly to OTT this month. Kajol would be sharing the screen with Ibrahim for the first time and previously has worked with his father, Saif Ali Khan as well. In her latest interview the actress made a comparison between the father-son duo. In conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Kajol praised both Ibrahim Ali Khan and Saif Ali Khan's on screen presence, stating that while they both have tremendous charisma, their on-set mannerisms reflect two very distinct styles. She said, 'Camera loves both of them. They both have this X-factor in is more of a 'main character energy' kind of person. Ibrahim, on the other hand, was much more reserved on set. I think he was trying to stay in character at that moment and be quiet and reserved." Kajol and Saif have been together in several significant films throughout the years. Their first collaboration was in 1994 with the romantic drama Yeh Dillagi, in which they co-starred with Akshay Kumar. They reunited for the action drama Bambai Ka Babu (1996), followed by Hameshaa (1997). Later, they reunited in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020). Sarzameen, starring Kajol, Prithviraj and Ibrahim, is an intense drama about an army officer's constant resolve to defeat terrorism in Kashmir. The teaser features a face-off between Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, hinting at the film's high-stakes confrontation. Fans are captivated by Ibrahim's new look. He is portrayed as an angry man with a full beard. Towards the end of the teaser, Ibrahim is seen approaching Prithviraj from behind, his gun pointed at him, setting the stage for a confrontation between their characters. Soumil Shukla and Arun Singh wrote the story and script, while the film is produced by Karan Johar. Kayoze Irani directed the film, which will be available on JioHotstar on July 25. On the work front, Kajol was most recently seen in Maa while Ibrahim Ali Khan made his debut in Nadaaniyan. Mumbai: Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar, who have collaborated on films such as 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari', 'Yeh Dillagi', and 'Aarzoo', are reportedly set to reunite for a new movie. If a source is to be believed, Akshay and Saif have come on board together for ace filmmaker Priyadarshan's project titled 'Haiwaan'. The shooting for 'Haiwaan' is expected to commence in August, and the makers are eyeing a grand release in 2026. Saif and Akshay were last seen together in Vijay Krishna Acharya's directorial 'Tashan', which came out in 2008. It also starred Saif's wife and actor Kareena Kapoor Khan in a pivotal role. However, an official announcement regarding the film has not been made yet. Meanwhile, Akshay is basking in the success of his film 'Housefull 5'. As per the makers, the film has reportedly earned Rs 300 crore at the global box office and Rs 200 crore net at the domestic box office in 25 days. It was released on June 6. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Johny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, Sonam Bajwa and Soundarya Sharma. 'Housefull 5' boasts multiple endings.
