Ministry of Education Announces Basic Certificate Exam Results
Sana'a - (Saba): The Ministry of Education and Scientific Research announced today the results of the Basic Certificate Examinations for the academic year 1446 AH, with a success rate of 90.88 %. In a press statement, the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, congratulated the students on their success in the exams. He explained that the total number of students who took the exams was 295,958. He explained that 288,525 students attended the exam, while 7,433 students were absent. He stated that 262,212 students passed the exam, while 26,313 students failed. The Deputy Minister confirmed that students can obtain their results starting today by calling 161 on their landline or by sending their seating number via an SMS via the Yemen Mobile network. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the teachers who contributed to the success of the school year, as well as the committees working to prepare and implement the basic exams in the capital, governorates, local authorities, security committees, and media institutions, overcoming the repercussions of the ongoing aggression and its unjust blockade on the country. For his part, the Acting Undersecretary of the Curriculum and Education Planning Sector, Hamid Ghathaya, discussed the efforts made to ensure the success of the exams and the electronic marking mechanism within the framework of automating general exams, which mitigated the problems that had previously plagued exams. For his part, the Director General of Examinations, Najib Al-Matari, stated that students who failed one or two subjects will be tested in the supplementary exam scheduled for the 24th of Muharram. Commemorative event for individuals & associations of persons with disabilities at Yale Language Institute in Sana'a
Sanaa - Saba On Monday, May 19, 2025, the Yale Institute of Languages in Sana'a held a ceremony honoring persons with disabilities and their associations under the slogan 'Do not look at my disability, but at my abilities,' sponsored by Yemen Mobile, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the institute's establishment. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saba Agency, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Quddous Al-Shar'i. The Chairman of the institute, Dr. Yahya Al-Muhagari, emphasized the importance of learning English as a language for communication, praising the success stories achieved by students with disabilities while denouncing the crimes of the Zionist occupation in Gaza and the disabilities inflicted on children and women. The institute's director, Dr. Abdullah Al-Gharbani, highlighted the significance of this event in showcasing the stories of perseverance of persons with disabilities and Yemen Mobile's role in supporting social responsibility. In turn, Anwar Al-Himi, the social responsibility officer at Yemen Mobile, affirmed the company's commitment to supporting societal groups and developing their capabilities, especially amid ongoing aggression and siege on Yemen. The visually impaired student, Hayat Al-Ashmouri, also shared her experience at the institute, expressing gratitude for the support she received. Yemen Mobile announces distribution of highest percentage of profits by 40 percent
Sana'a - Saba: Yemen Mobile on Tuesday announced a 40% profit distribution to shareholders for the past year, the highest in Yemen, at its General Assembly meeting in the capital Sana'a. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed al-Mahdi lauded the company's achievements despite the "American aggression" and its role in digital transformation, urging the development of local apps. The Minister of Finance praised Yemen Mobile as a leading company and pledged support for its growth. Chairman of the company Essam al-Hamli highlighted the company's successful performance, network expansion (including 4G in Socotra), subscriber growth (over 13.5 million), and significant revenue and profit increases, leading to the record dividend. Yemen Mobile is also investing in digital transformation and community support. The Executive Director stated that dividend payment dates will be communicated via SMS. Inauguration free medical camp for eyes launch in Wasab district ,Dhamar next Monday
Dhamar - Saba: The Health Care Association for Affected Communities will launch the 63rd free medical camp for eye surgery at Al-Ahad Rural Hospital in Wasab district in Dhamar province. The camp, which will be held from Shawwal 16-20, funded by Yemen Mobile and sponsored by the Ministry of Public Health and Environment, aims to provide inspection services and perform 200 operations, including cataracts, conjunctival pterygium, and fatty eyelid cysts for vulnerable people in the district. The free medical camp comes as part of a series of camps organized by the association as part of the solidarity projects that embody the mercy of Islam, the concern for the poor and the implementation of acts of charity and righteousness, said Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, head of the Health Care Association, to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba). He pointed out that during the first three days of the camp, which will be held in cooperation with the health office in the province, examination and inspection will be conducted and cases that require surgical intervention will be identified and subjected to pre-operative examinations. He praised the efforts of Yemen Mobile in supporting the camp to alleviate the suffering of citizens as a result of the current circumstances the country is going through.
