Emma Stone Gets Kidnapped in Yorgos Lanthimos' Bugonia Teaser Trailer
The first official teaser trailer is here, previewing Yorgos Lanthimos' next movie, in which Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis kidnap Emma Stone, believing her to be an alien. The teaser trailer sets the stage for the movie with two conspiracy-minded young men led by Teddy (Plemons) kidnapping Michelle (Stone), a CEO of a major pharmaceutical company, believing her to be an alien hellbent on destroying Earth. Bugonia is set to release in theaters on October 24, 2025. Check out the Bugonia teaser trailer below (watch other trailers): Bugonia is based on the 2003 Korean sci-fi movie Save the Green Planet!, which was directed by Jang Joon-hwan. The film stars Plemons, Stone, Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone. 'Lee Byeong-gu (Shin Ha-kyun) is convinced that there are aliens from Andromeda among us, plotting to destroy Earth,' the synopsis for the 2003 movie reads. 'He believes that Kang Man-shik (Baek Yun-shik), the head of a chemical production company, is their leader, and he kidnaps him. Holing up in his secret lair, Byeong-gu interrogates and tortures the supposed alien, hoping that he will confess to his crimes against humanity and call off the planned destruction of the planet before it is too late.' The movie is written by Will Tracy. Lathimos produces the movie alongside Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe of Element Pictures, Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen of Square Beg, Stone of Fruit Tree, and Miky Lee and Jerry Kyoungboum Ko of CJ ENM. Lanthimos' latest film, Kinds of Kindness, also starred both Stone and Plemons. The trailer begins with Plemons' character Teddy Gatz in a beekeepers' uniform, surrounded by the insects as he says in a voiceover, "It all starts with something magnificent: a flower, then a honey bee. The workers gather pollen for the queen." It's clear Teddy is speaking in metaphors, as the footage soon cuts to Stone's power-suit-clad CEO character Michelle Fuller strutting importantly through an office building. "But the bees, they're dying," Teddy continues. "And that's the way they planned it: to make us the same as the bees." "But it is not in control anymore. We are," he adds, before Green Day's "Basket Case" begins playing over a montage of conspiracy-laced madness between Teddy and his plan partner (Delbis). "How can you tell she's an alien?" the latter asks, to which Teddy replies, "Well, the signs are obvious." is now available in the Apple App Store!
