Kevin Jonas Lost ‘Almost All' His Money After Jonas Brothers' 2013 Split, Here's How He Bounced Back
Kevin Jonas has revealed that he lost almost all of his money after the Jonas Brothers split in 2013. Speaking on Lewis Howes' The School of Greatness podcast on Monday, July 7, Kevin opened up about how poor business decisions left him nearly broke and how the band's reunion gave him a second chance. The Jonas Brothers, made up of Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas, rose to fame in the mid-2000s. They released their debut album, It's About Time, in 2006 and starred in Disney's Camp Rock in 2008. By 2013, the band decided to call it quits. 'When it ended, it was not good,' Nick Jonas said in a 2019 interview with Z100. 'It was a couple of years of rebuilding our family, and in our mind it seemed impossible for us to do this ever again.' Kevin tried his hand at real estate and tech During the break, Kevin Jonas focused on entrepreneurial ventures. He invested in real estate through his company, JonasWerner, developing residential properties near Manhattan, as per PEOPLE. He also entered the tech world, launching the restaurant-finding app Yood and partnering with social media platform We Heart It. Kevin also ran The Blu Market, which helped social media influencers build their brands. But Kevin admitted on the podcast that not all deals worked out. 'I've seen the beginning of the success to financial success, not knowing what money really was and understanding it, to not having [it], to losing almost all of it,' Kevin said. Host Lewis Howes asked if he really lost nearly everything. Kevin confirmed, 'Yeah, most of it, like, down to the one 10 percent left.' He said the main loss came from a failed partnership about nine years ago. 'I invested in a bunch of property and doing other things and I was building at the time,' Kevin said. 'Sadly, it wasn't the right partnership, if you know what I'm saying.' He chose not to share more details but added that he learned a lot of lessons. A second chance with the Jonas Brothers Kevin said he felt grateful for the Jonas Brothers' comeback, sharing that it helped him recover both financially and personally. In 2019, the Jonas Brothers revealed their reunion on The Late Late Show with James Corden and went on to release Happiness Begins in June, along with their Amazon Prime Video documentary Chasing Happiness. Kevin shared that they got a second chance with the band coming back together and described making Chasing Happiness as a therapeutic process for the brothers, since it forced them to have honest conversations without holding back.

These speakers give you Dolby Atmos surround sound without ruining your home decor
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Quick Summary TCL has announced the first Dolby Atmos FlexConnect speakers for the US market. FlexConnect enables you to put the speakers anywhere and optimises the surround sound based on where they are. So you don't need to place them in a traditional home cinema setup. A home cinema setup has always been high on many people's wishlist, but it does require fairly rigid speaker placement, which might not suit every living space. But that's where TCL comes in. The manufacturer has partnered with Dolby to produce a Dolby Atmos system that makes it much easier to get full-fledged surround sound, but without needing traditional placement. Its TCL Z100 speakers come with Dolby's FlexConnect technology, which we reported on back in 2023. And that allows them to be placed in different zones to traditional surrounds. FlexConnect is designed for wireless speakers specifically, and the idea is that you can put the speakers wherever you want and the technology will optimise them based on the space they're in and where you've put them. It does that by sending signals to each speaker, listening to what comes back and then adjusting the frequency and timing to create your Atmos environment. TCL's speakers can be used solo, or you can use up to four as a full surround system. In order to use FlexConnect speakers you'll need a TV that has the technology too, and naturally TCL will happily sell you one of those. Its QM8K, QM7K and QM6K models all support the tech, although they're currently only available in the US. TCL's Precise Dimming Series TVs and Z100 speakers are the first FlexConnect products to launch in the US, but there will be more. As this is a Dolby technology rather than TCL, the aim is to have FlexConnect become as ubiquitous as Atmos. Whether firms such as Samsung will embrace it remains to be seen. It's similar to Samsung's existing Q-Symphony system, and we know that the Korean firm is cool towards Atmos. This year's Samsung home entertainment hardware is pushing Eclipsa Audio, a direct rival to Dolby's immersive audio. Without the big names such as Sony and Samsung on board, FlexConnect could struggle to make an impact. However, TCL's Z100 speakers will go on sale in the US this summer. Pricing hasn't been announced just yet, but the speakers are available in China for CN¥1,499 apiece. That's roughly $208 / £155.

These Dolby Atmos speakers will be going in my living room thanks to this one key feature
If you've tried to get Dolby Atmos sound in your living room, you'll know it's like playing surround sound Tetris. You've got to find some spare outlets, line up your speakers, and then fiddle with the calibration. It's definitely not the easiest of tasks. That's why Dolby started working on FlexConnect for Atmos. It's some clever tech that actively adapts the sound based on where the speaker is plonked in your room, so you don't need to line things up precisely. And TCL's newest Dolby Atmos speakers are the first to support FlexConnect, which means they're headed straight for my living room. TCL's Z100 speakers are designed to pair with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect-enabled QD-Mini LED TVs from TCL – specifically the QM8K, QM7K, or QM6K models. You can start with one speaker and scale up to four, and the system will adjust itself accordingly. It's a bit like building a LEGO set, only it makes your TV sound like an cinema theatre. Now, don't get too excited if you've already got a decent TV or speaker setup. Dolby's FlexConnect won't work with legacy kit, and the Z100s won't pair with anything outside of TCL's new FlexConnect-enabled TVs. It's all very proprietary. Dolby first announced FlexConnect in 2023, but this is the first time we're actually getting speakers ready to buy and shove into our homes. Performance details are still a bit thin on the ground, and while no one's expecting these to dethrone a professionally tuned 7.2.2 setup, that's not the point. These are for those of us who want immersive Atmos sound without faffing with AV receivers. Pricing for the TCL Z100 speakers hasn't been confirmed yet, and neither has the exact release date. TCL says the Dolby Atmos speakers are due out this summer. Surprise, surprise, there's also no word yet on pricing.

TCL's newest TVs will automatically calibrate wireless speakers
Dolby's automatic speaker calibration tech FlexConnect finally comes to market via TCL's 2025 QD-Mini LED TVs. The company had originally announced the technology back in 2023, and was set to debut it with TCL's 2024 TV lineup. FlexConnect lets users place wireless speakers anywhere in a room without worrying about perfect configuration. The surround sound will then be optimized automatically based on the layout of the room and the position of the speakers. The first audio device to support this tech will be TCL's Z100 smart speaker, which is designed to pair with TCL's FlexConnect-enabled TVs. TCL's Precise Dimming Series, which includes the QM6K , QM7K and the newly announced QM8K , will all be FlexConnect-compatible. Users will be able to pair up to four Z100 speakers with their TCL TVs, which will work in concert with the TV's built-in speakers to deliver intelligently calibrated Dolby Atmos sound. This innovation allows for immersive spatial sound without the need for a perfectly symmetrical speaker setup. In today's joint press release , John Couling, Senior VP of Entertainment at Dolby Labs, said 'With Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, consumers can unlock even more flexibility and adaptability in how they design their home entertainment systems, while removing the stress of whether their speakers are in the right location to get an incredible Dolby Atmos experience.' In the same release , TCL said the Z100 speakers are expected this summer. The Z100 and the TCL Precise Dimming Series represent the first FlexConnect products launched in the United States. Along with the QM8K launch, TCL also announced its first model of party speakers, as well as the Q65H, its latest Dolby Atmos soundbar.
