Zac Brown Band announces four shows at the Sphere in 'dream come true' experience

Ooh, Las Vegas: The Zac Brown Band is set to bring their southern twang to the Las Vegas Sphere. According to their website, the band will play four shows across two weekends in December at the venue. The first performance is scheduled for Dec. 5, the same day they plan to release their eighth album, 'Love & Fear.' 'Bringing our new album Love & Fear to Sphere Las Vegas is a dream come true,' Zac Brown wrote on the group's Instagram on Monday. 'It's my masterpiece so far.' The group began the rollout for their new album on June 6 with the lead single 'I Ain't Worried About It.' On July 18, they'll release 'Let it Run,' featuring Snoop Dogg. Additional album features include Marcus King and Dolly Parton. 'This show is the story of my life that I have never shared, a journey through my imagination, music and stories that have defined who I am,' the Instagram post continued. 'All of this brought to life in the incredible immersive environment of Sphere.' Tickets for the Dec. 5, 6, 12 and 13 shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. July 25, with an exclusive presale for the band's 'Zamily' members going live on Monday at the same time. Though 'Love & Fear' will surely take the spotlight, fans can almost certainly expect the usual hits, including multi-platinum hits like 'Knee Deep' and 'Chicken Fried,' at the Sphere. 'It will be a unique experience where you can really feel every note, every word, right there with us. We can't wait to share it with the fans,' Brown added. The Zac Brown Band's quartet of Vegas shows marks the second country act at the Sphere, coming just six months after Kenny Chesney wrapped up a 15-show residency on June 21. The band and Chesney previously collaborated on a live version of 'Everybody Goes to Heaven,' and the Zac Brown Band made a guest appearance during Chesney's 'Sun Goes Down' tour in 2024.

Zac Brown: Veterans Voice Award

Singer-songwriter Zac Brown and his band's music has long resonated with soldiers and veterans of the U.S. military. In 2010, the Zac Brown Band participated in a tour in partnership with the USO, a non-profit providing many services to those who serve, including arts and entertainment. While performing several shows for troops in the Persian Gulf, the band filmed and used footage for a music video release of their introspective hit single, 'Free.' Over the years, Brown has developed personal relationships with the military community. One veteran in particular whom he is close with, Joe Maynard, has a favorite Zac Brown Band tune, the bluegrass-inspired 'Natural Disaster.' Maynard received a medal for saving fellow troops from an ambush while serving. He then gifted the medal to Brown as a token of appreciation for the positive impact the song had on himself and other veterans.

McLaren Racing's WEC Hypercar Team Will Be Called 'McLaren United'

The motorsports world's collective eyes are all on France right now for the 93rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. McLaren Racing is taking advantage of that fact, to announce the details of its plan to join the World Endurance Championship in 2027, including its partnership with United Autosports and its decision to participate under the banner of McLaren United, with James Barclay named as team principal. The brand has not yet made any driver announcements. In 2027, McLaren United will join the WEC field with two entries, No. 95 and No. 59, in honor of the brand's first Le Mans win, which it achieved in its maiden attempt. Rejoining WEC gives McLaren the chance to pull off motorsport's "Triple Crown" — winning WEC's 24 Hours of Le Mans, IndyCar's Indianapolis 500, and Formula 1's Monaco Grand Prix — for a second time. McLaren won their first Indianapolis 500 with Johnny Rutherford in 1974, and its first (of 16) Monaco Grand Prix with Alain Prost in 1984; when McLaren took victory in the 1995 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas, and Masanori Sekiya in 1995, it completed the hat trick. Its LMPh entry will feature a twin-turbo V6 engine designed by McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive, produced and engineered alongside Dallara, with whom the carmaker work closely with on the IndyCar side of McLaren Racing. McLaren Racing CEO Zac Brown says he's confident that the manufacturer's F1 team and IndyCar teams are at a level that they can focus on winning in a third series. "In my mind, these are the three most important championships in the world, in all due respect to the other championships," Brown told journalists at Le Mans. "They are in line with McLaren's history and brand values and what makes sense to us." McLaren announced earlier this year that it would be leaving Formula E as the company's focus shifts towards an endurance championship. An expansion to IMSA, while not off the table, will not be pursued until at earliest 2028. Zac Brown invited James Barclay on as team principal after a long personal history with the leader who brought Jaguar Racing back to success in multiple disciplines, including Formula E and sports car racing. He will join the team in September, following the summer break. "I've known James a long time," Brown told Road & Track. "I'm a big fan of James. I'm the one that brought him in to be the team principal. I think that he has a wealth of knowledge in a variety of motorsports — certainly Le Mans, sports car racing, and having worked for OEMs in the past." "He's hungry, ready for a challenge, having had a lot of success in Formula E. He's a racer, he's commercially minded, so he understands all aspects of what it takes to be successful in racing. When you put all of those ingredients together, I think he's a perfect candidate to run the team for us." (Photo by Christopher Polk/Penske Media via Getty Images) Rod Stewart was honored at the American Music Awards on Monday (May 26), and the legendary singer appeared not only to accept a very special award, but also to perform one of his most memorable smashes. Stewart hasn't struggled to sell music in the United States for many years, but his work is rising on an important sales ranking again following the show, as people across the country have been reminded just how much they love the tunes that made him a superstar – and an award winner – in the first place. Stewart appeared at the American Music Awards to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award. His was one of three special prizes handed out this year, alongside Janet Jackson, who claimed the Icon Award, and Zac Brown — famous for his namesake band — who was the inaugural recipient of the newly-introduced Veterans Voice Award. In addition to being recognized, Stewart closed out the show with a rendition of his beloved single "Forever Young." Several of Stewart's songs began climbing the iTunes Top Songs chart in the U.S. following the broadcast. Unsurprisingly, "Forever Young" is the biggest winner, as it was prominently featured during the ceremony. As of the time of writing, the decades-old cut appears at No. 15 on the list of bestselling tracks on the most important digital download storefront. Two other beloved cuts — "Maggie May" and "You're in My Heart" — also land on the iTunes tally, appearing at Nos. 99 and 164, respectively. Stewart claims one bestseller on the iTunes Top Albums ranking. His compilation The Definitive Rod Stewart reenters the list at No. 16, nearly matching the performance of "Forever Young" on its respective tally. While several tunes have become bestsellers once more, fans typically flock to one greatest hits collection, which explains why only a single effort is present on this roster.
