Heartbreaking moment Lola Young breaks down in tears after leaving the stage

Messy singer Lola Young has broken down in tears after being hit with technical difficulties live onstage. The 24-year-old was performing during her slot at the Capital Summertime Ball over the weekend when it all went wrong. Lola was one of many huge acts performing at this year's festival at Wembley Arena in London. Other stars included in the line-up were Mariah Carey, Benson Boone, and Tate Mcrae. Lola's set was due to begin at 4:45 pm just after Zara Larsson giving her a 15 minute time slot for her to perform her best tracks. As the singer began to sing her chart-topping hit Messy her earpiece had actually stopped working. When a singer's in ear monitor (IEM) fails it can significantly impact their ability to hear themselves affecting their performance and confidence. While she struggled on stage, Lola could be heard saying: 'Sorry guys my ears are going in and out. Can I get some new ears?' Trying to continue without it she begged the crowd to: 'Sing along please.' The popstar struggled to keep in time with the music and her band exclaiming: 'It's like they're doing it on purpose.' When her set ended the star was spotted bursting into tears after hurrying offstage. In clips uploaded to TikTok Lola can be seen visibly upset and distressed from the incident, crying into her hands as her team tried to comfort her. Fans have rushed to support the star commenting messages of support, one user said: 'I really don't see how people can hate on someone for this? It was a sound issue and the crowd loved her still, I feel bad for her but she was one of the best acts!' Another chimed: 'She smashed it.' 'I felt so bad for Lola Young. Her earpiece stopped working and everything so she came off crying,' commented a third. Some fans were angry at event organiser Capital insisting it was their sound engineer who was at fault. In a rant, one fan said: 'People don't forget Lola Young is just starting she is a young talented singer. Yesterday her ear monitor stopped working, this is not hers or her band's fault at all! This is down to the sound engineer at the Capital Summertime Ball.' 'I do feel so sorry for Lola Young and my heart is with her and I hope that she is feeling okay. Capital should feel ashamed of yourself!!' they added. Lola started writing songs aged 11, and by 13 had competed in and won a national open mic competition. She was a student at the famous Brit School in Croydon which counts Adele and Amy Winehouse has past pupils. Following the success of her single Messy last year, she enjoyed sell-out UK and US tours, and also appeared at Coachella. Lola was also nominated for Best Pop Act at this year's BRIT Awards. Some fans may also not realise that Lola has nepo-baby roots her famous aunt is Julia Donaldson, the beloved author behind children's book The Gruffalo.

Zara Larsson teases surprise joint album with HUGE star as she says ‘I think she's incredible

ZARA Larsson has hinted that she's teaming up with a HUGE pop star for a surprise joint album. The Swedish singer-songwriter, 27, said she's keen to collaborate with hitmaker and Canadian artist Tate McRae on a musical project. 4 Singer Zara is supporting Tate on the North American leg of her Miss Possessive Tour in 2025. Speaking to The Sun at Capital's Summertime Ball on Sunday, Zara was asked if she was set to perform with Tate on stage. Zara replied: "That's unfortunately not going to happen. But maybe in the future, maybe we'll get like this on tour [crosses fingers]." The Can't Tame Her songstress then dropped a big spoiler, saying: "Maybe we'll get a joint album. Who knows? "But I do love her a lot and I think she's incredible. I just saw her in Stockholm. She's here tonight. Tate's tour includes dates in Europe, North America, and South America. Last month Zara expressed excitement about being the opening act and even said she wanted to cover Tate's song Revolving Doors. She said to Heart Radio: "I look forward to a show filled with a lot of chorography and a lot of singing. "I'm really going to bring my all, maybe I'll bring some fun things, maybe some glow sticks. Zara Larsson goes braless in white crop top as she leaves Radio 1 in the heatwave "The energy will be high, no sitting down in your chair." In 2023, Zara previously opened up to The Sun about the struggles to be taken seriously in the music industry as a woman. The Lush Life hitmaker admitted she has had to overcome sexism to make her name in music. The singer said: 'I think it happens everywhere when you are a young girl and you are working. 'I have been lucky to have a good team around me. 'I try to surround myself with a lot of women, I really do. 'I do feel like I have been really protected because I have always had my mom with me or I have had someone in the studio with me. 'But I have been in weird situations, sadly, and now am I even more picky with who I want to work with.' But Zara, who had her first UK No1 with Symphony featuring Clean Bandit in 2017, aged just 19, revealed that being Swedish has helped her career, particularly with pop legends ABBA sharing her nationality. She said: 'There are a lot of people before me that have paved the way for pop music but it is incredible to be Swedish and to make pop. 'Sometimes people look at you in a funny way, but when you say I am Swedish and I do pop, they gasp and say, 'You know what you are doing!' ' 4

Lola Young walks off stage in tears as Capital Summertime Ball is blighted by technical difficulties

Capital's Summertime Ball got off to a tricky start with the all-star concert blighted by technical difficulties. The annual music event took place on Sunday at Wembley Arena in London, with a slew of the world's favourite singing stars in attendance, including Lola Young. But when it came to her performance, the popstar's ear piece stopped working, causing her to walk off the stage after just two songs. During her performance of Messy Lola, 24, said: 'Sorry guys my ears are going in and out.' before shouting out, 'Can I get some new ears?' As she tried her hardest to sing along to her own lyrics, she couldn't keep in time with the band, so tried to power through, instead asking her fans to: 'Sing along please'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. After a few attempts of trying to sing again, she still couldn't hear and said to the crowd: 'It's like they're doing it on purpose' before letting the song end and then walking off the stage, appearing to be in tears. Whilst it is unknown if her set finished early, Eurovision 's Remember Monday then came on to sing their aptly named song, What The Hell Just Happened? And it wasn't just Lola's performance which seemed to have problems. Zara Larsson's mic dropped out during her time on stage and the live YouTube stream, was delayed by twenty minutes, meaning viewers were not up to speed with the performances. Fans were less than impressed, taking to social media to fume their disappointment urging Capital 'to do better'. One penned: 'i feel so bad for lola young, capital do better #CapitalSTB' 'Bring Lola Young back #messy #capitalsummertimeball #capital #CapitalFMsSummertimeBall #CapitalSTB #bringlolayoungbacknowpls' 'I feel so sorry for these artists because w*f are these technical difficulties today?! :// you're at Wembley stadium and have had months to prepare for this ffs #CapitalFMsSummertimeBall' But when it came to her performance, the popstar's ear piece stopped working, causing her to walk off the stage after just two songs 'i feel so so so so bad for lola omg #CapitalFMsSummertimeBall' 'good for lola in ears stopped working. deadass sprant back to the band so she could hear them playing and she's actually got an insanely good voice.. those belts... okay diva i'm listening... #CapitalSTB' 'Whoa, Lola Young calling out sabotage on her live vocals at Summertime Ball? That's some serious tea! Any details on what happened or who she's pointing the finger at? #CapitalSTB #LolaYoung' 'WHY IS THIS STREAM 20 MINUTES BEHIND. lola young's set being a disaster and then now i have to wait to watch reneé's set when it's happening right now???' MailOnline has contacted Capital FM and Lola Young's representative for comment. It's not the first time Lola has had to deal with unexpected problems on stage, after her debut at Coachella festival earlier this year. The singer suffered with the heat as she took unwell on stage and was forced to run off to vomit. The musician took to Instagram a week after her performance to share a video montage of herself powering through the set in between gags before she ran off asking: 'Can I get a bucket?' Yet despite the wave of nausea and sickness she still pushed through and completed her performance. Posting the series of clips from the set to her 1.4 million Instagram followers, she comically captioning the video: 'Not me doing my first Coachella & gagging & throwing up all the way through the set.' It's not the first time Lola has had to deal with unexpected things on stage, after her debut at Coachella festival earlier this year However, Lola didn't let the illness defeat her, as another clip showed her returning to the stage and twerking, and was captioned: 'And I'm back n twerking my way through the sickness.' In the final clip, she jokes to the crowd: 'That wouldn't have been cute if I threw up.' She humorously captioned it: 'If ur coming today maybe it'll be messier. Trying to hang in there with all my power.' Sharing the montage, Lola admitted nerves may have gotten the best of her: 'I was nervous guys and it was 40 bloody degrees.'

Zara Larsson wants to be 'the number one'

Zara Larsson wants to be "the number one". The 27-year-old singer views her ambitious streak as a "blessing and a curse" because her success never feels "good enough" because she is always pressuring herself to do better, which she admitted can be "kind of annoying". She told the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast: ' When you're super-ambitious, I think that's the blessing and the curse. 'You can have so many amazing things happening to you, but nothing's ever gonna be good enough for your soul… I'm a very happy person in general, I love my life, but there is still that voice in my head that will always kind of be nagging on, like, 'You can do more. You can do better'…. "It's kind of annoying to live life that way, but I just want to be, like, the number one. Even just for a moment.' Zara regrets leaving four years between her previous albums, 2017's So Good and 2021's Poster Girl and admitted she scrapped a lot of material during that time period because she didn't feel it was good enough. She said: 'I think it's probably one of my biggest mistakes to have had such a huge gap between my albums. 'I definitely had that because I felt so pressured of having to have this huge commercial follow up. I must have had five albums in those four years that I was just like, 'No, no, no, not good enough. Let's start over.'' The Midnight Sun singer pays no attention to what her fellow artists are doing and deliberately avoids new music when she's in the recording studio. She said: 'Honestly, I don't really give a f*** what other people are doing. "[When I'm recording] I usually go into podcast mode, like I listen to a lot of podcasts and a lot of ASMR and just kind of tune out from what everyone else is releasing and doing. The trends of music go up and down.' When it came to the title track for her new album, Midnight Sun, Zara had spent years working on it and scrapped a number of concepts. She admitted: 'I've probably written five songs called Midnight Sun. I'm like, 'I like that title. I really want it. Because it just reminds me of home. And also I think the more I travel and the older I get, I wanna be reminded of home and my roots and a Swedish summer night.'
