Dog the Bounty Hunter's stepson under psychiatric care after accidentally killing teenage son; Gregory Zecca sedated at Florida facility: Report
The stepson of Duane ' Dog the Bounty Hunter' Chapman has been placed under psychiatric observation following the accidental shooting of his 13-year-old son during the weekend, reports indicate. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now According to family representatives speaking to TMZ, cited by NY Post, Gregory Zecca is under medical supervision at a facility in Naples, Florida, following the tragic incident on Saturday evening where he unintentionally killed his son Anthony. The supervision is a precautionary measure due to concerns about his wellbeing. The family spokesperson clarified that Zecca's distress stems from the loss of his son, rather than any legal implications, as no charges have been filed regarding the incident. NY Post quoted TMZ in reporting that he is currently under heavy sedation during the observation period. Under the Baker Act, also known as the Florida Mental Health Act, authorities can place individuals showing severe mental health symptoms or potentially harmful behaviour under mandatory examination. The status of Zecca's admission, whether voluntary or involuntary, remains undisclosed. Zecca became part of Chapman's extended family when the bounty hunter wed Francie Frane in 2021. Both had previously lost their spouses to cancer. The families connected through their shared religious beliefs and experiences of loss, with Zecca subsequently joining Chapman's professional team. Social media evidence showed Zecca and Anthony frequenting shooting ranges together. The family has termed the incident a "tragic accident," while the Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed it as an "isolated incident" without naming individuals. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The family's official statement requested "continued prayers" as they cope with the loss of Anthony. Chapman, who has 13 other children from relationships with six different women, including four previous wives, awaits the ongoing police investigation's findings.

Dog the Bounty Hunter's 13-year-old stepgrandson killed by his dad in accidental shooting: report
Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. The stepson of Duane 'the Bounty Hunter' Chapman accidentally shot and killed the famed American TV personality's stepgrandson over the weekend, according to a report. The tragedy unfolded at the Naples, Florida apartment of Gregory Zecca – the son of Chapman's wife, Francie Frane – on Saturday night, TMZ reported. Zecca allegedly shot and killed his own son Anthony in what the family described in a statement to the outlet as a 'tragic accident', per the New York Post. The Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed to the Naples Daily News it was investigating a deadly shooting from Saturday night, calling it an 'isolated incident' without identifying anyone involved. 'We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,' representatives for Chapman and his family told TMZ. Anthony Zecca (middle bottom), Dog's stepgrandson, was killed in an accidental shooting. Picture: Instagram The incident occurred on Saturday night. Picture: Instagram Zecca — a member of Chapman's bounty team, according to TMZ — appears to have a passion for firearms. He took his son Anthony to a gun range in 2021 and that same year the father-son duo visited a gun store, according to photos shared on his Instagram. Chapman, 72, married Frane, Zecca's mother, in 2021 shortly after their respective, former spouses died. The Dog was previously married to Beth Chapman for 13 years until she died in June 2019 following a lengthy battle against throat cancer. In part, their families were united by their shared grief and patriotism. 'We understood the pain that the other one was feeling and [in] those tough days and moments, we helped each other stand up. We could cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling,' Frane said in a September 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight. 'We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak and it brought us together in this amazing way.' The tragedy unfolded at Gregory Zecca's apartment in Naples, Florida. Picture: Instagram Frane and her family, including Zecca, were quick to join in on Chapman's lifestyle. 'I know she's a hunter. Her and her two sons have hunted bow hunt, so they track, they look for things that the prey leaves behind,' Chapman said on The Dr. Oz Show in 2020. 'She just fit right in,' he added about his first bounty hunt alongside his would-be fifth wife. 'She started getting leads and writing them down, so there's more than just tracking and hunting.' Chapman also has 13 children between six different women – but he was only ever married to four of them. The Post has reached out to the Collier County Sheriff's Office for more information. Dog The Bounty Hunter's 13-Year-Old Step-Grandson Accidentally Shot Dead By Stepson
American TV personality Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman's 13-year-old step-grandson was accidentally shot and killed over the weekend by his stepson. Gregory Zecca, the son of Mr Chapman's wife, Francie Frane, from a previous marriage, reportedly shot his son, Anthony, in what has been described as a freak accident. The incident occurred Saturday night at Mr Zecca's apartment in Naples, Florida, according to TMZ. Mr Zecca works alongside Mr Chapman on his bounty hunting team and has been part of the family's operations since Mr Chapman and Ms Frane married in 2021. In a statement released through a family representative, Mr Chapman and Ms Frane said, "We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible, tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony." The family has asked for privacy as they process the loss. Authorities with the Collier County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 8 pm local time. Officials confirmed an active investigation into what they described as an "isolated incident." No arrests have been made, and identities have not been officially released. Gregory Zecca and his son appeared to share a passion for firearms, with photos on Mr Zecca's social media showing the pair visiting a gun store and shooting range in 2021. Duane Chapman is best known as a bounty hunter, former bail bondsman, and reality TV star who rose to fame after capturing fugitive Andrew Luster in 2003. This high-profile arrest led to his hit series Dog the Bounty Hunter, which aired from 2004 to 2012 and followed Mr Chapman and his family as they tracked down fugitives across the US. He later appeared in spin-off series like Dog and Beth: On the Hunt and Dog's Most Wanted. Over his decades-long career, Mr Chapman claims to have captured more than 10,000 fugitives. He has 13 children from six different women.
