'I have a family, it's upsetting,' says Abhishek Bachchan as he reacts to all the 'misinformation' about him and social media trolling: 'People who put out negativity...'
Abhishek Bachchan has been in the business for 25 years now and knows the drill of this place. Moreover, while he belongs to a family of stars - being Amitabh Bachchan , Jaya Bachchan's son, he's quite used to the flip side of fame. However, Abhishek believes in letting his work to the talking and be known for just his work. The actor who's known for movies like 'Guru', 'Yuva', 'Bunty Aur Babli', 'Dhoom', and many more, has usually maintained a dignified silence towards anything that's written about him and his family. In recent times, there's also been a lot of misinformation and negativity around his life. During a chat with ETimes, when asked why he never chose to clarify any misinformation, here's how he reacted.' He said, "Because the person who is putting out the misinformation and the lies is not interested in clarity or in correction. Previously, things that were said about me, didn't affect me. Today, I have a family and it's very upsetting. Even if I clarify something, people will turn it around. Because negative news sells. You're not me. You don't live my life. You're not answerable to the people that I'm answerable to. People who put out such negativity, have to live with their conscience. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 2025 年最紓壓的農場遊戲!無需安裝 東加:島嶼農場 立即播放 Undo They need to deal with their conscience and answer to their maker. See, it's not just me. I don't get affected. I know what the rigmarole of this place is. There are families involved. I'll give you a very good example of this whole new fad of trolling." Opening up further on social media trolling and how his friend Sikandar Kher once took a stand for him, Abhishek said, "It's so convenient to sit anonymously behind a computer screen and write the most nasty things. You do realise you're hurting somebody. No matter how thick-skinned they are, it affects them. How would you like it if somebody did that to you? A couple of years ago, I put out some post and some troll said something very nasty about me. Sikandar, who's very close to me, a very close friend, felt hurt seeing that comment. So, he replied to the troll saying, 'I dare you to come and say this on my face'." He added, "So Sikandar put his address down and said, 'Come, I'm waiting. I dare you Mr Troll to come and tell me on my face, whatever you just wrote here. If you're going to say it on the internet, I dare you to come say it to me on my face.' That person clearly will never have the guts to come and tell me this on my face. If someone comes and tells me things on my face, then I will feel they have conviction. I will respect that." Jul 02, 2025 06:02 AM IST Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan shared screen space in the political crime thriller Sarkar. He later received a scolding from Amitabh inside his car, which left him 'destroyed.' (Also read: Amitabh Bachchan bows to son Abhishek Bachchan, praises him on completing 25 years in films: 'He is worthy of praise') Amitabh Bachchan scolded Abhishek Bachchan after a tense day on the sets of Sarkar. During the interaction, Abhishek recalled the incident and began, 'The first time we shot together was for Sarkar. Ramu [Ram Gopal Varma] said that we'll do some test shoots, and then I could go away and shoot Bunty Aur Babli. This was September 2004. First day, I was panicking and sweating. He says to me, 'Shankar', and all I had to do was turn around and say, 'Ji?' I was petrified, I was literally shaking. He has that effect.' 'Isiliye maine itne saal mehnat…' He went on to add that the shoot got over and he waited in his vanity van for a while to leave after his dad left the set. But that did not happen as Amitabh knocked on his vanity van and suggested they both go home together. Abhishek then described how that ride panned out. "The entire ride back was spent in pin-drop silence. He is just looking straight. When they pulled into their bungalow's driveway, the staff got out, leaving the two of them alone in the car. He's just sitting there, and then, in 48 frames, he turned to me. 'Isiliye maine itne saal mehnat karke tumhe padhaya likhaya? Dialogue bolna aata nahi hai tumhe (Is this why I worked so hard and spent so much on your education? You can't even say a line properly).' I felt like I had murdered someone, the way he looked at me. He just destroyed me,' he said. Abhishek recently completed 25 years in films. He made his acting debut with JP Dutta's Refugee. He will be next seen in Kaalidhar Laapata, which will premiere on Zee5 on July 4.

Promising start fizzles into predictable crime drama
Rating: 2.25/5 The web series Viraatapalem - PC Meena Reporting, starring Abhignya Vuthaluru and directed by Poluru Krishna, opens with a gripping premise but gradually loses steam, devolving into a formulaic and unconvincing crime drama. Set in the fictional town of Viraatapalem during the early 1990s, the story revolves around a chilling mystery — brides being killed on their wedding day. Villagers believe a curse is behind the deaths, halting weddings for years. Enter Meena, a determined young police officer posted in the town who takes the investigation into her own hands. In a dramatic move, Meena decides to get married herself to bait the killer. What follows is a series of episodes aimed at unmasking the truth behind the so-called curse. Despite a strong setup, the series falters after the initial episodes. The pacing dips, with later episodes feeling stretched and lacking in suspense. The absence of impactful cliffhangers, a hallmark of compelling crime thrillers, makes the narrative feel monotonous. Forced twists and weak character motivations further dampen the experience, particularly the plotline involving Meena's decision to marry, which feels unnatural and contrived. Performance-wise, Abhignya Vuthaluru holds her own and manages to engage viewers despite the uninspired screenplay. Surabhi Prabhavati also performs well in a significant role, but the rest of the supporting cast fails to leave a mark. On the technical front, the series features decent cinematography but lacks polish in production design. The dialogues are effective, and editing is crisp, but the overall execution is inconsistent. Director Poluru Krishna, who earlier delivered the hit Recce, does not replicate that success here. To add to its woes, Viraatapalem has been caught in controversy, with ETV Win accusing Zee5 of lifting its concept from their show Constable Kanakam. Viraatapalem - PC Meena Reporting starts strong but ultimately disappoints due to predictable storytelling, weak writing, and a lack of genuine thrills. Apart from a decent climax twist, the show struggles to leave a lasting impression.
