Kota Kinabalu: Sabah will play host to the two-day International Zhineng Qigong Mastery Boot Camp in conjunction with the 30th Anniversary of the Association of Hwaxia Zhineng Qigong Sabah, said Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Christina Liew. She said the international event, to be held here from Aug 30-31, is yet another avenue for first-time visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Sabah and embrace what the state has to offer. 'I understand that many of the 300 participants of the Boot Camp from across Malaysia, Singapore and China are coming here for the first time. Do take the opportunity to explore the wonders of Sabah,' Liew said after receiving a courtesy call by a 12-member delegation led by the Association's Adviser Datuk Wong Poh Loon @ Teo, Thursday. Chairman of the Association of Hwazia Zhineng Qigong Sabah, Chong Yun Ming, extended an invitation to the Minister to grace the 30th Anniversary Celebration Dinner on Aug 29 at the Sabah Hakka Banquet Hall. About 500 people, including locals, are expected to attend the dinner. Briefing Liew on the gathering in Sabah, the Chairman said it is ideal for showcasing the state's colourful cultures, harmonious people and natural attractions, and promoting the state as a unique tourism destination. The programme for the night includes Sabah's ethnic cultural dances, launching of the Association's website, a cake-cutting ceremony, presentation of outstanding awards to deserving recipients, and a harmonica band jazz performance by members of the Damai Senior Citizens Association. Chong said the Association of Hwaxia Zhineng Qigong Sabah is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting Zhineng Qigong (ZQ) for personal well-being and good health. 'We are committed to sharing ZQ's health benefits with all communities across Sabah, and beyond,' he added. Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman cum Event Organising Chairman, Ho Kin Wong, said the association's vision for the future is to initiate a community health programme in residential areas where covered facilities are available such as a basketball court and a community hall. Founded by Dr Pang Ming in China, Zhineng Qigong is now practised by millions worldwide. Its science-based techniques and methodology have helped countless individuals achieve and maintain good health naturally-without medication or invasive procedures. It helps to relieve pain and suffering, while saving from huge medical bills. Also present were the Association's Deputy Chairman Sim Yut Moi, Treasurer Lim Chuk Seng and committee members. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
