New independent takeaway shop opens in town centre
A brand new takeaway shop has opened in the town centre selling authentic Italian cuisine.
Amo, which had been advertised as 'opening soon' for several months, has finally started welcoming customers.
The food stop opened its doors on April 25, and is offering both fresh slices of pizza and stuffed focaccia among other treats.
Amo's opening times are 11 am to 9.30 pm Tuesday to Friday, with a closing time of 10.30 pm on a Saturday.
They are closed on both Sundays and Mondays.
This comes as a very similar eatery has just opened in place of The Grumpy Goat.
Paolo Lanzetta welcomed customers to Zia Torre – Italian Street Food - in Union Street, Reading, back in February.
Mr Lanzetta, who moved to the UK in 2016, has worked in several Italian restaurants over the years.
He said: "It has always been my dream to open a restaurant like this so people can try authentic Italian and Nepalese cuisine.
"I found that when people come back from visiting these places, they always say that they can never find anywhere where the food tastes as good or as authentic.
"I want to offer a place for people to come and get authentic Italian food made handmade and homemade every day."
The restaurant offers a host of different pizzas including Margherita, Diavola, Zi Tore, and Ortolana.
