"Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date

Yara Sameh "Jurassic World Rebirth", the latest sequel in the Jurassic universe and the official reboot of the 31-year-old cinematic franchise, has turned out to be one of the biggest films of the year after a theatrical run that's still ongoing. While some fans have flocked to theaters and the film has accomplished one of the most successful runs in the franchise, others prefer to catch it at home, lucky for them, "Jurassic World Rebirth" indeed has a digital streaming release date. Per the site DVDs Release Dates, the seventh film in the franchise will be released on digital platforms on August 5, a little over a month after its release in theaters, giving fans a chance to watch one of the most exciting adventures of the year in the comfort of their home. "Jurassic World Rebirth" follows a group put together by a big pharma company who travel to a remote island where dinosaurs roam free. Their goal is to find genetic material from the creatures, and though the mission sounds like a piece of cake, things get complicated. The official synopsis for the film reads: 'Five years post-'Jurassic World Dominion,' an expedition braves isolated equatorial regions to extract DNA from three massive prehistoric creatures for a groundbreaking medical breakthrough.' Written by David Koepp (Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park), and directed by Gareth Edwards (The Creator, Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), the film is Universal Pictures' new approach to the franchise created by Steven Spielberg in 1993. The movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Ed Skrein, Mahershala Ali, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, Philippine Velge, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, and Bechir Sylvain. Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert hired to lead an expedition to secure genetic material from three dinosaurs; Bailey plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora's partner; and Friend plays Martin Krebs, a representative for the drug corporation financing the mission. Velge, Sylvain, and Skrein are said to play team members reporting to Zora. Patrick Crowley and Frank Marshall produce. Spielberg, who directed 'Jurassic Park' and 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park,' serves as executive producer alongside Denis L. Stewart. Spielberg previously served as executive producer on 'Jurassic Park III,' 'Jurassic World,' 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' and 'Jurassic World: Dominion.' John Mathieson served as cinematographer. 'Jurassic World Rebirth' was filmed in select locations in Thailand, London, and California. Made for $180 million, the movie has grossed nearly $530 million at the box office in less than two weeks since its release. The franchise that has made more than $6 billion at the box office. The critical reception is unfortunately not as good as the box office numbers. The critics' score at Rotten Tomatoes remains at 52%, which isn't as high as everyone expected. Nevertheless, it is clearly a film that should be measured by its audience score, which on Rotten Tomatoes sits at 71%. The Letterboxd rating is 2.8 over 5, and IMDb registers a rating of 6.2/10. Though not a franchise favorite, it's a solid result for the seventh part in the dinosaur franchise. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language

Jurassic World Rebirth Movie Review: Mutates back to original form, but not in a spectacular fashion

Set years after the events happened at Isla Nublar, Ile Saint-Hubert is both narratively and geographically distant from the former location. What forms a connection is the corporate firm InGen, which has been running operations at both sites and shifted operations totally to the Ile Saint-Hubert facility after the destruction of the one on Nublar. The introduction of a facility on a different island, run for the same purposes, serves as an apt setup for unleashing new dinosaurs that have undergone such mutations with the potential to wreak more havoc in more unthinkable ways. Characterisation was touch-and-go, as the internal conflict between the team members had the trappings of a subplot worth paying attention to. The group's headspace was effectively established without consuming much time or many scenes. But the makers decide to introduce another picnicking family marooned to tag along with the crew following their rescue. The crew's response to the family illustrates who could be who and do what in dire situations. But this play was entirely possible within the team. The family of Reuben Delgado (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), Teresa Delgado (Luna Blaise), Isabella Delgado (Audrina Miranda), and David Iacono (Xavier Dobbs) merely occupy the screen and some screentime, adding less value to the narration. The scary scenes involving little Isabella do cause tension and drama, but Zora's team isn't in any way more equipped than the family. In a battle against a creature that is superior in strength and size to any human, the child-baiting to create a thrill seemed unnecessary. This choice renders all the characters weak, preventing us from establishing an emotional connection with any of them. Neither the four primary characters nor the four other characters are explored sufficiently. If Jurassic World plans to expand, subsequent to Rebirth, the bad news is that all the characters blend into the background. Scarlett's Zora is the only role to have an arc. But it looks forced. She is this money-minded adventurer in one scene and, scenes later, wants to stop their samples from getting patented to prevent profiteering by one corporation. What brings this profound change in her? We are left waiting for answers, to no avail.

Jurassic World Rebirth Review: Scarlett Johansson starrer roars with thrills but plays it very safe

Plot Five years after Jurassic World Dominion, dinosaurs struggle to survive in most climates, except in isolated equatorial regions. A pharmaceutical company, led by Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend), hires covert operation expert Zora (Scarlett Johansson) and doctor Henry (Jonathan Bailey) to collect DNA from three massive dinosaurs in an abandoned island, for a life-saving drug. Duncan (Mahershala Ali), Zora's trusted team leader, captains their boat. Along the way, they rescue a shipwrecked family. On the island, Zora and team face deadly dinosaurs, as they try getting hold of the DNA samples. On the other hand, the shipwrecked family, independently, tries getting help after parting ways from the main group. Will Zora and team get the DNA samples that they are looking for? What happens to the shipwrecked family? Watch Jurassic World: Rebirth to find out. What Works for Jurassic World: Rebirth Jurassic World: Rebirth intends to be a genuine crowd-pleaser, and it shows. The filmmakers aim to deliver a fun and exciting experience, and their effort shines through. The visuals are stunning, with lush jungles, misty islands, and massive dinosaurs that look incredibly real. The dinosaur combat sequences are thrilling, like the entire boat attack episode, and the river chase episode. Scarlett Johansson's star power adds to the film's overall appeal. The film moves quickly, never feeling slow or boring. Overall, it's a good time at the movies. It is perfect for fans who want action-packed dinosaur chaos without overthinking the story. What Doesn't Work for Jurassic World: Rebirth Rebirth doesn't break new ground. The story feels familiar, following the same formula as earlier Jurassic Park films. It's predictable, with little you won't expect. The post-climax segment in an abandoned facility could have been exciting but it stays too basic, thus missing a chance for a big twist. Dinosaur films have lost their shock value after seven movies; the awe of seeing these creatures is fading. The franchise needs something bold and unexpected to end this new trilogy on a high note. Watch the Jurassic World: Rebirth Trailer Performances in Jurassic World: Rebirth The cast delivers solid performances. Scarlett Johansson is convincing as the tough Zora. Mahershala Ali adds depth to the film with his selfless character of Duncan. Jonathan Bailey shines as Dr. Henry. Rupert Friend is chilling as the sly Martin. The shipwrecked family, consisting of Reuben (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), Teresa (Luna Blaise), and Isabella (Audrina Miranda), give an entirely new perspective to the story. Reuben is relatable as the protective father. Blaise and Miranda make Teresa and Isabella likable. David Iacono as Teresa's boyfriend Xavier, adds humour. Other actor do well in their respective parts. Final Verdict of Jurassic World: Rebirth Jurassic World: Rebirth is a fun and visually spectacular addition to the franchise that delivers what fans expect. Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and Rupert Friend, along with the estranged family, make the characters worth rooting for. The film's earnest attempt to entertain, makes it an enjoyable summer blockbuster. However, it doesn't take risks or offer anything new, sticking to a predictable story that feels too familiar. The lack of shock value and a basic post-climax segment hold it back from being great.

‘Jurassic World Rebirth' movie review: Join Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey on a dino-stuffed thrill ride

The fourth film in the Jurassic World universe opens in 2010 on an island in the Atlantic Ocean, Ile Saint-Hubert, where dinosaur mutations are being developed to feed the public's demand for newer species. A six-limbed T-Rex mutant, Distortus rex, as mean-tempered as its name suggests, gets free and unleashes mayhem, causing the facility to be shut down. What causes the breach is a candy wrapper frying the electrics — littering is never a good habit. Years later, the dinosaurs are unable to adapt to the changed climate, surviving only near the equator where the air and temperature are what they were used to those many million years ago. Dinosaurs are not a novelty anymore and a dying Apatosaurus causing traffic to back up in the city is a major irritant and not a cause for joy or wonder. A sauropod on Silk Board Junction, on the other hand, would have been fun. Just saying. Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend), who works with a shadowy pharmaceutical company, is one of those irritated by the fallen Apatosaurus. Krebs meets with Zora (Scarlett Johansson), a scarily competent covert operative, and tells her he has a job for her. The job involves getting blood samples from three of the biggest dinosaurs — on land, in water, and air — to create a drug that will save the world and line his company's pockets till kingdom come. Offering Zora an obscene sum of money, the expedition is quickly kitted out. There is the palaeontologist offering technical expertise and a cool specimen-collection gun, Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey); the captain of the boat, Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali), and his crew, which includes Bobby (Ed Skrein), Leclerc (Bechir Sylvain) and Nina (Philippine Velge). Jurassic World Rebirth (English) Director: Gareth Edwards Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ed Skrein Run-time: 133 minutes Storyline: A team of operatives land on an island to collect blood samples from dinosaurs to save the world and naturally everything that can go wrong does As the team heads out to the island to collect the first specimen from a Mosasaurus (yes!), a family, comprising Delgado (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), his daughters Teresa (Luna Blaise) and Isabella (Audrina Miranda), and Teresa's stoner boyfriend Xavier (David Iacono), is heading to Cape Town from Barbados. They are shipwrecked after the Mosasaurus turns their boat upside down. Zora's team rescues them, but instead of heading for safety, they chase the Mosasaurus for the sample. The thrills follow fast and furious with mean dinosaurs flashing their wicked teeth. The Mosasaurus is a bit of a show-off, going round and round snapping its gargantuan jaws. Gareth Edwards, who has helmed two of the most exciting sci-fi films in recent times — Rogue Oneand The Creator — has made a film that has enough of the original Steven Spielberg DNA to keep things moving spiffily along. There are moments of silly fun, especially with Xavier. The T-Rex rolling in its sleep like a cute Labrador puppy is most adorable. The thrills, while derivative, much the all-important sample tube rolling to the edge of the cliff, deliver the requisite adrenaline rush. The cast is competent and fully invested in their characters. Johansson's Zora is tough as nails, Ali is sturdy and kind, Friend is necessarily slimy, while Bailey brings in the shock and awe at these creatures that ruled the earth so many years ago. Bailey incidentally played the clarinet on the score. Jurassic World Rebirth sounds and looks wonderful, and though it does not offer anything brilliantly new, it is the kind of summer fast food that is filling and tasty and utterly forgettable. Jurassic World Rebirth is currently running in theatres

The 'Jurassic World Rebirth' Ending Says a Lot About Our World

Spoilers below. In the universe of Jurassic World Rebirth, access to proper health care is so bad that we have to hunt dinosaurs for medicine. No, really. The premise of the latest entry in the beloved dinosaur franchise is a little ridiculous, but it's also rooted in some truth. When the film begins, we learn that the last living dinosaurs on Earth carry a rare material in their DNA—one that doubles as a life-saving drug capable of curing heart disease. The only thing is, the dinos are isolated in islands on the equator where humans are forbidden. So, Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend), the head of a pharmaceutical company called ParkerGenix, recruits mercenary Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) to arrange a crew, including her longtime friend Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali) for the impossible mission. They also bring along scientist Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey, arguably the highlight of the film!) to advise them on their secret quest. It must be done quickly and clandestinely, so they can beat other companies to the punch and capitalize on the discovery. Oh, and they can't kill the dinosaurs, because their blood is only potent when extracted from a living beast, which makes their mission even more difficult. And of course, they're going after the three biggest species by sea, land, and air: the Mosaurus, the Titanosaurus, and the Quetzalcoatlus respectively. It's insanely dangerous, but Zora and her team believe it's worth it—for the cash, naturally. Not long after they begin their mission, Dr. Loomis starts to ask an important question: Should we really be giving this drug to a private corporation? He understands that Zora and her colleagues need the money, and that this quest will mark an unbeatable milestone for his scientific career, but is that really worth helping a company profit off sick people? Throughout the crew's video game-like adventures, from rescuing the stranded Delgado family, whose sailing trip was interrupted by a ship-sized dinosaur, to climbing into a Quetzalcoatlus's nest, Loomis starts to get Zora to second-guess their end goal too. Wouldn't it be better to open-source the medicine and democratize the knowledge so that it isn't reserved for a select few? In the final confrontation, Loomis, Zora's crew, and the Delgados reunite at their end point, an abandoned town center, where a rescue team is scheduled to pick them up via helicopter. But there is a mutated monstrosity on the loose, otherwise known as the Distortus Rex (or D-Rex), in the way of their exit plan. However, what the film wants to make clear is that the real threat that emerges from the bushes—as dinosaurs in this franchise often do—is Martin Krebs. He stood by when innocent teenager Teresa Delgado (Luna Blaise) fell off their boat and is now pointing a gun at the rest of the group to hand over the DNA samples. He seems eager to keep them to himself. The group has hope for their ride, but the helicopter gets devoured by the D-Rex. There are also a couple of raptors hunting them down through buildings and underground tunnels. The best way out is a life raft waiting on the dock—but the Distortus has them cornered. Martin is eaten by the dinosaur, and Duncan lures it away into the brush so the rest of the team can make their escape. Somehow, Duncan survives too. As the survivors make their way back across the ocean, Loomis asks Zora who they'll give the DNA samples to. 'Everyone,' she replies. It's meant to be a quietly triumphant ending—victory over human greed, as many films have shown us before. But depending on your situation, it might come off as inspiring or insulting the moment you step out of the theater. Aside from the dinosaurs, hybrid monsters, and impossible survival statistics, the prospect of democratized medicine seems depressingly unrealistic in our current world. Just today, the House of Representatives passed a domestic policy bill that includes Medicaid cuts and benefits for drugmakers. In the non-Jurassic world, to quote Jeff Goldblum in the original films, 'Life finds a way…' But, it seems, only for those who can afford it. Of course, it's possible that Zora's altruistic choice is really just a wink at the potential for extending the franchise—this time with Johansson, Bailey, and Ali leading the charge. It also isn't all smooth sailing from here; while open-sourcing life-saving DNA sounds great in theory, it's also very possible that it ends up in the wrong hands and some bad actors exploit the dino data to create their own monsters. But if that battle comes in a future film, at least those characters won't have to worry about heart disease.
