Warning: These emojis could mean your partner is cheating according to a private investigator
The Coldplay kiss-cam scandal – which saw a married boss and his alleged mistress caught in an embrace on the big screen – has become a global talking point. But, while the story went viral, there may be a far less public and more discreet way to spot your partner is cheating. A top private investigator told Fabulous the secret code cheaters are using to hide affairs on their phones. While some go to extreme lengths to cover their tracks, others are using something far more subtle: emojis. According to Paul Jones from ARF Private Investigators, apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat have become a hotbed for hidden relationships, with secret codes, archived chats and sneaky symbols replacing the traditional love letter. People often think of cheating as something obvious such as flirty photos, late nights or secret calls. But Paul says many of the cases he works on start with something as small as a random emoji. Sneaky symbols He told The Sun: 'Over the past year we've seen an increase in people using everyday symbols as a way to communicate without getting caught. 'On the surface, it might look innocent, but there's usually a deeper meaning.' One of the most common signs? A flurry of harmless-looking messages with the croissant or padlock emojis. If these symbols are in your partner's most-used emojis – found by clicking the emoji icon on the keyboard when typing a message – it could be an indicator they are being used for an affair. These symbols may mean nothing to you, but to someone cheating, they are code for dinners, hook-ups, or secret messages. Paul added: 'We've had people using a croissant emoji as a way of saying 'meet me for breakfast', or the letter emoji as a subtle 'text me when you're free'. 'It's like their own language, one that their partner isn't meant to understand.' Here are just a few examples Paul has seen used in real cases: The private investigator added: 'Used once or twice they don't mean much. 'But when you see them appearing regularly in chats with the same person, especially late at night, they start to mean something more.' Warning signs So what phone habits should you look out for with your partner? Paul continued: 'Start with your gut. 'If your partner suddenly starts hiding their phone, keeping conversations short, or you notice new contacts with strange names or emojis, that's when you should start asking questions.' Four red flags your partner is cheating Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating. They start to take their phone everywhere with them In close relationships, it's normal to know each other's passwords and use each other's phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something. Aaron says: 'If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.' 'You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.' They start telling you less about their day When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you. 'If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don't want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.' 'Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it's an easy way to get caught out,' says Aaron. Their libido changes Your partner's libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron. 'Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating,' Aaron said. 'You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren't there before.' They become negative towards you Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify. 'To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere,' Aaron warns. 'Maybe you haven't walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime. A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating.'

Ludhiana: 50k dormant ration card holders to lose benefits
Over 50,000 beneficiaries of the public distribution system in the district will be removed from the list of households eligible for ration as the central government has amended the rules to weed out the users dormant for over the last six months. For the beneficiaries who have been identified as duplicates within or outside the state, their ration cards will be temporarily disabled. (HT Photo) In a notification on July 22, the ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution issued an order to amend the Targeted Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2015. 'The state government shall temporarily disable ration cards of beneficiaries who haven't used their entitlements in the last six months,' the order read, adding, 'Thereafter, the state government shall conduct e-KYC by conducting field verification within the next three months to re-evaluate the ration card, determine eligibility and take appropriate action.' 'The users who have not availed the entitlements for over six months will be notified as not eligible for ration (NER),' said Sartaj Singh Cheema, district controller, food and civil supplies (DFSC). In a city like Ludhiana which has a significant migrant population, the problem emerges as people who register here for a while and then go back to their native places. As per the district food and civil supplies department, 52,077 beneficiaries of the public distribution system have not used their ration cards for the last six to 12 months. 'Migrant workers come here and get a ration card and then after some time they leave for home. However their ration cards remain active. New applicants can't get their cards made due to the existing burden. No new ration cards could be made since 2013 due to this,' said Karamjit Singh, state president, All India Fair Price Shop Dealers' Federation. This change, Karamjit said, will not only open the way for new ration cards for the people waiting since 2013 but also facilitate the 15,000 e-Shram card holders to avail the benefits of the public distribution system. E-Shram card holders are labourers who don't have ration cards here but are eligible for benefits under the public distribution scheme. 'Since the system was stretched thin with the number of beneficiaries and the list was not refreshed even after people migrated or died, the new beneficiaries could not be enrolled in the scheme,' he added. The order also calls upon the state government to conduct e-KYC by conducting field verification within the next three months to re-evaluate the ration card, determine eligibility, and take appropriate action. 'If the beneficiaries notified as NERs aren't verified in three months then the state government can take the decision to delete their names from the system as well,' said DFSC Cheema. For the beneficiaries who have been identified as duplicates within or outside the state, their ration cards will be temporarily disabled. They will be given a window of three months to revalidate or prove their eligibility by providing necessary documents and e-KYC. To maintain effectiveness in the system, the new order also asks the state governments to review the list of eligible households every five years for deletion of ineligible households or inclusion of eligible households, and perform mandatory e-KYC. For the issuance of new ration cards and maintaining transparency in the process, the order instructs the state government to use the first-in first-out method and display a waiting list in the public domain, including on the state web-portal, allowing users to track their application status in real-time.

In a new biography written by filmmaker Shawn Levy, "Clint: The Man and The Movies," the legendary actor's life behind the camera is examined through past quotes from Eastwood and various peers who shed insight into his extensive romantic past and "addictive" affairs he had while married to his first wife, Maggie Johnson, and other partners. "His affairs, he later admitted to Richard Schickel, 'just became … I don't know … addictive … like you have to have another cigarette,'" Levy wrote in the book, quoting Eastwood. Throughout their 21-year marriage, Eastwood had many affairs with various women and fathered multiple children. "There were many other women, some from the ranks of classmates, some encountered at the nightspots and jazz clubs that he frequented, some from among his neighbors at the apartment complex in Studio City, near Universal, to which he and Maggie had moved when he first went under contract to the studio," Levy wrote in the book. "The atmosphere of that small apartment building — which, naturally, was centered around a swimming pool — not only encouraged sexual adventures but facilitated them; several of Clint's friends from Oakland, Seattle, and Fort Ord moved into the place or similar places nearby, meaning that there were always apartments readily available for a quick tryst — and buddies willing to help him cover his tracks." According to Levy, Eastwood was always upfront about his behavior and allegedly had an "understanding" with Johnson. "It wasn't entirely evident, though, that he needed such help. And Clint himself admitted, 'She is the very best friend I have. She loved me when no one else did.'" Panaji cleanest among small cities in country
Panaji: President Droupadi Murmu presented the 'Swachh Sheher' award to Panaji at a function organised by the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs in New Delhi on Thursday. Panaji stood first among small cities in the country with a population of 20,000 to 50,000. Sanquelim featured in the list of small towns that show promise in being clean, bagging the ninth position at the all-India level and second among all municipalities in Goa. Both the awards were received by urban development minister Vishwajit Rane. Speaking at the urban development ministers' meet on the sidelines of the award function, Rane shared Goa's hybrid approach to waste management through Goa Waste Management Corporation and public-private participation. 'With digital innovation, decentralised systems, and energy-efficient waste processing, we aim to make Goa a model state for responsible and futuristic urban development,' said Rane 'With a strong institutional framework led by GWMC and continuous support from state govt, Goa is steadily progressing toward zero-waste cities by 2027.' In comparison to Panaji and Sanquelim, Mormugao stood third among all the towns in Goa, followed by Ponda and Margao in the fifth position. Sanguem fared poorly among Goan towns, scoring zero for waste processing, remediation of dump sites, cleanliness of water bodies, and public toilets. 'Goa is redefining urban sanitation through technology-driven governance and citizen-centric policies — from QR-coded waste tracking in Panaji and Bicholim to 100% door-to-door waste collection across all urban local bodies,' said Rane. Speaking at the award ceremony, Murmu said that Swachh Survekshan has proven to be a successful experiment in assessing and encouraging the efforts made by cities towards cleanliness. The cleanliness survey was conducted by the ministry of housing and urban affairs for the year 2024, with participation from various stakeholders, state govts, urban bodies, and approximately 14 crore citizens. Nationally, Indore, Surat, and Navi Mumbai entered the premier Super Swachh League, with Indore continuing its reign as the cleanest city in the country. The new generation of clean cities were Ahmedabad, Bhopal, and Lucknow, which emerged as the top 'Swachh Shehar' or clean cities. Following the 'One City, One Award' principle, the ministry of housing and urban affairs recognised the top-performing cities from each state as Promising Swachh Shehars.
