Ukrainian drones target Moscow and other Russian regions
Russia's air defenses destroyed dozens of incoming Ukrainian drones across multiple regions on Sunday night and early Monday morning, as Kiev continues to intensify UAV raids deep into Russian territory. At least nine drones headed toward the Russian capital were intercepted by 3:00am Monday, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said on Telegram, adding that emergency services were working at the crash sites where debris fell. The raids also affected Russia's southern Rostov Region, where Governor Yury Slyusar reported multiple interceptions in the towns of Shakhty, Novoshakhtinsk, and Novocherkassk. There were no casualties, according to the governor, but one UAV damaged the 'old control room' of a railway station in a mining settlement near Shakhty. Debris from another drone struck a private house, a summer kitchen, and two cars in a nearby village, Slyusar said. Kiev has significantly stepped up long-range UAV strikes over the past week, with the Russian Defense Ministry reporting multiple waves of drone interceptions each day. In its latest update, the ministry said a total of 43 drones were downed in less than four hours between 8:00pm and 11:30pm on Sunday across the Bryansk, Oryol, Kaluga, Belgorod, and Moscow regions. The Russian government has previously denounced such raids as 'terrorist attacks,' claiming they often target residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. In response, the Russian military carried out a series of strikes last week on Ukrainian defense industrial facilities involved in the production of drones and missile components.

Iran says it replaced air defenses damaged in Israel war
Iran has replaced air defenses damaged during last month's conflict with Israel, Iran's Defah Press news agency reported on Sunday, quoting Mahmoud Mousavi, the regular army's deputy for operations. During the conflict in June, Israel's air force dominated Iran's airspace and dealt a heavy blow to the country's air defenses while Iranian armed forces launched successive barrages of missiles and drones on Israeli territory. "Some of our air defenses were damaged; this is not something we can hide, but our colleagues have used domestic resources and replaced them with pre-arranged systems that were stored in suitable locations in order to keep the airspace secure," Mousavi said. Russia downs 73 Ukrainian drones, including three flying to Moscow
Russian air defenses destroyed 73 Ukrainian drones overnight, including three heading for Moscow, Russia's defense ministry said on of the drones were downed over Russia's southwestern regions, including 31 over the Bryansk region that borders Ukraine, the ministry said on the Telegram messaging Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, writing on Telegram, made no mention of casualties or damage, but said emergency services were examining the area where drone fragments fell to the ground. The federal aviation agency, Rosaviatsia, briefly ordered the suspension of operations at two airports near the capital, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky, but services were later were halted well after midnight at a third Moscow airport, Vnukovo before being reinstated by the morning. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine about the attacks. Kyiv says that its strikes inside Russia are necessary to destroy infrastructure key to Moscow's efforts in its war against Ukraine, now in its fourth year.

Trump Agrees to Sell NATO Weapons for Ukraine
President Trump announced a deal with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization that would send weapons and air defenses to Ukraine within days. 'We've made a deal today where we are going to be sending them weapons and they're going to be paying for them,' Trump said, sitting next to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. 'We're not buying it, but we will manufacture it, and they're going to be paying for it.'

Russian drones strike Ukraine's 2nd-largest city, damaging a maternity hospital
A Russian drone barrage targeted the center of Kharkiv on Friday, injuring nine people and damaging a maternity hospital in Ukraine's second-largest city, officials said. Mothers with newborns were being evacuated to a different medical facility, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov wrote on Telegram. He didn't say whether anyone at the hospital was among the injured. Russia's recent escalation of long-range Shahed drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, which often also include ballistic and cruise missiles as well as powerful glide bombs, has brought renewed urgency to efforts to improve Ukraine's air defenses after more than three years of war. 'There is no silence in Ukraine,' Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after the Kharkiv bombardment. Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, has endured repeated and intensifying drone attacks in recent weeks, as have many other regions of the country. June brought the highest monthly civilian casualties of the past three years, with 232 people killed and 1,343 wounded, the U.N. human rights mission in Ukraine said Thursday. Russia launched 10 times more drones and missiles in June than in the same month last year, it said. At the same time, Russia's bigger army is pressing hard on parts of the 1,000-kilometer (620-mile) front line, where thousands of soldiers on both sides have died since the Kremlin ordered the invasion of neighboring Ukraine in February 2022. Zelenskyy urged Ukraine's Western partners to quickly enact pledges of help they made at an international meeting in Rome on Thursday. Ukraine desperately needs more U.S.-made Patriot air defense systems to stop Russian missiles and more interceptor drones to bring down the Russian-made Shaheds, he said. Russia reportedly has expedited drone production, and Zelenskyy said Moscow plans to manufacture up to 1,000 drones a day. Zelenskyy said Thursday that talks with U.S. President Donald Trump have been 'very constructive,' even though the administration has given conflicting signals about its readiness to provide more vital military aid. Zelenskyy said he is minded to replace his ambassador to the U.S., Oksana Markarova, with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Ukraine has asked foreign countries to supply it with another 10 Patriot systems and missiles, Zelenskyy said. Germany is ready to buy two systems and Norway has agreed to buy one, which will be passed on to Ukraine, he said. Trump said late Thursday that the U.S. is sending weapons to other NATO countries, which are paying Washington for them and giving them to Ukraine. A new bipartisan U.S. sanctions package that aims to force Russia to the negotiating table could go to a vote in the Senate before the August recess, its backers Republican Sen. The bill calls for a 500% tariff on goods from countries that continue to buy Russian oil, gas, uranium and other exports. After repeated Russian drone and missile onslaughts in Kyiv, authorities announced Friday they are establishing a comprehensive drone interception system under a project called 'Clear Sky.' The project includes a 260-million-hryvnia ($6.2 million) investment in interceptor drones, operator training, and new mobile response units, according to the head of the Kyiv Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko. Zelenskyy appealed to foreign partners to help Ukraine accelerate the production of the newly-developed interceptor drones, which have proved successful against Shaheds.
