How Katy Perry hinted at Orlando Bloom split in heartbreaking song about BETRAYAL on new album

Fans of Katy Perry believe that the pop star may have hinted at her split with Orlando Bloom on her recent album, 143. While the majority of Katy's 143 is a celebration of love and womanhood, one dark track on the album called Truth stands out for its lyrics about the demise of a relationship. 'I wanna know the truth / Even if it hurts me,' Perry sings on the chorus. 'I got a vision keepin' me up at night / My intuition's tellin' me things ain't right,' she continued. 'Can't look in the mirror, what is it you're tryna hide? / Can't give me your password to your phone, not start a fight / You're treating me different, tell me what's going through your mind? 'You're acting so distant, who you see when you close your eyes?' Eventually the lyrics change tone in the song and Katy finds the strength to walk away from her painful relationship. 'I look in the mirror / See someone who's calm and strong / I've never been clearer / I'm at peace with moving on,' she sings through heavy autotune. 'I'm seein' it different / Now that I'm outside of the storm / I'm feeling the distance / It's always dark before the dawn.' Although the song received little attention when it was first released, fans are now revisiting it in the wake of the couple's reported split. 'Who's here after the breakup rumors?' one fan commented on YouTube. 'So is this song about Orlando?' asked another while a third commented, 'Did he do something? Cause even back then I did think this song is so odd to be in a full love album.' Perry and Bloom called it quits following weeks of escalating tension after nearly a decade of their on–off relationship, six years of being engaged and one child together. This comes just shortly after the 40-year-old pop star went to space, drawing significant backlash amid viral videos trolling her world tour and her poor-performing album 143. 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,' a source told Us Weekly, adding that the break-up was so far 'not contentious.' 'Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life,' they said. The source described the alleged split as 'a long time coming' and claimed their relations 'have been tense for months.' For now, Katy is reportedly staying 'distracted' with her tour and caring for her and Orlando's four-year-old daughter Daisy, who was seen joining her while the 48-year-old English actor was elsewhere. However, the Lord Of The Rings star later returned to Australia — where Katy has spent the month of June on tour — and reunited with his fiancée and daughter over the past week. Despite once again being on the same continent as her fiancé, Katy has been spotted multiple times without her wedding ring in Australia. Katy released 143 last September to disappointing results on the charts and scathing reviews from critics. Album 143 - which references the expression 'I love you', but is also what Katy considers to be her symbolic 'angel number' - was her first album in four years, following Smile in 2020. The album missed the top five on the charts and failed to yield any hit singles. Lead single Woman's World peaked at No. 63 before disappearing, while follow up tracks Lifetimes and I'm His, He's Mine missed the charts entirely.

EXCLUSIVE Katy Perry's glaring outfit detail amid Orlando Bloom tension speculation

Amid rumors of 'tension' in her relationship with Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry was noticeably without her engagement ring this past weekend. While Katy doesn't always wear the unmissable, floral-inspired ruby ring Bloom proposed to her with in 2019, it's absence was intriguing given the fresh scrutiny into her relationship. Perry's ring hand was noticeably bare during a visit to Luna Park in Sydney, Australia on Sunday with her four-year-old daughter Daisy, whom she shares with Bloom. Though she wore several gold bands, none were on her actual ring finger. The outing came amid a People report claiming Katy's poorly-performing album 143 has caused 'tension' in her relationship with her fiance. The singer's seventh studio album, 143, was released in September 2024, and received a largely negative response from fans as well as critics, who claimed the record sounds 'generated through AI.' Perry's ring finger was noticeably bare and without the floral inspired engagement ring Bloom proposed to her with in 2019 Perry's relationship with Orlando reportedly endured 'stress' after disappointment she endured from her 143 album and subsequent world tour; pictured September 'Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album. It made her very stressed,' a source told People on Monday. 'Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension,' the insider added. Another source shared: 'She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It's put stress on their relationship.' Perry and Bloom first met in January 2016. They had a brief breakup in 2017, but later reconciled by March 2018. The pair got engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019 and welcomed their daughter in August 2020. Bloom also has a 13-year-old son named Flynn with his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr, 42. 143 - which references the expression 'I love you', but is also what Perry considers to be her symbolic 'angel number' - is her first album in four years, following Smile in 2020. Much of the criticism even before the album was released was down to Perry's decision to work with her old music producer Dr. Luke, who ended his long-standing legal battle with Kesha in 2023 after she accused him of rape, which he strenuously denied. Perry is currently touring the world as part of her Lifetimes Tour. It recently has emerged that Katy has not been invited back to continue her Las Vegas residency as her career continues to suffer from the backlash of her Blue Origin space trip and disastrous world tour. The California Gurls singer has faced an onslaught of criticism over her 11-minute space flight which saw her join Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez for the all-female trip in April. Shortly after the flight, Perry kicked off her Lifetimes tour in support of her seventh studio album, which was widely panned by critics on its release in September. The tour has suffered from a series of setbacks - including a delayed start in Minnesota that forced fans to stand around for hours - that have led to low ticket sales and canceled dates. The former American Idol judge has also been suffering severe backlash ever since her space tourist trip on Blue Origin's New Shepard NS-31 mission. Perry was seen floating inside the capsule holding a daisy in a nod to her daughter Daisy. She was ridiculed on landing back to Earth and emerging with the flower in hand which she held to the sky before dropping to her knees and kissing the ground. She then proceeded to claim she was 'super connected to love' and thanked a reporter who incorrectly referred to her as an astronaut. 'It's not about singing my songs. It's about a collective energy in there. It's about us. It's about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging,' she said in a post-flight interview. 'And it's about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth.' It wasn't long before she was branded 'tone deaf' and 'dramatic' for her actions, which came days after NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore returned to Earth after being stranded in space for more than nine months. Her much-maligned Lifetimes Tour has been hit with accusations of copying other pop stars, including Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter. During her show to a sold-out crowd at Chicago's United Center on May 12, the singer addressed being the 'most hated person on the Internet. In a video captured by a fan, the star takes a moment to look around at her fans, and says: 'Well, I thought I was the most hated person on the internet. I think that's false.'

KATY Perry and Orlando Bloom have recently endured a 'rough patch' with the pair also embroiled in a tense period ahead of their wedding. An insider has told People that the couple have endured a "rough patch" after she was disappointed with the reception for her album 143, which came out last September. "Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album," a source told the outlet. They explained how it made her "very stressed" and despite Orlando being "understanding" it did cause "some tension". A second source then revealed: "She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It's put stress on their relationship." Meanwhile, a source speaking to Us Weekly stated: "They have been spending more and more time apart. "They've grown apart and aren't living the same lives anymore." 'WEDDING DATE NEVER SET' A different insider then told the outlet that despite having been engaged for six years, the two superstars never set a date for their nuptials. The source claimed that they "never set a date for the wedding or got around to planning anything". They also claimed "Orlando is 'over it'," adding that "things aren't good". The U.S. Sun approached both Katy and Orlando's representatives for comment. Last autumn, ahead of Katy's album launch, things between the pair seemed to be on the right track when they packed on PDA at the MTV VMAs. Orlando announced Katy by her real name as he presented her with the iconic Vanguard award at the ceremony on September 12. Fans were stunned when Orlando, whom Katy has been in a relationship with since 2016, announced the winner of the award as Katheryn Hudson. She followed with throwback photos and videos of her sharing the news of her first pregnancy. Orlando sweetly referenced the singer's birth name, before adding, "Katy Perry!" He then added, "You fell in love with her as Katy Perry, I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson. "You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor into every song she writes and every music video she creates. "I know her as a mother, as a partner who brings that same love and joy to our family," he went on. Not only did he give a gushing and glowing speech about his wife-to-be, but they even embraced on-stage and shared a very public smooch, too. 6 6 6
