PM saddened by deaths of family in submerged car tragedy
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended condolences to the relatives of a family of six found dead after their car was discovered submerged in Sungai Korok, Jitra today.
"I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by the news of this heartbreaking tragedy involving the family of six.
"My heartfelt condolences to all the victims' family members. May they be granted strength in facing this immense hardship and may their souls be showered with blessings and placed among the righteous," he said in a statement today.
Earlier today, the family of six, reported missing since last Saturday , was found inside a Proton Iswara that had plunged into Sungai Korok, Jitra, Kedah.
As of 10.27am, fire and rescue personnel from the Jitra Fire and Rescue station were in the process of retrieving the bodies.
The victims were a married couple and their four children, aged between six months and nine years.
