Kegworth Angling Club 'broken-hearted' after arson attack
Members of an angling club have been left "broken-hearted" after equipment was stolen from a container which was later set on and water pumps were among the thousands of pounds of items stolen and damaged at Kegworth Angling Club in Leicestershire. Club treasurer Pete Baker said "we've lost everything" but added he was "overwhelmed" by the community's generosity after he received offers of equipment and financial Police is investigating the incident on Saturday 19 July and has urged anyone with information to come forward. Swindon angling club members work to improve local lagoon
Members of an angling club have been working to improve Peatmoor Lagoon. Peatmoor Angling Group, which has been growing in strength, gathered on July 13, to install new fishing platforms, clear fallen trees, and cut back overgrown areas. Ted Rowe, the club's secretary, expressed pride in working alongside the group of volunteers who gave up their time and energy to improve the lagoon for the community. He also thanked GA Plant Hire and Aggregates for providing a machine, and Sean Enevoldsen, whose digger-driving skills kept things moving smoothly. A special mention was given to Brian Tuck for keeping everyone hydrated and protected from the sun. Thanks to the dedication and community spirit of Peatmoor Angling Club, Peatmoor Lagoon is becoming a safer and more welcoming space for everyone. The club plans to continue its work to further improve the area.
