I do my ‘big shop' with yellow stickers every week for £22 – here's the best time to shop, it's NOT before closing

A CLEVER mum has revealed how she gets her weekly shop for as little as £22 with yellow sticker bargains. The UK-based mum took to social media to share the hack which saw her score a huge stash of food for a bargain price. 2 In the clip, the mum sat outside the car park of her local Morrison's store as she shared her hack. And while many assume closing time prices were better, the mum urged people to try a different time and a specific day. She said: "We've been keeping a little secret because we like saving money." "Everyone that we tell is like, 'Oh my God, that's incredible.'" The mum and her partner said that on a Sunday they head down to Morrison's and wait for the store to open. She then races towards the 'whoopsie fridge', a place where products that have been slashed in price are put. Inside, there's a whole host of goodies to grab on a budget. She added: "Everything is reduced by 90% more or less. Now my fridge is full, I have meal plans done and it costs us 22 quid." When she got back home, she shared her massive haul of goodies. The mum was able to find a pack of six chicken breasts reduced to £1.30, yoghurts, fish, pork, ribeye steaks, cod fillets, sausages, burgers, lamb kofta, fruit, fish pie and prawns. She revealed that the shop should have cost her £111 but she got it for just £22. The mum planned to put the meat in the freezer to make sure it lasted and was happy to share her hack. The clip went viral on her TikTok account @ hiltontraveltales with over 154k views and 4,000 likes. People were quick to thank her in the comments. One person wrote: "I do this and freeze it, I save so much." How to save at Morrisons Buying a delivery pass can slash the cost of shopping online if you're a Morrisons regular. You also get priorities for Christmas delivery slots. How much it costs depends on which you get anytime or mid-week, and if it's for the year, six-months or monthly. You'll need to work out the cost compared to how much you spend on delivery without one to see if it's worthwhile. Morrisons does a range of wonky veg that can work out cheaper than the main range. Check websites like Quidco and TopCashback BEFORE you place your order. Cashback websites PAY you to shop. All you have to do is click through their links and the money is added to your online account. Search for discount codes on websites like and to see if you can get money off at the till. Follow your favourite shops on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and sign up to its deals newsletter to get the latest on any offers. We post the best deals in our Sun Money FB group too. Try switching all of your branded or premium goods for lower level ones and see if you notice the difference. Morrisons regularly adds new products to its 'own-brand "savers" range. This is its value range where prices start from as little as 20p. It includes all sorts of products including peas, spaghetti, marmalade, jaffa cakes and washing up liquid. Swap your usual items for savers alternatives and see if you can tell the difference. Shoppers can earn points with the More Than loyalty scheme when they spend online or in store. How many points you earn will depend on the offers available at the time, plus you get five points for every litre of fuel at Morrisons petrol stations. Reach 5,000 points and you get £5 off your shopping, plus there are other offers and coupons and the checkout and via the app. Shoppers also get cheaper prices that are just for members. Another commented: "Love a bargain, well done." "Amazing, well done folks," penned a third. Meanwhile a fourth said: "The last time your fridge will be full for a long time, watch that queue quadruple by next Sunday." "Fabulous! If it helps anyone then all for it!" she replied. "I'm trying this,' claimed a fifth

Parents ‘need' £7.99 Home Bargains buy that keeps babies cool – it ‘works wonders' & can be clipped onto cots or prams

PARENTS are racing to their nearest Home Bargains store, desperate to nab a purse-friendly product that will keep babies cool as the temperatures soar. So with the weather continuing to leave us all feeling hot and bothered, if you're desperately searching for ways to cool your little ones down, you won't want to miss this. 4 4 One mother was left overjoyed after browsing the aisles in her local Home Bargains, when she spotted a cheap find that's perfect for summer. Not only is it said to 'work wonders', but it can be clipped onto prams, cots or even car seats too. Thrilled with her find, Billie-May Rogers eagerly raced to social media to alert others to her find, leaving many totally stunned. Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private Facebook group with 2.6 million members, Billie-May uploaded snaps of her new Pifco Clip-On Fan, which she attached to her child's pushchair. Alongside the post, the savvy shopper beamed: 'To parents in this heat - £7.99 in Home Bargains. 'Chargeable and much stronger than the baby clip on ones (mine broke after one use). 'Clips on to the pram and fully rotational.' Thanks to the Pifco Clip-On Fan, which is available in three colours - black, grey and white - your little darlings are sure to stay cool wherever they go. According to the product listing, this bargain buy is 'portable, wireless, and rechargeable' and it is said to 'easily clip onto any surface'. Not only does it offer a refreshing breeze with its 360° tilt function, but it's perfect for those hot days or stuffy spaces too. And it's clear that Facebook users were clearly left impressed by the affordable fan, as Billie-May's post has quickly amassed 464 likes and 920 comments in just 15 hours. One person said: 'Need this.' Five ways to keep your kids cool in the heat IT can be really difficult - and costly - to keep kids cool when it's hot outside. But Fabulous Digital Senior Reporter and mum-of-two Sarah Bull shares five ways to help, and they won't break the budget either. Strip them off It might sound simple, but stripping kids off at home can really help them regulate their temperature when it's warm outside. Just remember to regularly apply suncream, as more of their skin will be exposed to the sun. Cool down bedrooms before nighttime When it's hot outside, it can be difficult for kids to go to sleep - especially if their bedroom feels like an oven. If you have a room that's not in direct sunshine, keep the windows open to let in a breeze. It's also a good idea to keep the curtains closed, to prevent the room from heating up. Wear a hat Another simple technique, but one that really works. Make sure that if your kids are playing outside, they've got a hat on. It keeps their face and head shielded from the sun, and also helps if you've got a little one who struggles with bright sunlight. If your tot struggles to keep a hat on, try one with a strap that goes under the chin to help. Avoid the car The car can be one of the hottest places during a heatwave, and often takes a long time to cool down. If you have the option, it's better to stay at home rather than taking kids out anywhere in a hot car. Stay hydrated This is always important, but even more so in a heatwave. Make sure you're regularly reminding your kids to have a drink, and top them up with cool liquids whenever you can. Use ice too to ensure it's as cold as it can possibly be. Another added: 'This looks good.' Whilst a third person tagged a bargain hunter and begged: 'Please grab me one of these!' At the same time, many happy shoppers eagerly raced to the comments to share their rave reviews on the affordable fans. One parent commented: 'Got one of these two years ago for my toddler and it's a godsend!!' How to keep cool in a heatwave Most of us welcome hot weather, but when it's too hot, there are health risks. Here are three ways to keep cool according to the NHS... Keep out of the heat if you can. If you have to go outside, stay in the shade especially between 11am and 3pm, wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothes, and avoid exercise or activity that makes you hotter. Cool yourself down. Have cold food and drinks, avoid alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks, and have a cool shower or put cool water on your skin or clothes. Keep your living space cool. Close windows during the day and open them at night when the temperature outside has gone down. Electric fans can help if the temperature is below 35 degrees. Check the temperature of rooms, especially where people at higher risk live and sleep. A second user claimed: 'Best thing I brought two years ago and still going now.' Someone else beamed: 'Yep mine's brilliant, best I've bought. Side of bed, back of car for dog and on him in his bed.' Meanwhile, one Home Bargains fan shared: 'I have two of these, work wonders.'

EOFY Sale 2025: Best Early Samsung Deals in Australia

If there's one discount bonanza worth keeping up with, it's the end of year financial (EOFY) sales. Retailers offer huge price drops to help clear our old stock and make way for the new, which is great news for shoppers wanting to snag a bargain. And Samsung is one major household name to have on your wishlist, especially with staple whitegoods like refrigerators and washing machines also on the menu. There's still just under two weeks to go until the big day – June 30 – but we're already seeing incredible deals from the global leader, including their latest AI-powered Galaxy S25 smartphone line-up. Even the Galaxy S24, which only launched last year, is on sale for just $749 (down from $1249). Or if a smartwatch is on your wishlist, you can slap 30 per cent off the Galaxy Watch7 (now $384.30, down from $549). Although for me, the hero deal is the Samsung 9kg Smart Front Load Washer with Steam Wash Cycle. Hunting for laundry appliances can be a nightmare, but this model has a decently large capacity for $749 (down from $999) plus nifty programs like Super Speed and Less Microfibre. Need a new screen? Get up to $2000 off Samsung TVs and up to $1000 off gaming monitors. QUICK LINKS BEST EARLY EOFY SAMSUNG PHONE DEALS See more Samsung EOFY sales. You can trade-in an eligible device, even if it's old or damaged, and use the credit towards a new Galaxy product (aka smartphones as well as watches, tablets and anything also from the range). Samsung similarly has an Appliance Trade-Up program which allows you to get a discount on your new model and have the old item recycled. This includes removing broken appliances as well as uninstall and dismount, and there's no need to package everything up for pick-up. Both the delivery and collection will happen at the same time, which is also handy. WHEN IS THE END OF FINANCIAL YEAR SALE 2025? There's no official start date for the end of financial year sales, but most retailers typically trickle in discounts from early June and ramp it up as gets closer to June 30. It's especially worth using sites such as Topcashback, Quidco and app Jamdoughnut when buying bigger ticket items such as garden furniture as you'll get a nice kickback.

Sydney Airport auctions off thousands of lost property items - from laptops to designer goods. Here's how to snap up bargains

Thousands of items left behind at Sydney Airport - from high-end tech gadgets to forgotten surfboards and designer items - are set to go under the hammer, with bidding starting at just $10. The annual Sydney Airport Lost Property Auction has returned - and it's not just savvy shoppers logging on to the online sale, which features over 2,000 unclaimed items. The auction gives shoppers the chance to browse through the treasure trove of items, including cameras, gaming consoles, jewellery, watches, perfumes, as well as plenty of one-offs like a giant teddy bear, a vacuum cleaner and even a frying pan. There are dozens of handbags and wallets, sporting equipment such as bikes, surfboards, and golf clubs, hair styling tools, sunglasses, alcohol Kindles, and toys. Shoppers looking to snap up big ticket items can expect to find laptops, headphones, coffee machine, and even the Lord of the Rings book collection. The auction, run by Theodore Bruce Auctioneers, is now live and will roll out across five days, with five categories closing between June 9 and June 12. The real draw is the cause: all proceeds will go toward free swimming lessons and water safety programs for families doing it tough amid ongoing cost-of-living pressures. Tech and gaming closes at 11am on June 9; jewellery and watches at 11am on June 10; clothes and shoes at 11am on June 11; sunglasses, bags and accessories at 2pm on June 11; and beauty, alcohol and home at 11am on June 12. As one bidder joked online, only at Sydney Airport could you pick up a designer handbag and a kitchen appliance in the same lot. Casi Prischl, Director at Theodore Bruce Auctioneers, said the auction has become one of the most loved events on their calendar. Australians log in from all corners of the country, not just for the deals but because they know they're supporting something meaningful. This year's collection includes high-quality electronics, luxury accessories, and standout surprises for both kids and collectors. Items are only sold after extensive efforts to reunite them with their original owners. Funds raised will be used to support the Inner West Aquatics team, who, in partnership with the Royal Life Saving Society, deliver essential swimming lessons to children who might otherwise miss out. Sydney Airport has already contributed $100,000 to kick-start the initiative - enough to fund 4,000 swimming lessons - and hopes the auction will triple that amount. Josh Clements, the airport's General Manager of Corporate Affairs, said the event is about more than grabbing a bargain. The auction gives shoppers the chance to browse through the treasure trove of items. All proceeds will go toward free swimming lessons and water safety programs for families doing it tough amid ongoing cost-of-living pressures For every $25 raised, another child receives a free swimming lesson - a vital skill that could one day save a life. In 2024 alone, Sydney Airport welcomed over 41 million passengers and successfully returned more than 7,000 lost items. Anything unclaimed has now been donated to charity or repurposed for the auction. Checked baggage isn't part of the auction, as that remains the responsibility of individual airlines. Inner West Aquatics will begin delivering the program to local children in the coming months, with hopes to eventually expand to include adult classes and broader community-based water safety programs. So whether you're after an iPad, a bottle of designer perfume, or a one-of-a-kind kitchen gadget, the Sydney Airport Lost Property Auction is offering more than just bargains - it's giving local kids a chance to stay safe in the water.
