Leonardo DiCaprio gets mocked over bizarre hat look as he attends Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez wedding
Leonardo DiCaprio was mocked over his bizarre penchant for a low sitting baseball cap as he attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez ' Venice wedding this week. The Oscar winner, 50, is known for his trademark baseball cap but took the look to a new extreme at the wedding festivities as he pulled the LA Lakers hat comically down over his eyes and nose while stepping out. Despite being instantly recognizable as a Hollywood A-lister and clad in a tux for the wedding, the slimmed-down star still tried to hide as his hat fell over his face - leading amused fans to compare him to a 'baby elephant hiding behind a tree.' One fan wrote: 'Leo's giving baby elephant' while a second typed: 'The way Leo is wearing that hat is beyond parody.' Others typed: 'Leo trying to hide because he's embarrassed to been seen there or what? 'What a sellout. Youre a climate activist you say, Leo? I'm sure there's a word for that... 'He dresses like that pretty much all the time unless he's doing a big event or publicity, I think he doesn't want to be recognized/approached by the general public which honestly I would do the same if I happened to be famous. Gross of him to go to this regardless tho.' DiCaprio is attending the event with current girlfriend and supermodel Vittoria Ceretti, 27, who he has been dating for two years. Cheers erupted as Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez exchanged vows at their $20 million Venetian wedding in front of their glamorous celebrity friends. A-List stars including Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump and Usher are among stars who've traveled to the private island by water to watch the romantic nuptials take place. Described as the 'wedding of a century', the 61-year-old Amazon founder and one of the world's richest men and his bride-to-be, 55, have welcomed nearly 200 VIPs to Venice for three days of lavish celebrations. Last night it was revealed Bezos and Sanchez have already married legally ahead of today's ceremony on San Giorgio Maggiore island. It came as guests including Kylie Jenner were forced to take cover from a freak thunderstorm during the couple's pre-wedding party inside the historic Madonna dell'Orto cloisters. The superstar was helped onto a boat during the day Ivanka Trump stepped out with her husband Jared Kushner while wearing a stunning, heavily embellished pink strapless floral gown with a thigh-baring slit A-listers Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey and Orlando Bloom jetted in to Italy earlier this week for the nuptials which come two years after Bezos asked Sanchez to marry him on his $500 million superyacht. Stars were forced to take cover on Thursday as the couple's pre-wedding party was hit by a huge freak thunderstorm. The lavish event held at the Madonna dell Orto cloisters marked the start of the billionaire couple's lavish three-day wedding in Venice, Italy, which will come to a close on Saturday. However, Thursday night's star-studded soiree was brought to an early end due to the intense downpour. Guests dived for cover under the vaulted cloisters as lightening bolts flashed across the sky and thunder rumbled overhead at the end of what was a torridly humid day with temperatures nudging 96.8° Fahrenheit. Torrential downpours and a strong wind left guests soaked as they then dashed for water taxis which had been scrambled a good 45 minutes ahead of the midnight finish time. The strong gusts of winds whipped table cloths away and sent waiters scurrying for umbrellas to protect the VIP attendees.

The best caps to smarten up your summer wardrobe, from £35
The humble baseball cap is enjoying renewed relevance in menswear of late, thanks to something of a high-fashion makeover. No longer reserved solely for hiding a bad hair day, it has become a bona fide wardrobe essential – one that is not only chic, but smart too. Caps topped off tailored ensembles and tonal smart-casual looks in Fendi's spring/summer 2025 show, and are now stocked at Gieves & Hawkes on Savile Row – in a wool-cashmere blend. 'Premium materials like cashmere, linen, suede or technical wool blends can instantly elevate a simple silhouette,' says Joshua Scacheri, design director at the tailor. 'They add texture and a sense of intention to your look.' This can also be achieved with high-street pieces; see Cos's linen cap and Massimo Dutti's suede iteration in sumptuous chocolate brown. A beige version of the latter has sold out at the time of writing – a testament to current demand. Under £100 As well as stealth styles in neutral tones, statement pieces have retained their cachet. Willy Chavarria's spring/summer show featured a tomato-red cap embroidered with the word 'América' – also the title of the collection, which refashioned workwear uniforms. Another trendy example comes from actor and men's style muse Jacob Elordi, who frequently dons a lime-green cap that reads 'Saint Natalie Wood'. The piece, from James Franco 's streetwear label Paly Hollywood, has become something of a cult item. Under £200 Clearly, bolder caps can be a worthwhile investment. While Elordi's has long sold out, there's also Lorna Murray's tweedy wool Lake Weekend cap at Wolf & Badger, or, for a blow-the-budget option, one in classic Burberry check. These can inject immediate life into otherwise neutral outfits. Over £200 There are various ways to take your cues on colour, as Scacheri explains. 'If you're wearing darker tones, consider a similarly muted cap for a sleek, tonal look,' he says. 'If your outfit features patterns, pick up an accent colour and tie the cap into that palette. For those who prefer a bolder approach, choose a cap that contrasts your outfit to create a visual highlight.' Whatever the hue, a cap will provide an invaluable shield against summer rays and prying eyes, while looking surprisingly dapper.

Jennifer Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, and Kaia Gerber Agree: Celebrities Love a Novelty Baseball Cap
What is a baseball cap if not free ad space on your forehead? (And sun protection, I suppose.) Hats are basically a billboard to broadcast our personal tastes, but for celebrities, they're an endorsement. Some celebrities opt to keep their hats relatively free of branded content. The New York Yankees logo is pretty par for the course among celebrities, with Kendall Jenner, Bad Bunny, and Rihanna all rocking it at some point. But others prefer to use their headwear to offer a glimpse into their lives—the interests and tastes they may not otherwise share. A proud collector of novelty baseball caps, Jennifer Lawrence regularly uses her hats to share her interests, both highbrow and populist. Her current favorite is a black cap with 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1' embroidered in red, but she's also quite fond of a navy Shania Twain hat with yellow text, and a pink cap that shouts out Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love. Photo: Backgrid Lawrence isn't the only novelty cap affocionado. For the thespians among us, they serve as a great stage door accessory. Following a performance of Evanston Salt Costs Climbing in March, Kaia Gerber paid homage to Cole Escola in a black cap that read 'A New Play by Cole Escola.' George Clooney, who is currently in a run of Good Night, and Good Luck, signed playbills at the stage door wearing a white Bronx Zoo cap. (I feel like he's a Dinousar Safari guy. Goerge, if you're reading this, can you please confirm?)
