My son was uninvited to a party because I didn't RSVP in time — it's disgusting behavior
She's RSVPeeved. An irate mom says her son was uninvited to a friend's birthday party because his attendance was confirmed after the RSVP date had passed. Sarah, a content creator and mother-of-four, shared the story to TikTok, where she sparked a heated debate about party etiquette. Sarah said she RSVP'd to the party on her son's behalf 'a couple of weeks later because I'm crap at texting people.' She was left surprised when she received a text back from the host saying the party had been cancelled. But the mom subsequently learned this was a lie, telling her TikTok viewers: 'All of my child's friends were texting him saying 'Why aren't you at the party, how come you're not here, we want to see you' blah blah blah.' 'So the parent lied and said the party was cancelled,' the irate mama fumed. 'Like why invite my child to a party if you're going to pretend it's not on anymore, I just don't understand.' Sarah signed off her clip saying her son was upset and describing the host's lie as 'disgusting behavior.' However, not all viewers empathized with the fuming mother. 'Should've replied sooner,' one unmoved commenter tartly wrote. 'People need numbers for bookings.' 'To be honest this is on you,' another chimed in. 'It's infuriating that parents do not respond for weeks… Parties cost a lot of money it takes two seconds to reply. Yes you're coming or no I can't come.' But many TikTok users were more sympathetic to Sarah and her son. 'I would have confronted the said parent,' a supporter stated. 'That's an awful thing to do to a child!'

Sarah shared her story on TikTok, revealing she 'honestly cannot believe' she even had to make the video in the first place. 'Put a finger down if one of your children got invited to a party, you text one of the parents on the invitation,' she begins. 'Bearing in mind it was a couple of weeks later because I'm crap at texting people to thank them for the invite.' She explained how excited her son had been about the party and getting to spend time with his classmates outside of school. Only, the mother hosting the party responded with a text Sarah hadn't anticipated. 'They respond and say the party has now been cancelled,' she recounted. But that doesn't appear to have been true. 'This said party took place yesterday. All of my child's friends were texting him saying, 'Why aren't you at the party?' 'How come you're not here?' 'We wanna see you,'' she explained. Sarah and her son were hit with a cruel realization. The party had gone ahead. 'The parent lied. Lied and said the party was cancelled,' she said. 'Why invite my child to a party if you're gonna pretend it's not on anymore? I just don't understand.' As a result, her son was left feeling excluded and confused. 'They all go to the same school. What did you think was going to happen? My child was actually really upset yesterday and I think it's disgusting behavior,' Sarah shared. The comment section was divided. Some sided with the host parent, arguing Sarah should have responded and RSVP'd sooner. 'Should have replied earlier. It's so annoying when parents don't text back for numbers and parents have to pay according to numbers. They probably meant your invite is cancelled because you didn't reply,' one commenter suggested. Another agreed: 'You replied weeks late. Maybe they felt bad saying they can no longer come so just said it's cancelled.' 'To be honest this is on you. It's infuriating that parents do not respond for weeks,' a third added. Terrifying video shows cheaply-built deck collapse as toddler prepared to blow out candles at 3rd birthday party
Shocking footage captured the moment a cheaply built deck collapsed as a toddler celebrated his Spider-Man-themed third birthday party. The young son of Hilary and Tony Loffredo was seen preparing to blow out his candles when the deck outside their home in West Des Moines, Iowa suddenly crumbled underneath them. 'The kids were crying and we all were screaming, 'Oh my gosh, what do we do?'' Hilary told KCCL. She said around 20 people had gathered for her son's birthday and were eagerly awaiting his Spider-Man themed cake when the deck caved in seconds before they could tuck in. 'There were some people down trapped between the deck and the house and the grill was on top of them,' Hilary continued. 'We were passing the kids from person to person up to the house to get them safe because we weren't sure when the other part of the deck was going to fall and collapse.' Emergency services raced to the home, and due to the number of people involved the West Des Fire Department upgraded their response to a mass casualty incident to bring more fire trucks and ambulances to the home. Thankfully no children or parents were seriously injured in the collapse, with Tony suffering the worst of the impact as he required stitches on his knee. 'Obviously, it could have been way worse. Very fortunate that was the only thing that really had blood or stitched up.' West Des Fire Marshal Mike Whitsell told KCCI that although the party attendees were okay, when they first arrived on the scene it was a 'very scary situation.' The Loffredos said they bought the home in 2019 after the previous owners put up the wooden deck, and recently had an inspection that found it was not up to scratch. 'The previous homeowners hired a local contractor to put this deck up with the roof that is over it and apparently some corners were cut, some things were forgot,' Hilary said. Whitsell said that while a deck suddenly collapsing is rare, there are some things that homeowners can question to find out if they are at risk. 'How old is your deck? Do you have rotted boards that are on there? Have you had your deck inspected?' he said. 'If you've moved into a newer home or a home that maybe somebody had previously, you might just want to have somebody take a look at that.' 'I don't think the Birthday Boy, or any of us, are going to forget this Birthday Party for a long time!' she said.
