Doddinghurst combine fire destroys fields and causes power cut
Firefighters from eight stations tackled a blaze at a farm which began in a combine harvester and affected a gas main and high-voltage power were called to Mountnessing Lane, Doddinghurst, near Brentwood, at about 17:05 BST to find the machine alight, with flames spreading across three fields. An Essex County Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said it used specialist off-road vehicles, a drone and backpack fire was brought under control by about 20:10. Fire breaks out in Toa Payoh flat
SINGAPORE: Firefighting operations are underway in Toa Payoh on Tuesday (Jul 29) after a blaze broke out in a Housing and Development Board (HDB) flat. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at Block 229 Toa Payoh Lorong 8 at about 1.10pm. "SCDF is currently at the scene conducting a firefighting operation," it said in a Facebook post. Footage showed thick smoke billowing out of several windows of the unit, with a few window frames mangled from the heat. The smoke could also be seen from the nearby Central Expressway. West Midlands fire crews remain at factory units tyre blaze
Firefighters have spent the night tackling a blaze that broke out in factory units and involved 20 tonnes of the peak of the blaze on Sunday, more than 70 firefighters attended the scene on Great Bridge Street between Tipton and West Bromwich, and several nearby homes were were allowed to return to their homes on Elwell Street on Sunday night, West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) said, but five fire engines and a hydraulic aerial platform remained at the remained there on Monday and police were continuing to manage cordons and access to nearby buildings, WMFS added.
