Chiefs Fans Wonder About Blockbuster Trade and Tyreek Hill Reunion

Chiefs Fans Wonder About Blockbuster Trade and Tyreek Hill Reunion originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes has played with a lot of wide receivers in his career, and Tyreek Hill is perhaps the best. But the team traded him to the Miami Dolphins back in 2022 for a haul of draft picks. Advertisement But what if there was a chance that they could get him back? In a recent video posted by Bleacher Report, Mitch Milani puts together 10 blockbuster trades that the Chiefs could make to get Mahomes his fourth Super Bowl ring. And the No. 1 deal that he lists would send a first-round pick in 2026 to the Dolphins in exchange for the eight-time Pro Bowler. "If they want Patrick Mahomes to become that upper echelon, dominant passer that he was in 2022 and previous, then Tyreek Hill returning to the kingdom would make a lot of sense." Nobody is questioning that Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but the past couple seasons for him have not been at the same level that many have come to expect. Advertisement So, Chiefs fans have reason to wonder if bringing back a receiver of Hill's caliber could raise that level of play from the superstar quarterback. Hill had a bit of a down year this past season, but only because of his insanely high standards, because he still finished with 959 yards and six touchdowns. In 2023, the 31-year-old wideout racked up 1,799 yards, 13 touchdowns, and finished just a handful of receptions short of the receiving Triple Crown. He is also a guy who is often plagued by controversy, which needs to be a consideration here. Mahomes and the Chiefs are looking to bounce back from a loss in the Super Bowl this past season, so reuniting with Hill could at least be something for the team to consider going into 2025. Lakers' star forward, recently-added 6-foot-6 guard could join Cooper Flagg on Mavericks

The offseason is the perfect time for playoff contenders to make things interesting by completing unexpected blockbuster trades. According to a recently crafted trade proposal, the Los Angeles Lakers' star forward and recently added 6-foot-6 guard could join Cooper Flagg on the Dallas Mavericks via a blockbuster deal. Advertisement 'The Lakers and Mavericks have already made one insane trade this year when Dallas moved Luka Doncic to the Lakers for Anthony Davis and a first-round pick,' Sports Illustrated's Jackson Caudell and Rohan Raman wrote Wednesday. 'It is worth remembering that James has a no-trade clause in his contract, and he can have a big say in his next destination. What if (LeBron) James wants to reunite with Davis for the final season or two seasons of his career? Now that they have Cooper Flagg, it is not crazy to think James could lift them to title contention in the Western Conference.' Caudell and Raman's three-team trade proposal sends Caleb Martin, a 2030 second round pick (via Philadelphia 76ers), and a 2032 second round pick (via Mavericks) to the Atlanta Hawks, Klay Thompson, Daniel Gafford, and P.J. Washington to the Lakers, and the James clan (LeBron, Bronny) and Dalton Knecht to the Mavericks. James has been linked to the Mavericks to begin the offseason for obvious reasons. Advertisement The 21-time All-Star was thrown off guard when the Lakers traded Davis, his former teammate, to Dallas in early February. A year after James signed with Los Angeles, Davis was shipped to the storied franchise in a monster 2019 deal. The two stars guided Los Angeles to an unforgettable bubble championship in 2020, coming out victorious against the Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, and Miami Heat. However, the $276 million duo endured four consecutive underwhelming postseasons with the Lakers, motivating the organization to make a change before the 2025 playoffs commenced. James' tight-knit bond with Davis and firm understanding of the 32-year-old's tendencies on the hardwood could be used to the Mavericks' advantage if a summer trade materializes. Advertisement Knecht, who the Lakers selected in the first round of the 2024 NBA draft, would likely struggle to earn a defined role in the Mavericks' offense. However, the Tennessee product could continue his gradual development in the respected Western Conference organization.

Steelers, Dolphins grades for blockbuster Minkah Fitzpatrick, Jalen Ramsey trade

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins completed what can only be described as one of the biggest blockbuster trades in recent memory — one that involves two All-Pro caliber defenders and one Pro Bowl tight end. Before we get started handing out the grades, here is a recap of the trade package compensation: Advertisement Steelers receive: CB Jalen Ramsey TE Jonnu Smith 2027 seventh-round pick Dolphins receive: S Minkah Fitzpatrick 2027 fifth-round pick Steelers grade: A It's difficult to grade Pittsburgh anything less than an A, as the Steelers managed to improve on both sides of the ball in one trade. Ramsey, a three-time All-Pro cornerback, and Smith, coming off the best year of his career in 2024, take the Steelers from first-round playoff exits to Super Bowl contenders. Losing one of the cornerstones of the defense in Fitzpatrick stings, but it was clear he was starting to lose some of his edge last season. The Steelers traded away an arguably declining safety for one of the best veteran cornerbacks in the NFL and a tight end coming off a Pro Bowl season — Pittsburgh without a doubt deserves an A grade here. Dolphins grade: B- Instead of extending Smith and renegotiating Ramsey's contract, the Dolphins opted to trade their two talented players away. It remains to be seen if the entirety of their decision-making process came down to finances, but it was clearly a non-issue for Pittsburgh to handle. Fitzpatrick wasn't thrilled with his usage during his first two years as a Dolphin — but maybe now it'll be different under HC Mike McDaniel? From Miami's side of the trade, the compensation package feels more like a rebuild than it does an improvement. This article originally appeared on The Pittsburgh Steelers made a huge splash on Monday, with their blockbuster trade with the Miami Dolphins dominating the NFL headlines, and they might not be done, with teams calling about the possibility of a trade for star outside linebacker T.J. Watt. Advertisement According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, multiple teams have been discussing whether it will be possible to trade for Watt this offseason, and while the Steelers have shown no indication they are willing to part with the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year, the calls are only going to increase after Monday's monster deal.
