Muskoka boat launch closed for repair with no timeline for reopening
A boat launch at Muskoka Wharf has closed with no timeline for when it will reopen. The Town of Gravenhurst issued a new release on Monday notifying the public that one of three boat launch ramps at Muskoka Wharf at 295 Steamship Bay Road is closed for repairs. The Town asks boaters to follow signage when using the ramps to access Lake Muskoka. 'When operating vehicles and equipment at this access point, have care when navigating near the boat houses beside this boat launch,' the Town added. No further details were provided.

SACRAMENTO — The boat launch at Sacramento's Discovery Park was closed late Thursday afternoon due to a petroleum spill, officials said. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Office of Spill Prevention (OSPR) said it responded to a 24-foot vessel being salvaged in the Sacramento River. While attempting to remove it from the water, the vessel broke apart and spilled around 20 to 40 gallons of petroleum product. The OSPR said warmer weather and abundant sunshine helped evaporate the product, which only had a minimal layer of sheen. There were impacts on wildlife in the area.
