More than 50 charges laid during Pottahawk weekend in Norfolk County

The Ontario Provincial Police issued more than 50 charges during the annual boat party in Norfolk County, but they say all incidents were minor. OPP estimate approximately 450 boats and 2,500 people took part in Pottahawk weekend at Pottahawk Point. Between Saturday and Sunday, the police's marine team laid a total of 12 charges under the Liquor Licence and Control Act and 10 charges under the Canada Shipping Act. One person was charged with impaired operation. Meanwhile, over on dry land, one driver was charged with stunt driving while 24 other drivers were hit with speeding charges. Police said they issued a total of 32 charges under the Highway Traffic Act and two charges under the Liquor Licence and Control Act. 'Norfolk County OPP attributes the lack of any serious, possibly fatal incidents to the presence of emergency services who worked diligently to ensure public safety for the annual event, and to those in attendance who prioritized safety throughout the course of the day,' Tuesday's release from police read. OPP thanked Norfolk County Paramedic Services, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Coast Guard for their help keeping everyone safe.

Floating food truck tips over in Turkey Point

A plan to feed partiers at Pottahawk Point almost ended at the dock. CTV's Karis Mapp reports. A plan to feed partiers at Pottahawk Point almost ended at the dock. CTV's Karis Mapp reports. A floating food truck took an unexpected turn while being launched in Turkey Point. The Big Rig Burgers truck was heading out to Pottahawk Point on Sunday afternoon to feed people at the annual boat party. While launching into Lake Erie, the boat tipped on its side, temporarily closing the marina. 'We've never had this situation before,' explained Brad Thomson, the general manager of Macdonald Turkey Point Marina. 'We've had boats sinking and fires and whatnot, so staff had a good indication of always first and foremost making sure they're safe, customer safety and also environmental safety.' Thomson confirmed there were no injuries and the water was not contaminated. Big Rig Burgers floating food truck A piece of Big Rig Burgers' floating food truck is seen in this undated image. (Courtesy: Facebook/Denby AJ) 'It's basically the shell of a Peterbilt transport truck,' he said. 'There was no oil leaking in the water. The engine actually was an outboard engine. It was a self-contained, plastic gas can and it was just simply removed.' Thomas added the marina received a call from Transport Canada on Sunday evening to inquire about the mishap but no follow-up action was necessary. With roughly 100 boats launching from the Turkey Point marina throughout the day, there was only a 15-minute wait for the food vessel to be recovered. That was the easiest way to inflict the least amount of damage that we could in the situation because it wasn't like you could right it and pull it back up on the pontoon,' Thomson said. (Courtesy: Facebook/Denby AJ) He thanked staff and customers in the area who helped with the rescue mission. 'It goes to show that the public can come together in these situations to help each other, and I just thought it was amazing.' The unique floating food truck made its first-ever launch last weekend successfully at Belwood Lake. Thomson said the truck will likely take some time to fix, but he's grateful it flipped over right at the launch and not out in deep water.

Swimsuit-clad Frankie Bridge parties up a storm in £285 Pucci sarong with husband Wayne on a Bermuda boat

Frankie Bridge partied up a storm with her husband Wayne after jetting off to Bermuda to celebrate her sister's birthday. The Saturdays singer, 36, shared snaps of the couple living it up at a boat party to her Instagram on Thursday. Clad in black backless swimsuit and a £285 colourful Pucci sarong, Frankie harked back to her days as a popstar as she danced alongside friends to Temperature by Sean Paul. She accessorised her look for the early birthday party with a chunky pair of £175 gold Missoma pearl drop earrings and a stylish woven cowgirl hat. Meanwhile Wayne, 44, seemed elated to be soaking in the sun while sporting an eye-catching multi-coloured cardigan. The couple also posed for a sun-soaked selfie together, with a pouting Frankie covering her eyes in a pair of pink-tinted sunglasses and the former footballer with a black pair. Frankie - who celebrated 10 years of marriage with Wayne last year - captioned the slew of holiday snaps: 'You can take the girl out of Essex... 'Bermuda for the birthday girl @mrstorcook (it's not actually her birthday until August but whatever) and btw... I'm the youngest.' After undergoing a £7,000 hair transplant in October, Wayne was certainly showing off a fuller head of hair for the family trip to the Caribbean. The former England left-back had more than 4,000 hairs implanted into the thinning areas of his scalp in London late last year. He revealed the results of the transplant with new images last week, admitting he was 'buzzing' with the result. Wayne said his new hairstyle has brought about a huge boost in confidence. He explained: 'It's like I've got a full head of hair again and the transformation is pretty unbelievable. 'When I look at the before and after pictures it is pretty amazing and it has done so much for my self-confidence.' Wayne had been losing his hair right across his scalp for around ten years and by the time of his transplant last September he said that the cover was sparse and he was always trying to hide his baldness. He explained: 'I used to move it around to cover it up. I didn't get a lot of banter about it from mates because I was so good at hiding it. 'I work in the media and knew that I would really benefit from getting it sorted. You feel so much more confident when your hair looks good. 'It is so much thicker now and it takes me no time to get it sorted out. I jump out of the shower, use a bit of product and then I am out. I'm buzzing and it means I can wear my hair a lot shorter now. Lots of people who are thinning have asked me where I got it done and want to do the same. 'Before I was always conscious of how my hair looked and it used to take me a lot longer to get ready.' Wayne had the full backing of his wife Frankie, 36 - the former Saturdays singer turned TV presenter and podcaster - who loves his new look. The popstar revealed earlier this year that she was suffering from gastroenteritis. In a candid video, she told her 1.5million Instagram followers that her 'immunity has been so bad' after suffering from the disease, which causes an inflammation of the stomach. The singer, who was dressed in a beige T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms, revealed she had been having other 'tests done' and has also been on 'antibiotics for a bad tooth'. Speaking from her kitchen, Frankie shared: 'Hi guys it's been a little while and I've said a couple of time that I've been ill a lot lately so I thought I would give you an update. 'I've basically had gastroenteritis twice back to back. Which I very rarely get to be honest and it has completely wiped me out and been awful. I feel like my gut has massively suffered and it feels still really fragile.' According to the NHS, gastroenteritis is a common inflammation of the stomach and intestines caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites. It typically manifests with symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and stomach cramps, but can also include fever, fatigue, and headache. Frankie continued: 'My immunity has been so bad and all while that has been going on I've been having tests done and I couldn't take my daily Symprove. 'On top of all of this I've been on antibiotics because I've had a bad tooth and I feel like I've noticed a massive difference in my immunity.' The Saturday's star concluded by telling fans she has since been 'given the all clear' by doctors. She added: 'I'm finally over it and I'm hoping it's the last time because I've been given the all clear to get back into my daily routine. I'm happy to be back and it's nice to be back in a routine.'

Female party boat organiser plunges into sea as mass Brit tourist brawl erupts after rowdy thugs are booted off vessel

THIS is the dramatic moment a boat party organiser ends up in the sea during a mass brawl in Ibiza. The wild scene, filmed by a shocked bystander, is said to have forced the party boat to cancel its scheduled trip. 5 5 5 Shocking footage from the Ibizan party resort of San Antonio showed an unidentified man pushing and punching another into the water before getting involved in another fight further along the dock. A woman, described locally as the party organiser, also unexpectedly ended up in the water. A witness posted the video on TikTok, with the title: 'English people in Ibiza' before adding, 'English people are so problematic'. When asked by other users how she knew their nationality, the witness replied: 'Because I was there.' A Brit in the comments added: 'English people are very educated, we are not all the same,' which the witness acknowledged was true. On Sunday, another explosive fight broke out in the same resort at the popular Marco Polo hotel. In the shocking footage, a man can be seen throwing a flying chair onto a woman's head as she's in the pool. A group of lifeguards and security attempt to intervene, but their efforts amount to nothing as the man is seen ignoring them. In May, an easyJet passenger was left petrified after a group of rowdy "drunk" Brits turned her Ibiza flight into a "nightclub". Spaniard Erika Barrachina claimed she suffered a "panic attack" after having to cope with "scum" passengers. Shocking moment chair-tossing pool brawl erupts at Ibiza hotel with tourist bashed in head and knocked into water In a no-holds-barred message alongside a video of the packed plane where passengers could be seen banging on luggage compartments above them and yelling: "Come on Ibiza", the Spanish speaker said: 'My flight from London to Ibiza was absolutely horrible. 'I was scared. A plane full of real English animals. 'Everyone standing, screaming, guys hitting each other, drinking bottles of alcohol one after the other and stopping the flight attendants from doing their job. Real hell. 'This video is the just the end because I couldn't film what happened during the journey. 'Before boarding the plane they were drunk and high. Taking pills and drinking alcohol at the same time, which I saw with my own eyes." She added: 'We don't want this type of tourism in Ibiza, they should stay at home." It comes as locals in Ibiza took part in an anti-tourist demonstration just over a week ago. 8,000 people took to the streets in the Majorcan capital Palma. Around 100 people with drums surrounded upmarket eatery Cappuccino Borne next to a McDonald's in the centre of Palma after their protest finished. Police moved in to ease tension as the demonstrators held up cardboard posters reading: 'As You Come I Have To Go.' The protestors also chanted 'The Streets Will Always Be Ours', Go Home' in English and 'No Balconing' in reference to the young tourists who have dangerously jumped from hotel balconies into swimming pools or tried to climb between balconies under the influence of alcohol and drugs. 5 5
