GRAZIA Exclusive: Ella Hunt Chops 9 Inches Off Hair, Debuts Easy-Sexy ‘Italian Riviera Bob'

The English actress desired a major makeover for an upcoming role, and she trusted New York City-based hairstylist Jacob Rozenberg to get the job done. 'She sent me a text saying she was leaving town to start a film and was going for a big chop,' Rozenberg says. 'I had been in and out of LA twice that week, so we met up late one night before we each took off on our next work adventure.' Behind the Process The duo huddled together at the Hawthorne Salon in Chelsea to discuss Hunt's goals. Apparently, she needed to lose a significant amount of length. 'She really leaned in! But it was still a shock,' the hair pro shares. Rozenberg started by razoring the whole perimeter 'to give it softness and movement,' he says, then went back in to give the cut shape. The result: an airy, chic style with lots of energy and versatility, which we're dubbing the 'Italian Riviera Bob,' a look that's less precise than the 'C*nty Little Bob,' airier than the 'Ripped Bob' and even lighter and less structured than the classic 'Italian Bob.' Courtesy of Jacob Rozenberg Bob Style Tips For Hunt's transformation, before he did the haircut, he shampooed and conditioned with Biologe Volume Boost to coax body. Once the shape was perfected, he ran Biologe Curl Defining Elixir throughout damp locks 'to get a little hold and shine with no frizz.' A quick blow dry using a diffuser — the Airlight Pro — and the transformation was complete. The look has major versatility. It can be brushed back and slicked behind the ears. Rozenberg recommends a dab of oil and a spritz of Biologe Complete Control Hairspray for this. Or it can be parted in the center. But the side part 'best shows off the layers,' says the pro. While bob styles are certainly the look of the season, Rozenberg offers one caveat. 'Consider the length of your neck. If you have a shorter neck and a rounder face shape, a lob may be more flattering.'

In this week's beauty news, Sofia Richie-Grainge has gone for the big chop, taking her chest-length locks up to her chin thanks to hair stylist George Curran. The model and social media personality brought her fans along for the haircut at her Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc wedding venue, posting a five-minute video of the process on TikTok (@sofiagrainge). Describing her decision to viewers, she explains, 'I did one too many keratin treatments on my hair and, over the past six months, I've just been cutting at it and cutting at it hoping I could get this dead [hair] away – and it's just not going away. 'I know what I have to do to make this hair healthy again: it's to start over, so we're cutting a bob.' The result? A flicky, French bob – which Richie-Grainge has playfully dubbed her 'Cap Du Bob' – with face framing and blunt ends towards the rear. But when you're heading into a salon for such a drastic cut, you need a step-by-step guide. So we reached out to industry professional Samantha Cusick for the instructions to give your hairdresser, and found out her key bob maintenance tips. Expert hairdresser Samantha Cusick has styled influencers Zoe Sugg and Summer Fox, so we're in pretty good hands. She says, 'If you're after the Sofia Richie bob, ask your stylist for a classic above the shoulder (but below the chin), one length cut with subtle shaping through the front to frame the face.' 'The key to this look is that clean, French-girl finish with just enough bounce and polish to make it feel expensive but effortless,' she added. But despite thousands of positive comments, the haircut has proven surprisingly divisive. Several videos have been posted in response to Richie-Grainge's video declaring that women should 'not get the Sofia Richie bob.' One user even went viral after pointing out that Richie-Grainge will 'have licensed professionals on-hand' to tend to her hair in the months after the chop, which is unobtainable for most people. Maintenance is key if you've been inspired to get the same style. Cusick recommends the Ghd duet blowdry (£239.20, '[It's] a dream,' she explained, 'it takes the hair from wet to dry while smoothing and adding volume, so you get that signature bouncy texture in one step.' For topical products, it came as no surprise to hear that Cusick's an Olaplex fan. 'To lock in shine, use a drop of Olaplex No.7 bonding oil (£19.55, on the ends,' she described, elaborating to tell us how it imbues the strands with a luxuriously healthy and glossy glow. Finally, she looks to in-salon brand Authentic Beauty Concept: 'Finish with a mist of the airy texture spray (£25.75, soft hold and a bit of movement – you want it to feel touchable and undone, not overly stiff or styled.' Cusick also advises regular trims to keep your bob looking fresh and hammered home some age-old advice, warning 'do not skip heat protection to maintain that silky, healthy finish.'

Gemma Collins showed off her natural short locks as she ditched her hair extensions to jet off on a sun-soaked holiday. The TOWIE star, 44, told her Instagram followers that she'd 'activated' holiday mode as she showed off her bob on Wednesday morning. The post, in which a tanned Gemma posed for a selfie in a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses, also saw her show off her natural beauty as she went makeup-free. Alongside the photo she penned: 'Holiday MODE ACTIVATED. loving my old skool @chloe glasses (yellow heart emoji) make up free short hair it's a VIBE. 'Just some individual lashes and a lip (lips emoji) blush from 6 years ago mine really lasted'. Gemma's bob is a far-cry from the look she sported during her years on The Only Way is Essex. The GC - who is currently engaged to businessman Rami Hawash, 50 - usually rocks a much longer flowing blonde hairstyle. Fans however were a fan of the change-up, with some taking to the comments section of Gemma's post to compliment her. They wrote: 'Love the bob', 'Love your hair too xx 20 years younger xx', 'Lovely, the haircut really suits you'. Gemma's getaway comes just a week or so after she was left 'terrified' when she received an 'abusing and menacing' letter to the home. The GC was forced to call in police as the man behind the letter detailed his strong dislike for her, even threatening to track her down. A source close to the reality TV star told The Sun in mid-June: 'Gemma was left shaken and very scared for her safety after she received a threatening and abusive letter from a man expressing his extreme dislike for her and using menacing language. 'It was really nasty and made reference to tracking her down, so she called the police straight away. 'It was alarming that this man knew her home address, but she already upped security and has round-the-clock guard dogs and has cameras onsite. 'She is always incredibly friendly with all her fans and happy to stop for pictures and a chat so to have someone send such an unpleasant letter has really shocked her.' The insider shared that there is now an ongoing investigation and Gemma is 'grateful' to the police for taking the matter seriously. The source added: 'She thought about what had happened to Holly Willoughby and her kidnap threat ordeal so didn't want to take any chances.' MailOnline contacted Gemma's representatives for comment about the matter. And in what has clearly been a rocky June for the reality star, she was also struck down with pneumonia earlier this month. After being left with no choice but to take some time off social media, Gemma returned to let her fans know the extent of her illness. She explained that her condition had been leaving her breathless 'really quickly' but due to medics diagnosing it as viral, antibiotics would be ineffective. She told The Mirror: 'It's shocking, I've had it now for over three weeks and I had steroids given to me by my doctor. It was DJ Fat Tony's wedding and I had to take them to get through that,' 'But I'm off them now and the sickness is really kicking back in. It's so frustrating because I normally have so much energy and I'm always loving life, but now I get really breathless really quickly and I feel like I'm dying.' Pneumonia is inflammation of the lungs, usually caused by an infection. Most people get better in two to four weeks, but babies, older people, and people with heart or lung conditions are at risk of getting seriously ill and may need treatment in hospital. Taking to her Stories Gemma shared snaps as she underwent X-rays while praising medical staff for their care. She wrote: 'Thank you to all the amazing doctors helping me your real life angels'. Announcing the news of her condition in early June, Gemma shared a photo of herself in bed looking poorly in bed. She wrote: 'Hey guys sorry been quiet i have Pneumonia. I'm not as fast or on it as I usually am on the daily. 'I am still honouring my work commitments which is taking every bit of energy I have but will be back entertaining you all soon.' On her Story she added an update as she showed she was on a drip and had been visited by a doctor. One post that showed a drip in her arm read: 'I'm having to take it easy which is not like me very slow and get so out of breath and tired so quick.'

It was time for a 'fresh start,' and Richie Grainge was ready to go all the way; she decided she did not want a lob, but a true short bob, and landed on a jawline-length French bob style cut by George Curran. And of course she documented the entire thing on video so we could enjoy watching the transformation. Richie Grainge was thrilled with the final result. Gone was the collarbone-length blonde hair and in its place, a sleek, cropped blunt-cut bob. 'I love my bob,' she said as Curran sliced and shaped. 'I freaking love it.' And she wasn't alone! Joined by The White Lotus star Leslie Bibb, the host of Today — as well many viewers of the HBO Max program — found themselves so taken by Bibb's now-viral blunt bob that she decided to take the plunge herself. The live Monday morning broadcast quickly turned into an impromptu hair appointment, with celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan on hand to make the transformation official. 'When I was here back in March, Jenna vowed to get on board with the bob, and today is the day!' Bibb exclaimed with sheer enthusiasm. As the trio chatted, they reflected on how Bibb's hairstyle had unexpectedly gone 'completely viral' — a reaction McMillan admitted he 'didn't expect.' 'It was a grow-out of a short haircut,' he said. 'It wasn't like, the intention wasn't to give her a bob, it was to grow it out into a bob.' With that, McMillan got to work, carefully finding the right length before committing to the first chop. 'Do I have enough hair to donate?' Bush Hager asked. 'No,' Bibb jokingly responded. Bush Hager shared that not everyone was thrilled with the prospect of her on-air makeover. 'I will say my daughter was like, 'Mom, don't do it! You're gonna regret it!'' she said.
