I tried everything to cure the insomnia that plagued me after I had my first baby. THIS is what worked, and it was so simple. By best-selling author LUCY FOLEY

My alarm clock went off at 7am. I couldn't believe the time. The main thing I couldn't believe, though, was the fact that I'd got any sleep at all. Only an hour earlier I'd been awake, resigning myself to yet another night with no rest. Through the dark hours I'd paced the house in an anxious fug, as my husband and toddler slept. At 33 I now felt ill: dry-eyed, achey, nauseous. And I was about to go on a book tour where every evening I'd be talking to a roomful of people. I worried I wouldn't be able to string a coherent sentence together, let alone speak with any eloquence.

Tudor Dixon: Politicians Shouldn't Be Able To Personally Profit From The Office And Abandon Their State By Doing It

Former Michigan GOP gubernatorial nominee Tudor Dixon joins Fox Across America With guest host Todd Piro to share her thoughts on retiring actor Michael Douglas saying that people now enter politics in the U.S. in order to make money. 'I think he thinks that this is a one-sided issue. Let's talk about Andrew Cuomo, who wrote a book about the pandemic and then resigns and gets this big advance and spends all this money, but he shouldn't have actually gotten the money. It turns out what he did in the pandemic was not what he said he was doing. But come to find out that during the pandemic, he has many staff members writing this book, so he's distracted from public service. To me, that is a critical issue. Gretchen Whitmer, the same thing. She writes a book because I believe she sees the writing on the wall that Joe Biden is not gonna be the nominee. So quick, she gets this like, I mean, it was a very slim book that came out, maybe she announced in February, it comes out in July right before the election. But then she leaves the state of Michigan for months for a nationwide book tour. And I think that's wrong. I do not think politicians should be allowed to personally profit and leave the state by doing it. I mean the fact that she can write a memoir and then travel around the country while the state, it would be one thing if the state of Michigan were in great shape, we're 40th in infrastructure, 40th an education, our manufacturing is dying, and the governor's AWOL because she's making megabucks off of a book that she's getting a huge advance on. And I will say locally, we have the same issue in Michigan. So when I say I agree with him, I'll say even a Republican who is running for office in the state of Michigan had a leadership position in state government, left and became a lobbyist, which means you are using your connections in government to make money for companies who are paying you to do it. And then, now he is still a lobbyists, goes back and decides he's going to run for an even higher office. So you go from office to making money lobbying off of your relationships to back to office and having the people that you lobbied for make money off of government. I think that your priorities are to make money and you shouldn't be running for office.' Listen to the podcast to hear the full discussion!

Jake Tapper's CNN show hits lowest ratings since 2015 despite new Biden book buzz, intense publicity tour

CNN host Jake Tapper had his lowest-rated month in nearly a decade in May despite a whirlwind publicity tour giving him an onslaught of attention. Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson's new book, "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again," was released in May to much fanfare. The book helped set the recent news cycle with new accusations of the Biden White House hiding the truth about the former president's fitness for office. To promote the project, Tapper has embarked on a wide-ranging book tour that landed him on a variety of podcasts, talk shows and cable news. The book has also been promoted relentlessly across CNN, but the spotlight on Tapper has seemingly failed to give him a boost in viewership. "The Lead with Jake Tapper" averaged 525,000 total viewers from April 28 through May 25, shedding 25% of CNN's audience in its timeslot from the same period last year in the process. By comparison, Fox News offerings "The Five" and "Special Report with Bret Baier" averaged 3.3 million viewers from April 28 through May 25, trouncing Tapper. MSNBC also beat Tapper among total viewers, as programming on the progressive network averaged a little over one million viewers in the timeslot. As a result, Tapper settled for only 11% of the cable news audience share, while MSNBC managed 21% and Fox News commanded 68% during the timeframe. It was Tapper's lowest-rated month since August 2015. "The Lead with Jake Tapper" is also down from last year among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults aged 25-54. Tapper's newscast averaged only 95,000 viewers among the critical demo from April 28 through May 25, for a 15% drop. "The Lead with Jake Tapper" wasn't the only CNN offering to struggle, as the network had its second-worst month ever in the demo across both total day and primetime during May. While Tapper's efforts to promote "Original Sin" haven't helped viewership, the CNN host has managed to generate headlines by admitting he didn't report on Biden's age issues aggressively enough and declaring the cover-up of the former president's mental decline may be a worse scandal than Watergate. When reached for comment, CNN noted that Nielsen Media Research only reflects CNN's audience in the United States, but Tapper's program airs on other platforms. "The award-winning program The Lead with Jake Tapper reaches broad global audiences across CNN, CNN International and Max's streaming platform. No single metric can capture the true reach and impact of a program driving the national conversation," a CNN spokesperson told Fox News Digital. JEREMY HUNT: Liz Truss called me into a boudoir she'd created in No 10 and told me she had to quit. I urged her to go quickly – and gave her an awkward hug...

A message from an unrecognised number jumped out at me from my phone: ' Liz Truss here. Please can you give me a call.' Was the Prime Minister really trying to contact me? Surely not. It was mid-October 2022 and she had been in Downing Street for a little over a month. Having tried and failed to become Conservative leader for the third time that summer, soundly beaten in the first round of voting, I was coming to terms with life on the back benches and was in a comfortable Brussels hotel on a promotion tour for a book I had just written on the NHS.
