The prep for 'Happy Fall: A Queer Stunt Spectacular' gave its performers a workout. 'We had to teach them falls, wrecks, crashes, sword work, knife work, boxing, whip work, basic punches and reactions, and kicks. And then we went into the rafters to do wire work, hand pulls, propelling, crashing from one side of the stage to the other and all kinds of different stuff,' says the show's stunt coordinator, Frank Alfano, speaking about a boot camp he helped run for the actors.

The Piscine is an intense and immersive bootcamp designed to equip participants with foundational coding capabilities while challenging their adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration skills. This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals, regardless of their background or prior coding experience, to build in-demand digital skills through a hands-on, peer-to-peer learning model. The bootcamp will train 100 participants with essential coding and AI skills. Potential applicants who are interested in joining the upcoming 'Piscine' can visit 42 Abu Dhabi's official website, where they will have to complete 42 Abu Dhabi's pre-selection 'Game' - an online assessment that evaluates cognitive capacity via logic and memory tests. Following this, they will attend an in-person check-in discovery session to be briefed on the Piscine and the learning methodology. Once candidates successfully complete the Piscine, they will be eligible to join the accredited Diploma in Software Development program offered at 42 Abu Dhabi's campus in Abu Dhabi. With the support of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, individuals from various backgrounds, including those looking to enhance their digital skills or shift into tech-focused careers, will be empowered to build new coding capabilities and actively contribute to the growing digital ecosystem. As part of this collaboration, participants who successfully complete the Piscine will be eligible to join 42 Abu Dhabi's accredited program and obtain the Diploma in Software Development, which is delivered full-time at the campus in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, aspiring Emirati entrepreneurs who complete the Piscine and wish to launch their ventures can benefit from KFED's support. Caltech Agrees to Settle Lawsuit Accusing It of Misleading Students
The California Institute of Technology has agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit that accused it of misleading students who signed up for a 'boot camp' that carried Caltech's name but in practice had scant ties to the school, one of the world's richest universities. The settlement called for Caltech and an outside partner, Simplilearn, to change how they advertised the boot camp, adding new restrictions that threatened the program's allure. But on Monday, the day a court released documents that detailed the settlement's terms, Caltech said in an open letter it would cut ties with Simplilearn later this year. Nevertheless, the settlement, which still requires a judge's approval, may influence how other schools market similar offerings. Caltech is among hundreds of universities across the country, many of them looking for new sources of revenue, that have licensed their names to promote courses that were actually run by outside companies, with the university often playing only limited roles in hiring, instruction or curriculum development. Some universities earn several thousand dollars for each student who enrolls in a branded program; researchers estimate that those fees add up to hundreds of millions of dollars a year across the higher education industry.
