"I Know That You Mean That Nicely": Kylie Kelce Responded To Backhanded Compliments About Her Postpartum Body
Soooooooooooo maybe don't comment on Kylie Kelce's (or anyone's) postpartum body. Related: Kylie welcomed her fourth daughter, Finnley 'Finn' Anne Kelce, with husband Jason Kelce back in March — but has kept up her podcasting commitments since then. In the latest episode of her podcast, called Not Gonna Lie With Kylie Kelce, the 33-year-old said, "Hey, you know what's fucked up? The phrase 'bounce back after pregnancy.'" Related: "Here's the problem. Every single person I've seen grow a human being and pop them out have rebounded in their own time," she continued. "For all of the people who are in the comments saying things like, 'You look fantastic after having Finn' or 'You look amazing after having your fourth'...First of all, I know that you mean that nicely, but at the end of the day, if I looked like this and I hadn't just had my fourth child, would you say I look tired? Because yes, I'm very tired." "My point is that we don't need to comment on the fact that a woman is postpartum and how she is doing with her postpartum journey physically. And I think we should be more concerned about the overall well-being of women postpartum. I don't think that we need to bounce back," she continued. Related: Besides, Kylie noted, "There are some things that we, as women who have just grown humans, cannot bounce back. I can't bounce back my stretch marks. They're with me forever. Do I like them? Let's be honest, no. I liked when my tummy didn't have a bunch of little ridges in it. But guess what? It does. Do I still look damn good? Yes." As for comparisons, she added, "I feel like the worst piece about the 'bouncing back' is that it is a comparison to either your body before you had kids or people around you. Cut it out. We do not need to compare ourselves, ladies. You don't need to compare yourselves to the person you were before you had kids, because news flash, she didn't fucking have kids, okay?" Related: "You don't have to compare yourself to those around you because there is beauty in the fact that we are unique from each other," she said. Elsewhere in the episode, Kylie revealed that some of the harshest comments had come from her eldest daughter. "My oldest called me evil a couple weeks ago," she said. "Yesterday, specifically, she pressed on my stomach and said, 'It looks like you still have a baby in there.' Um, lovely. Very sweet." Plus, some of us have stretch marks because we're really sexy!
