She embodies more than just the drama associated with her name; she is a talented singer, a devoted mother, and a successful businesswoman who flourishes despite the challenges surrounding her.
We had a quick chat with the media personality about her music, business and being a mother.
What first drew you to the entertainment industry?
From an early age, my vibrant personality shone through, and discovering my talent for singing ignited a passion within me to pursue a career in this industry.
What's been your biggest career milestone so far?
Without a doubt, the Londie London braid has been my most significant milestone. The overwhelming support I've received from people has been truly remarkable and has solidified my identity as an entrepreneur.
Can you tell us about the music you're releasing, and can we expect a body of work?
I am genuinely excited about the music I've been creating. I believe this will finally allow people to experience me as an artist. Currently, I'm focused on recording as much as possible, with the intention of releasing a comprehensive body of work when the time is right.
Tell us about your business ventures—what drives your entrepreneurial spirit?
At present, my primary focus is on the braid, as I am preparing to open a salon soon. My passion for business is profound; it not only elevates me financially but also enriches me mentally. I firmly believe that financial freedom is attainable for anyone willing to learn and put in the effort.
What advice would you give to young women wanting to start their own businesses?
My best advice is to simply **start**! We often allow financial concerns to hold us back, yet social media provides us with unprecedented access to audiences we never knew existed.
What convinced you to join Real Housewives of Durban?
After relocating to Durban and taking a break from the industry due to my engagement, I felt the need for a strong comeback. When I was approached for the show, it was an obvious choice for me.
How do you handle criticism and online trolls?
The most effective approach is to ignore negativity and refrain from engaging with it. I choose to focus on the positive comments, as those are the individuals who genuinely support me.
What's the biggest misconception people have about reality TV?
Many believe that it's scripted. In reality, we are given a brief to entertain and present our best performances.
How much of your 'real' self do viewers actually see?
I've recently become more in tune with myself, which resonated in the latest season of Housewives. My authenticity shone through, and I love that people felt a connection with me.
How do you maintain authenticity in such a public space?
Being your true self makes it significantly easier to navigate interactions and situations. Maintaining authenticity is far less challenging than upholding a facade.
What's the most important lesson you've learned about yourself recently?
I've realised that being a straight shooter can sometimes lead to unintended challenges—though it often brings humor to the situation!
How do you handle work-life balance, especially as a mother?
I am still navigating this balance, but the support from my mom and family makes the journey more manageable.
How has social media changed your life?
Social media has profoundly impacted my life. I would have never reached such a vast audience through television alone, as my brand truly began on these platforms.
