A DOUBLE-decker bus has caught fire on a busy street near a hospital. Bright orange flames and thick smoke can be seen billowing out of the number 88 bus at 6.50am today outside Portland Hospital in central London. Firefighters can be seen at the scene on Great Portland Street as drivers edge by in dramatic footage. The cause of the fire is not yet clear. All passengers are understood to have been evacuated without any injury. It had been brought under control by 7am, though the road remains partially closed. All passengers were able to safely disembark before the situation escalated. No injuries were reported. The vehicle, operated by the private coach company, became engulfed in flames while in motion.
