HURST promotes Ryan Tattler to associate partner

UK-based independent accounting and business advisory firm HURST has promoted Ryan Tattler to the role of associate partner. Since his start as a trainee, Tattler has achieved four promotions, now joining the leadership team in the business services division. The business services team at HURST, which Tattler is now a part of as associate partner, is the firm's largest, comprising more than 70 staff. This team is responsible for a range of services, including audit, compliance, strategic advisory, outsourcing, and business planning, catering to a growing national client base. Tattler's promotion is part of a broader trend of internal career advancement at HURST. Earlier this year, Aaron Booth, Alex Burgon, and Lisa Everett were appointed as managers, while Georgia Hall stepped into the role of associate manager. Like Tattler, Booth, Hall, and Everett began their careers at HURST as trainees and have since qualified with the firm. Additionally, Danielle Tierney recently advanced to the position of manager within HURST Corporate Finance. Reflecting on his promotion, Tattler stated, "I'm incredibly proud to have been promoted to associate partner. It's a significant milestone in my career and a reflection of the support and opportunities I've had at HURST over the past ten years." He credits the variety and complexity of his work, as well as the training and development provided by colleagues, for his career progression. HURST partner Mike Jackson, who heads the business services team, said: 'Ryan has shown he can build strong relationships with clients while maintaining the market leading professional standards we expect. He has also shown himself to be a strong leader within the firm, helping to drive change and develop how we run the business.' Founded in 1982, HURST is known for its specialisation in advising owner-managed businesses, private equity-backed enterprises, and UK subsidiaries of overseas parent companies. The company boasts a diverse client portfolio and provides compliance and business advisory services to companies and organisations across the UK, Europe and beyond. Baker Tilly International adds new member firm in UAE

Baker Tilly International has expanded its global network of independent accounting and business advisory firms with the addition of a new member firm in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The addition of the Dubai-based firm aims to bolster the company's foothold in what is considered a "key strategic market." In a statement, Baker Tilly highlighted the country's infrastructure, favourable regulatory environment, and diversified economy as factors providing a "dynamic" landscape for businesses pursuing growth. It further noted that clients stand to gain from the combination of local insights and the global network's best practices and specialised expertise, which are customised to address unique business challenges. Baker Tilly UAE managing partner Saad Maniar said: 'Joining Baker Tilly International is a significant milestone for our firm. In an era of rapid change and heightened client expectations, aligning ourselves with a strong global network will enable us to deliver even greater value to our clients. We are excited about the opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration and innovation.' Baker Tilly International CEO Francesca Lagerberg emphasised the importance of the MEA region to the network's global growth strategy. 'The expertise and reputation for quality demonstrated by our UAE firm aligns perfectly with our core values. It not only strengthens our capabilities in the region but also enhances our ability to support clients with cross-border needs through seamless, integrated solutions,' she stated. The focus on the MEA region was further highlighted last year with the appointments of Chakib Zaari, founder of Baker Tilly in Morocco, as regional chair for MEA, and Gagik Gyulbudaghyan as regional director. Their roles involve steering international business growth as well as advancing the network's services and capabilities across the region. Menzies bolsters Welsh presence with Haines Watts Wales merger

UK-based business advisory and accountancy company Menzies has merged with Haines Watts Wales (HWW). The merger is expected to bolster Menzies' operations in Wales and expand its Cardiff office. HWW supports a diverse client base, including corporates, SMEs, not-for-profits, and entrepreneurs. The company's integration into Menzies adds it to the HLB network, making it the eighth-largest network of independent advisory and accounting companies worldwide. The merger brings 20 employees, including two new partners, to Menzies. The Cardiff office now employs over 40 people with a combined fee income of £4m ($5.4m). Menzies said this expansion enhances its service capabilities. It will now offer audit, accounts, and tax services alongside business recovery and advisory expertise. Both parties share a commitment to combining large-firm expertise with local, personalised service. Menzies highlighted that the leadership consists of partners with experience in building local businesses. The merger supports its goal to achieve £85m in revenue this financial year. This figure doubles Menzies' revenue from five years ago. Menzies partner John Cullen said: 'The merger with HWW represents a strategic milestone for Menzies as we strengthen our full-service capabilities in Wales. 'Wales has always been a very important market for Menzies, and this merger underlines our long-term commitment to growth in South Wales. 'It will create new job opportunities and enable us to offer an even higher level of service as we reinforce our commitment to providing the best offering to clients throughout the principality.'
