Suspect in buy-and-sell theft arrested
Waterloo Regional Police are once again reminding the public about the risks of buy-and-sell websites after a reported theft in Kitchener.
They said the victim arranged to meet a buyer to sell jewelry on Sunday. When the two met at their arranged location, the suspect allegedly asked to hold the item before buying it. Once the suspect had the item in hand, he ran away with it.
Police found the suspect close by and after a brief chase, they arrested him.
An 18-year-old man from Woodstock was charged with theft over $5,000.
