Forvia's cost and cash discipline drives near 8% rise in H1 core profit
July 28 (Reuters) - France-based car parts supplier Forvia ( opens new tab reported a 7.8% rise in its half-year core profit on Monday, led by cost cuts. Forvia's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew to 1.76 billion euros ($2.07 billion)in the first half of 2025, from 1.64 billion a year earlier. It said tariffs had no material impact thanks to effective counter measures, including strict cost and cash discipline, but they had delayed tenders especially in North America. Forvia booked new orders worth 14 billion euros in the first half, compared to 15 billion a year ago. It still confirmed its full-year 2025 guidance. Stellantis ( opens new tab announced mid-July the termination of its hydrogen fuel cell technology development program, impacting its SYMBIO joint venture with Forvia and Michelin ( opens new tab that relies on the carmaker for more than 80% of its business. "Forvia booked a non-cash depreciation of the financial assets related to the joint venture, consolidated under equity method, for 136 million euros," the group said in a statement. Valeo cuts 2025 sales outlook, sees forex impact of 750 million euros
July 24 (Reuters) - French car parts supplier Valeo ( opens new tab cut its 2025 sales outlook on Thursday, citing an adverse currency impact of 750 million euros. The designer and producer of car components and integrated systems now expects sales of around 20.5 billion euros ($24.1 billion) this year, down from the 21.5-22.5 billion euros it forecast previously.

German car parts maker Bosch to cut up to 1,100 jobs
FRANKFURT, July 22 (Reuters) - German car parts maker Bosch will cut up to 1,100 jobs by 2029 and restructure its Reutlingen plant as a rapidly worsening auto market drives down sales, a senior company official said on Tuesday. Bosch will focus the plant mainly on manufacturing semiconductors, as making electronic control units is no longer competitive, a statement said. "The European market for control units is highly price-driven and fiercely contested by new entrants," said Bosch's executive vice president of semiconductor operations, Dirk Kress. "The necessary job cuts are not easy for us, but they are urgently needed to secure the future of the site." Bosch employs around 10,000 people in Reutlingen. German and European auto makers have come under pressure from high costs and ferocious foreign competition, as well as a tariff war between the United States and its global trading partners.
