Toronto police locate missing person after searching west end neighbourhood

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Christopher Katsarov TORONTO — A vulnerable 62-year-old man who hadn't been seen since the weekend has been found safe, police say. The man was reported missing after being last seen in the Weston Road and Black Creek Drive area at around noon on Saturday. Police previously said that the man lived with cognitive impairments and that they were growing concerned for his safety. He was located sometime on Tuesday afternoon after police set up a command post on Weston Road to aid in their search.

Toronto police searching for missing man last seen near Mount Dennis on Saturday
Police are looking for a missing man last seen on Saturday near Toronto's Mount Dennis neighbourhood. The 62-year-old man, whose first name is Horace, was last seen in a video that captured him walking northbound on Weston Road near Eglinton Avenue West at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Toronto police said in a release Tuesday. Police said Horace has cognitive impairments and may be confused. He will likely respond to his name if approached. Police did not provide the man's last name. Officers are concerned for his safety. Horace is described as five feet nine inches tall, with a medium build and short grey and black hair. He was last seen wearing a blue and white plaid shirt with a white t-shirt underneath, brown striped shorts, and beige sandals with white socks, police said. Police have released the video of Horace walking in the Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West area.
