Brydie Colquhoun on her debut choreographic work
Brydie Colquhoun is one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most captivating Maori contemporary dance artists, teachers, and practitioners. After graduating from New Zealand School of Dance in 2012 , she has had a stellar career so far, including performing natioanlly and internationally. Rongo Whakapa is Brydie's debut choreographic work and explores themes of connection, presence, and the tension between individualism and collective community. Performed this Friday to Sunday at Te Pou Theatre Corban Estate Arts Centre in Auckland, Rongo Whakapa is presented by the Atamira Dance Company, Brydie spoke to Culture 101.
