CEO in Coldplay Concert Controversy Resigns From Astronomer
Astronomer CEO Andy Byron has resigned after he was seen intimately embracing the company's chief human resources officer, Kristin Cabot, during Coldplay's concert in Boston on Wednesday. Their moment at Gillette Stadium was caught on the jumbotron. 'As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,' the company said in a statement on Saturday. 'The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.' 'Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI,' Astronomer added. 'While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not,' Astronomer concluded its statement. 'We're continuing to do what we do best: helping our customers with their toughest data & AI problems.' Byron's resignation comes less than 24 hours following Astronomer's announcement that Byron and Cabot were both put on leave and that the incident was being professionally investigated. (Attempts to reach Byron and Cabot were unsuccessful.) On Friday, Astronomer issued a statement announcing its Board of Directors had 'initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly,' adding: 'Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.' On Wednesday during Coldplay's show, the duo looked to be caught off-guard when the embrace incident was seen by more than 50,000 people at Gillette Stadium. Their immediate reaction was to duck and turn away from the camera and leaving the frame, which likely led to the speculation and suspicions over their non-professional-appearing relationship. Coldplay's shows feature 'The Jumbotron Song,' where Martin riffs about whomever is captured on the camera. In a clip filmed during the incident, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked from the stage: 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.' Astronomer CEO resigns after viral Coldplay concert incident
Andy Byron, the chief executive of New York-based tech company Astronomer, has resigned from his role after he was spotted embracing an employee at a Coldplay concert, according to a statement shared with CNN on Saturday. Astronomer's board of directors accepted Byron's resignation and will begin searching for its next CEO, according to the statement. Following the viral video of Byron, alleged statements from Byron acknowledging the situation began to circulate online. Astronomer said in an earlier LinkedIn post that Byron 'has not put out any statement' and 'reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.' That statement also addressed the misidentification of a third person seen in the clip circulating on the internet in the day following the video's release. CNN was unable to contact Byron for comment. On Wednesday, Byron was seen with Kristin Cabot, the company's chief people officer, on the 'kiss cam' screen at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, before both ducked out of view. 'As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,' the company said Saturday. The data operations company, which was founded in 2018, acknowledged that 'awareness of our company may have changed overnight,' but its mission would continue to be focused on addressing data and artificial intelligence problems. The company on Friday said Astronomer's co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy would serve as interim CEO. Byron's LinkedIn account is no longer public and he was removed from the company's leadership page following the announcement, which now lists co-founder DeJoy as CEO. Byron is still listed on the company's website as a member of the board of directors. This story has been updated with additional content.

CEO of Astronomer resigns after viral kiss cam video
July 19 (Reuters) - The CEO of the technology firm Astronomer Inc. has resigned after being caught canoodling on camera at a rock concert with a woman who was not his wife, the company said on Saturday. The company posted a written statement on its LinkedIn profile stating that its leaders "are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met." The statement said that Andy Byron had offered his resignation as CEO and that the board of directors had accepted it. Byron had been placed on leave on Friday, and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy is serving as the interim CEO. Byron and Astronomer's chief people officer Kristin Cabot were caught on camera at the Coldplay concert on Wednesday in Massachusetts in an awkward clip that quickly went viral. A spokesman for the company said that the pair were the only employees of the firm caught on camera. The spokesman did not respond to a request for comment on Cabot's job status. Once Byron and Cabot realized they were being shown on a jumbo screen inside Gillette Stadium as they embraced, Byron ducked out of sight and Cabot covered her face with her hands and spun around. Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin responded by saying "either they're having an affair or they're just very shy." Internet sleuths immediately went to work and identified Byron and Cabot by their social media profiles before the company confirmed their identities.

Chief executive of Astronomer Andy Byron resigns after Coldplay concert video
The chief executive of tech firm Astronomer has resigned after a video appearing to show two of its senior members of staff embracing at a Coldplay concert went viral. The tech firm said chief executive Andy Byron had tendered his resignation, and that the board of directors had accepted it. "As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding," the company said in a statement. "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. "The board will begin a search for our next chief executive as co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO." The firm previously said Mr Byron, who was alleged to be the man in the clip, had been placed on leave, but stopped short of confirming it was him in the video. In the viral clip, the pair are shown on a screen with their arms around each other during the British band's concert at the Gillette Stadium, in Boston, Massachusetts on 16 July. Once both of them realised they were being projected, the man quickly ducks out of view while the woman turns to hide her face from the camera. Appearing to poke fun at the couple, lead singer Chris Martin is heard on the clip saying: "Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy." The awkward encounter sent the internet into a frenzy, with the video gaining millions of views on social media and reports emerging that the two were executives from New York-based tech company Astronomer. In a previous statement on Friday, the company addressed the viral moment, saying in a post on X that it had launched a "formal investigation" into the matter. "The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly," it said. Read more from Sky News: The company also said Mr Byron had not commented on the matter after a fake statement claiming to be from him began circulating online. Astronomer also did not identify the woman in the clip.
