Mount Eliza: $10m+ grand country estate hits market

Fourteen years ago the owners of the grand country estate, Fenton Park, fell in love with the property. 'I still remember walking down the front driveway before even stepping inside – we instantly fell in love,' they say. 'There was just something about the setting, the sense of arrival, the feeling that this was home.' A rural oasis set on 8.9ha, the property features an in-ground pool, floodlit tennis court, five paddocks, a dam, ornamental pond, barn and five-bedroom residence all set behind the electronic wrought iron gates, at the end of a tree-lined driveway. 'This place gave us the lifestyle we dreamed of,' the vendors say. 'Summer days were spent around the pool; we got into horses, welcomed new arrivals, both four-legged and two-legged, and built the stables and fencing ourselves.' The natural surroundings have also provided a sense of serenity and relaxation for the family. 'What's unique is the way the home is positioned toward the front of the block, you don't realise how expansive it is until you step out the back. 'There's a full track that loops around the property, roughly a kilometre in length, and I walk it every morning. 'The wetlands at the rear attract beautiful birdlife, and the sunsets out there are nothing short of spectacular,' they say. 'The privacy, the greenery, the bushland that surrounds the home. You can hear the birds, not the traffic.' The Mount Eliza location, only minutes to the private schools, beaches, and the village, is convenient and helps create a balanced lifestyle for all family members. 'Mt Eliza offers a unique blend of village charm and country atmosphere,' the vendors say. 'It's that slower, more grounded way of living surrounded by nature, horses, and space, yet just minutes from the beach, leading private schools, and within easy reach of Melbourne. You truly get the best of both worlds here.' The home itself, built in 1988, offers period elegance with open fireplaces, Victorian-style bay windows, French doors, a turret ceiling, a stunning entrance hall, a sweeping staircase and polished timber benchtops and floorboards. Featuring four living areas, five bedrooms, a private library or study, a billiards room, and an attic studio, the light-filled home is spacious and grand. 'It has that classic character,' the vendors say. 'A true country home feel with soaring 6-metre ceilings and warm, welcoming spaces. There's room for everyone with multiple living zones and enough space for a billiard table, table tennis, and more. It's a statement home.' Homes and Acreage, Balnarring agent Grant Perry has listed the 8.9ha estate at 60 Grant Rd, Mount Eliza, with price hopes from $9.5m to $10.45m.

Gogglebox's Amy Tapper looks slimmer than ever as she shows off 6st weight loss in floral dress at wedding

GOGGLEBOX favourite Amy Tapper looked absolutely incredible this weekend as she joined loved ones for a wedding. The 25-year-old, who revealed in April she has lost six stone in a lifestyle overhaul, stunned in a baby blue floral dress as she joined her family for the event. 6 6 6 Showing off her new figure, Amy posed alongside friends and her sister-in-law, Hannah, as she spent the weekend at a fancy country estate with the sun out for the big day. Wearing her curly brown hair in a loose up-do, Amy couldn't stop smiling and looked happier than ever. She later shared pictures of the bride and groom, saying the pair had 'put a ring on it'. Amy has been sharing her weight-loss journey on her Instagram account, and in April posted a video of her in tears as she stepped on scales and realised she'd achieved a six-stone weight loss goal. After deciding to focus on her health and wellbeing, Amy – who is famed for spending nights in on the sofa with her family for Gogglebox – decided to hire a personal trainer to help her switch up her lifestyle. Amy was on Gogglebox from 2013 to 2018 alongside her mum and dad, Nikki and Jonathan, as well as her brother Josh. The family remain standout stars from the show's run. However, Amy found herself and her loved ones becoming increasingly targeted by online trolls about her weight. 'My dad and I would both get nasty comments about our weight and I'd also get people criticising my voice for being too loud,' she told Daily Mail in 2022. 'It was quite upsetting. There were people on Twitter calling us 'the fat family from Gogglebox' but my mum and my brother have never had any problems with their weight.' Over the past three years, Amy has been growing in confidence as she embraced her curvy figure while also finding exercise she enjoys. Through her social media updates, Amy has revealed a love of boxing exercises as well as a close bond with Tash, the trainer who has helped her turn her life around. At the end of last year, Amy shared that she had lost 'the most amount of weight of her life' and said: 'My head space going into 2025 compared to 2024 is incomparable and I'm so proud of everything I've achieved this year.' Since then, she has been keeping it up, posting life updates from family events as well as her continued weight loss journey. In April, a video taken in her living room saw her break down in tears after stepping on the scale. She wrote alongside it: 'Wow wow wow 6 stone down!! I cannot believe it - I am so proud of myself… I promise I will share more of my journey soon there's just so much to say I'm figuring out my best way to do it. Here's to the next stone and more😍❤️ '@ you are not only my personal trainer but truly a friend and more like a therapist - I couldn't do any of this without you and your ongoing support, thank you for everything' 6 6 6

The £58m estate made from paper, now home to a Formula 1 winner

Laverstoke Park is one of England's finest country estates, but there's a good chance you've never heard of it. That's in large part because none of it is open to the public and it has been a private home for its entire existence, mainly for the family who built it nearly 300 years ago. The sprawling 1,800-acre estate is on the market for only the second time, in its entirety for £58 million, or as three separate lots with the estate agencies Savills and Knight Frank. The grade II* listed manor house is on sale for £32 million, with 279 acres of parkland and six estate houses and cottages thrown in. All this is tucked away discreetly between two bucolic villages, Overton and Whitchurch, in

Jeremy Vine: Can an AI Agatha Christie help me to write a crime bestseller?

Simeon Lee was my first murder victim. He died brutally. He had — foolishly, in my view — invited members of his family to his country estate. A controlling and domineering man, he told his relatives he was rewriting his will. They seethed with resentment. He went to his study and locked the door. Then there was a loud racket, the sound of struggle in the room. When the door was forced open, Lee lay dead in a huge pool of blood. The only clue was a small piece of rubber on the floor. I didn't kill him. He died in Agatha Christie's novel Hercule Poirot's Christmas. If you were hooked by the first two paragraphs of this article, you have the makings of an
