Parkrun cancelled after runner finds dead body in recreation ground near Cheltenham Racecourse
A PARKRUN has been cancelled at the last minute after a dead body was discovered on the grounds, close to Cheltenham Racecourse. The running event in Pittville Park, Cheltenham, was called off after a jogger made the tragic discovery this morning, shortly before 9am. Police were called and a cordon was put in place in the surrounding area. A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "A scene guard is in place at Pittville Park in Cheltenham this morning (Saturday 12 July) following a sudden death. "We were called at 8.50am with a report that a body had been discovered by a member of the public. "The death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious at this time." Parkrun organisers made a post on Facebook this morning that confirmed the cancellation of the event - which was due to begin at 9am. It read: "Due to unforeseen circumstances in the park we had to cancel Cheltenham parkrun this morning. Spokane County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate deceased person found in Spokane River
Jun. 13—Spokane County Sheriff's detectives and the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the discovery of a dead body found in the Spokane River. Around 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office received notice of a possible dead person in the water near the Upriver Dam. The body appeared to have been in the water for some time, and the person's identity, along with cause and manner of death, have not been confirmed. Once identification has been made and the next of kin notified, the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office will release the person's name.

Man charged with interference with dead body following incident in Toronto's east end: police

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Spencer Colby A 67-year-old man is facing charges for improperly interfering with a dead body following an incident in Toronto's east end. Police say that officers were dispatched to a residence near Larchmount Avenue and Queen Street East on Monday afternoon for a wellbeing call. Investigators say that a deceased person was located at the scene and another individual inside the residence was arrested. Bobby Choi Yin Kwan, 67, of Toronto, has been charged with improper/indecent interference with a dead body. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. Police say the cause of death remains unclear and that a post-mortem examination will be conducted. 'Residents can expect a police presence for the next few days,' police said in an email to CP24.

Person found dead in water along San Francisco waterfront near Exploratorium
A dead body was found in the water in San Francisco on Tuesday morning along the Embarcadero north of the Ferry Building, authorities said. The San Francisco Fire Department said on a social media post at 8:22 a.m. that 911 was called for a reported person in the water at Pier 15 next to the Exploratorium at the foot of Green Street. Bay Rescue: 911 was called for a reported person in the water at Pier 15 SFFD and SFPD arrived to find 1 person deceased. The city's medical examiner was called to the scene. There was no immediate word on the person's identity or cause of death.
