Worcestershire County Council HQ recommended for disposal
A report about the future of Worcestershire County Council's HQ has recommended the site for disposal. County Hall in Worcester has been left vacant since June 2024, with staff working remotely or from other council report recommended, in principle, the building to be disposed, excluding the land required for car parking. It has recommended a relocation of the Council's Data Centre to Pershore Civic Centre, which it states as being the most "cost effective" option. The report comes after the cabinet agreed in February that County Hall was surplus to the current needs of the the process of closing County Hall can take place, the report sets out a phased approach, including securing alternative provision for the Record Office, resupplying gas and electricity services to the Countryside Centre, and arrangements for the relocation of remaining services still being run from County Robert Wharton said: "County Hall has served the council and the county's residents for many years but it is right that we now consider how best to use this site in a way that reflects our current and future needs."This report provides a clear and considered approach to relocating remaining services, decommissioning the site responsibly, and exploring a range of viable options for redevelopment."Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet is set to discuss the matter on 17 July.A separate report on Worcester Secondary Education Sufficiency, is also to be considered by cabinet with a proposal to use the site to help meet local demand for secondary school places. Press release June 12th, 2025 Clariane completes its plan to strengthen its financial structure with the disposal of its Petits-fils home care services network Paris, June 12th, 2025 – Clariane ( – ISIN FR0010386334), announces today the signing of an agreement for the disposal of its Petits-fils network to Crédit Agricole Santé & Territoires for a gross disposal value of €345 million. Subject to the fulfillment of customary conditions precedent, the closing of this transaction is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2025. The disposal of the Petits-fils network, the terms of which were set following a competitive process, completes, six months ahead of schedule, the implementation of the plan announced by Clariane on 14 November 2023 to strengthen its financial structure. This plan included an asset disposal programme worth a gross amount of €1 billion. The various operating assets sold under this programme were sold on good terms, with an average EBITDA multiple of c.14x, helping to strengthen the company's balance sheet. Founded in 2007, Petits-fils is now recognized for the high-quality home services it provides to elderly people, offering independent living, meal assistance, home care, support, and administrative assistance. When it was acquired by Clariane in November 2018, Petits-fils operated a national franchise network of 58 branches. Six years later, in 2024, Petits-fils now has a network of 292 branches serving close to 39,000 people in France. These contributed €56 million to Clariane Group revenue in 2024. Crédit Agricole Santé & Territoires' acquisition of Petits-fils will enable Petits-fils to continue its development path by benefiting from Crédit Agricole Santé & Territoires' strong local presence. Clariane and Crédit Agricole Santé & Territoires are also considering entering into a country-wide service partnership to enable patients and their carers to find the local care solutions best suited to their needs. What's that noise? CFB Borden holds controlled explosion operations

Residents may hear loud bangs near Canadian Forces Base Borden this week, but don't worry, it's all part of a planned operation. Military personnel with the Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot (CFAD) in Angus will be carrying out controlled explosions on the base Wednesday and Thursday as part of routine disposal work. The detonations are scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on both days. Llanelli: Man arrested after bomb disposal squad called
Five roads have been partially closed after explosive disposal specialists were sent to a property in a Carmarthenshire Police said it was carrying out a warrant at New Dock Road, Llanelli, with a 100m (382ft) cordon around the area in place for public safety.A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of offences under The Explosive Substances Act and remains in force said an Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit is currently at the scene, with residents who live within the cordon told not to return to their homes.
