Pit Bull's Attempt to Avoid Leaving Grandma's House Is Just Too Cute
Pit Bull's Attempt to Avoid Leaving Grandma's House Is Just Too Cute originally appeared on Parade Pets. Extended family members hold a special place in our fur babies' hearts. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends are a part of our pooches' tribe — sometimes they even have favorites. Zara the Pit Bull is obviously a big fan of her Grandma and apparently puts up a fuss when her visiting time comes to an end. In the TikTok from @zarathepit, Zara was spending some time at Grandma's house and pretended not to hear the call that it was time to go home. "My dog hides every time we have to leave Nana's house," the onscreen text revealed as Zara darted throughout the house trying to go unnoticed. Zara walked down the hall, minding her own business while checking behind her to see if she was being followed. Then the covert canine attempted to hide in the kitchen, finding cover under the kitchen table. She tried avoiding eye contact but knew she was cornered. The innocent look on the precious Pittie's face seemed to be saying, "Can't we stay just a few more minutes?" Grandparents have a reputation of spoiling their grandkids with special treats, extra snuggles, and basically a "carte blanche" rule in their home. Zara's refusal to leave hints that she enjoys this type of treatment at Nana's can speculate that Zara gets a lot of affection from her Grandma. Just like with humans, dogs release oxytocin — referred to as the "love hormone" — when they interact with humans. Snuggling, petting, and even eye contact with their loved ones sets off this hormone in dogs which strengthens their bond and warm feelings of affection. Our relationship with our dogs is a two-way street. Humans also release this hormone when they're with their fur babies and reap the benefits of this loving relationship. Canines express love in a variety of ways. Greeting you with excitement, snuggling and seeking affection, nuzzling with kisses, eye contact, asking to play, following you around — these are all signs of your fur baby's love. And it's the best! Hopefully Zara got to spend a few extra minutes with her Grandma! 🐶🐾🐾 Pit Bull's Attempt to Avoid Leaving Grandma's House Is Just Too Cute first appeared on Parade Pets on Jul 8, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jul 8, 2025, where it first appeared.

Excited Pit Bull Can't Wait to Greet New Human Sibling for First Time in Precious Video
Bringing home baby is an exciting time for all, even your precious pup. After all, they've been there throughout pregnancy to comfort and reassure when it all feels like too much. The first introduction between your fur child and human newborn is an important one, and one darling Pit Bull named Rocky not understood the assignment, but passed with flying colors. Talk about love at first sight! The sweet pup couldn't wait for Mom to lower the carrier so he could get a better sniff at his newest companion. Though it's only a 14-second clip, the precious Pittie's ears are back to show he's not a threat, and the lip-licking is pure adrenaline the good boy is trying so hard to stifle. To top things off, that happy, little tail wag is a sure sign of things to come. That pup knows the baby is precious cargo and he'll do anything to protect her from that moment forward. Some noted this angel's coat coloring looks like he got all dressed up in a tux for this special first date, while others tried to guess what he might've been thinking."I feel like his internal monologue is 'be cool be cry don't cry,'" one person wrote. Another added, "look, Mom had her puppy. I'm a big brother now," which feels right! Others noted how Rocky only had eyes for Mom as if she's his baby and he's so proud of her and yeah, that brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it! It's a shame there aren't any other videos of Rocky, especially how he's fulfilling his brotherly duties, but that 14 seconds is enough to know who this boy is—a total sweetheart who'd do anything for Mom, and now, anything for his baby sister! 🐶🐾🐾 Excited Pit Bull Can't Wait to Greet New Human Sibling for First Time in Precious Video first appeared on Parade Pets on May 24, 2025

I'm a vet – the 10 secret signs your dog really loves you, and it's good news if they always jump up
Roisin Chapman, Lifestyle Reporter Published: Invalid Date, EVERY dog owner has a special bond with their pooch, and now experts have revealed the tell-tale signs your pet loves you. From the classic tail-wagging to mimicking their human, canines show their affection in a number of ways. While sometimes it might feel as though your furry friend is more interested in the treats you supply or the walks you take them on, animal experts have revealed they do in fact love you. And there's 10 ways you can confirm your special bond. Natasha Watson, who works as a vet at Vetfone, spoke to the Daily Mail about the signs that your pooch is obsessed with you. "Dogs have a unique way of expressing their love and affection," she explained. "From wagging their tails to giving you gentle cuddles, their actions speak volumes. "They are very social animals who are great at understanding human emotions and will often learn to mirror them. "By recognising the signs your dog shows to let you know just how much they adore you, you can deepen your bond with your furry companion." WAGGING TAIL If your dogs tail is a blur of wagging when they greet you, this is a sure fire way to tell they love you. A slightly upright side-to-side slow wag may indicate happiness and contentment, according to the canine pro. If you're blessed enough to get a "helicopter" tail - where a dog's tail moves in a rapid, circular motion - then your pooch is more than a little excited to see you. Watch the moment adorable dog makes Crufts history two years after freak accident EYE CONTACT Who among us hasn't stared lovingly into your dog's eyes at one point or another? Dogs who make prolonged eye contact with their owner are said to feel trust and affection in their home. And research has found that when a dog looks at you, it can trigger the release of oxytocin, the "love hormone", in both the dog and the owner. So, if your pooch ever looks at you with gentle eyes, it's a clear sign of their love. 5 PRESENTING WITH TOYS While your dog bringing you a toy might just seem like they want to play, experts say the action is deeper than that. Britain's favourite dog breeds HERE are the top ten dog breeds in the UK.... Labrador Retriever Renowned for their friendly and outgoing nature. Popular as both family pets and working dogs. French Bulldog Known for their distinctive bat-like ears and affectionate temperament. Ideal for city living due to their small size. Cocker Spaniel Beloved for their playful and loyal disposition. Excellent companions for active families. Pug Recognised for their charming wrinkled faces and sociable nature. Adaptable to various living environments. Staffordshire Bull Terrier Valued for their courageous and loving character. Strong and muscular build, yet gentle with children. Dachshund Adored for their distinctive long bodies and lively personality. Comes in a variety of coat types: smooth, wire, and long-haired. Border Collie Celebrated for their intelligence and energy. Excellent working dogs, especially in herding. Golden Retriever Known for their friendly and tolerant attitude. Great family pets and skilled in various service roles. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Cherished for their gentle and affectionate nature. Small size makes them perfect for lap dogs. German Shepherd Admired for their loyalty and versatility. Commonly used in police and military roles due to their trainability. According to research carried out by Tesco Insurance, 31% of dog owners report their pooch sharing their toys with them. Most dogs are good judges of character so you can consider it an honour when they share their prized possessions with you. If your furry friend brings you a toy to play with, then it is a sign that they trust and love you, so make sure to play with them! BEING CLOSE 5 Dogs often cuddle into and lean on people they feel the most comfortable with. So don't be offended when your pups pushes at you with their paws, they're simply petting you back. A total of 39% of dog owners report that their dog will give them cuddles and kisses, with 41% confirming this experience when they are upset. Cuddles bring back feelings of maternal closeness and release pheromones that soothe your dog. THEY FOLLOW YOU Have you ever left the room to have your dog immediately follow you as if you are both embarking on an adventure? Well don't worry about dashing their expectations, because they're likely just showing you affection by shadowing you. This behaviour shows they want to be near you and as a pack animal, this is a dog's sign of attachment or loyalty. However, your dog should still be able to have some alone time while at home. PROTECTIVENESS Dogs are naturally protective of those they love, particularly female dogs with maternal instincts. The canine expert explained that if your dog shows signs of guarding you or their home, this can be a sign of affection. They want to keep you safe and are demonstrating loyalty and love. However, make sure to teach your pooch how to correctly interact with strangers too. 'TALKING' TO YOU We've all wondered whether or not our dogs can truly understand what we're saying to them. Canines communicate with their owners in various ways, with vocalisation being one of them. Many dogs have been known to "talk" to their owners with barks or whines to get attention or express emotions. If your dog barks or makes other excited sounds when they see you, it's another a sign of love and attachment. JUMPING UP 5 Dogs are known to jump up when they are excited or looking for attention. But this is also a common way for them to show their affection. When your dog jumps on you, they may be expressing their joy at seeing you or seeking closeness. Similarly, 45% of dog owners say their pet sits on them when they want attention. TRAINING According to the expert, dogs that respond well to recall and commands are often eager to please their owners. While you may wonder if this obedience is simply a way of receiving a treat, this isn't entirely the case says the vet. You pet's willingness to obey shows trust as well as a desire to make you happy. Training helps to strengthen your bond with your dog as they enjoy positive reinforcement and the satisfaction of making you proud. So next time they come back when called or do another trick, make sure to show the same love back to them. MIRRORING EMOTIONS 5 Dogs are known to empathetic creatures and may often mimic their owner's emotions. This, according to the vet, is another sign your pooch loves you. She pointed out that your pet may sense when you're upset or happy and adjust their behaviour accordingly. For example, if you're feeling down, your dog might come and sit by you or offer comfort and if you're excited, your pooch will easily get on board with the elation.

Vet reveals the 10 signs your dog really loves you (or if they're just after more treats!)
While owners fawn over their pooches, meeting all their needs and pandering to their every whim, dogs also have distinct ways of showing their humans that they love them. If you've ever wondered whether your beloved Border Collie or gorgeous Golden Retriever has genuine affection for you - and not simply the delicious treats that are on tap - a vet has highlighted 10 behaviours that indicate your dog really loves you. Natasha Watson, a vet at Vetfone - a company which provides round the clock support for pet owners via telephone or video call - explained: 'Dogs have a unique way of expressing their love and affection. 'From wagging their tails to giving you gentle cuddles, their actions speak volumes. They are very social animals who are great at understanding human emotions and will often learn to mirror them. 'By recognising the signs your dog shows to let you know just how much they adore you, you can deepen your bond with your furry companion.' Read below for the 10 signs that show your dog loves you: 1. A waggy tail greeting While dogs use their tail to communicate many different emotions, a slightly upright side-to-side slow wag may indicate happiness and contentment, according to Natasha. If your dog greets you when you walk in the room with this kind of happy tail wag, that's a clear sign that they love you and are happy to see you. And if you get a 'helicopter' tail - where a dog's tail moves in a rapid, circular motion - then they are more than a little excited to see you. 2. Eye contact Dogs that feel trust and affection toward their owners often make prolonged eye contact. Research has found that when a dog looks at you, it can trigger the release of oxytocin, the 'love hormone,' in both the dog and the owner. So, when your dog looks at you with gentle eyes, it's a clear sign of their love. 3. They present you with toys According to research carried out by Tesco Insurance, 31 per cent of dog owners report that their pup shares their toys with them. Most dogs are good judges of character so if your furry companion brings you a toy to play with, then it is a sign that you have reached an unconditional level of trust and love with them. 4. Being close Dogs will cuddle in and lean on people they feel comfortable with. In fact, 39 per cent of dog owners report that their pup will shower them with cuddles and kisses - and this rises to 41 per cent when owners are upset. This is because cuddles bring back feelings of maternal closeness and release pheromones that soothe the dog. 5. They follow you If your dog follows you from room to room, they're likely showing affection. This behaviour signifies that they want to be near you and, since dogs are naturally pack animals, it's a sign of attachment or loyalty. Whilst this can be cute, your dog should still be able to have some alone time. 6. Protectiveness Dogs are naturally protective of those they love. Natasha explains that if your dog shows signs of guarding you or their home, it can be a sign of affection. They want to keep you safe and are demonstrating loyalty and love. 7. 'Talking' to you Dogs communicate with their owners in various ways, and vocalisations are one of them, according to vet Natasha Watson. While some breeds are more vocal than others, many dogs will 'talk' to their owners with barks or whines to get attention or express emotions. If your dog barks or makes sounds when they see you or during moments of excitement, it could be a sign of love and attachment. 8. Jumping up While jumping up can sometimes be seen as a sign of excitement or a way to get attention, it's also a common way dogs show affection. When your dog jumps on you, they may simply be expressing their joy at seeing you or seeking closeness. Similarly, almost half (45 per cent) of dog owners say their furry companion sits on them when they want attention. 9. Recall and training Natasha says that dogs that respond well to recall and commands are often eager to please their owners. Their willingness to obey shows trust and a desire to make you happy. Training strengthens your bond as dogs enjoy the positive reinforcement and the satisfaction of making you proud. Your dog wants to please you as well as receive their reward so next time they come back when called, give them an extra special ear rub. 10. Mirroring your emotions Dogs are remarkably empathetic creatures. If your dog mirrors your emotions, it's a sign they love you. Natasha points out that they may sense when you're upset or happy and adjust their behaviour accordingly. For instance, if you're feeling down, your dog might come and sit by you or offer comfort.
