Photo released of suspect wanted in double shooting outside Bronx smoke shop

The NYPD on Sunday released a surveillance photo of a man wanted in a double shooting outside a Bronx smoke shop that left two men — possibly brothers — clinging to life. The victims, ages 40 and 30, were standing outside the smoke shop on Dyre Ave. near Light St. in Baychester — near the last stop on the No. 5 subway line — when a gunman opened fire about 7:45 p.m. Friday after an argument, cops said. 'It was the two brothers hanging out in front of the smoke shop,' a witness told the Daily News Friday. 'The guy came across the street shooting. He hit both of them, one in the neck. He was bleeding bad. It looked like he was going to die.' Medics rushed both men to Jacobi Medical Center, where they were in critical condition. Police couldn't confirm if the men were brothers Sunday. The shooter fled south on Dyre Ave., police said. Though cops initially took a man into custody no one has been charged in the shooting. Cops are asking the public's help identifying the suspect in the surveillance photo and tracking him down. He is described as about 6-feet with dark complexion and was wearing short-sleeved multicolored shirt, black pants and yellow-and-black sneakers. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
