TDT| Manama With just over a week left to go, Bahrain's Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has reminded innovators, government entities, private firms, and individuals to submit their entries for the 2025 edition of the eGovernment Excellence Award before the deadline on Sunday, July 13th. The award recognises outstanding digital initiatives across the Kingdom and has become a leading national platform to highlight innovation, digital transformation, and public service enhancement. Categories across sectors This year's award categories reflect Bahrain's evolving digital priorities. Public and private entities can compete in categories including Best Website, Best Practice in eParticipation, Best Integrated eServices, Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation, Best Utilization of Artificial Intelligence, and Best Project for Digital Transformation. In addition, the private sector has a dedicated category for Best Applications for Smart Devices, while individuals can compete for the Best Digital Initiative Award. The iGA noted that the deadline extension was granted in response to participant requests, allowing extra time for applicants to meet submission requirements. Entries must be submitted through the official portal at Showcasing innovation By spotlighting digital projects that improve the quality and accessibility of public services, the award serves as a reflection of Bahrain's long-term digital vision. It not only recognises high-impact technologies but also positions the Kingdom's achievements on regional and global stages.

iGA Conducts Introductory Workshops for the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025

In line with the official launch of the 13th edition of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) organized two virtual introductory workshops in Arabic and English languages, targeting participants from public & Private sector organizations, Non-government organizations (NGOs) and individuals. The workshops aimed at familiarizing potential participants with the award's categories, evaluation criteria, and participation guidelines, while addressing participants' inquiries related to the award and submission process which is open until 28 June 2025. The iGA stated that these workshops are in line with iGAs efforts towards reinforcing the public awareness on the award, highlighting the significance of the eGovernment Excellence Award and its role in nurturing innovation, supporting digital transformation, and enhancing service quality delivered to citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The award is also inline with with government directives to achieve excellence, boost competitiveness, improve quality of life, and promote Bahrain's ICT regionally and globally. The iGA also emphasized that the workshops are part of iGA's awareness campaign aimed at encouraging participation and the submission of innovative digital initiatives and projects through an interactive platform for dialogue, questions, and knowledge exchange. During the workshops, participants were introduced to award details and registration processes. Sessions covered this year's award categories, including Public and Private Sector Category: Best Website, Best Practice in eParticipation, Best Integrated eServices, Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation, Best Project for Digital Transformation, Best Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Best Applications for Smart Devices (dedicated to private sector & NGOs), and a category for individuals for Best Digital Initiative, which encourages proposals for outstanding digital initiatives or ideas. TDT| Manama iGA launches eGovernment Excellence Award 2025 The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has announced the opening of submissions for the 13th edition of the eGovernment Excellence Award, a national competition recognising digital innovation across public, private, and non-profit sectors. Entries will be accepted from Wednesday until June 28 via the official award platform Participants are invited to showcase their best practices, platforms, applications, and ICT initiatives that advance digital transformation. Diverse categories This year's awards span multiple categories, including Best Website, Best Practice in eParticipation, Best Integrated eServices, and Best Applications for Smart Devices. Other honours include Best Project for Digital Transformation, Best Utilisation of Artificial Intelligence, and Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation. A Citizen Award also invites individuals to submit creative digital ideas or initiatives that enhance eServices or improve access and usability for the public. Submissions must be new entries that did not win in the 2023 edition. Focus on innovation iGA officials noted that the awards reflect the Kingdom's commitment to fostering a culture of digital excellence and innovation. The Best AI Utilisation category, for example, highlights how organisations use artificial intelligence to enhance operations. Similarly, the Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation award celebrates policies and internal cultures that enable creative, future-ready solutions in institutions. Private sector entities and NGOs can compete in the Smart Devices App category, in support of the national initiative to streamline digital services across the MyGov, AlTajir, and Bahrain mobile applications. A dedicated information session will be held soon for interested applicants, with the date and venue to be announced by the iGA. Participants are encouraged to review eligibility criteria and category requirements on the award site before submission.
