B&M has slashed the price of its New York Corner Set by £75, a saving of 21%. Top gardening trends of 2025 Gardening experts at Barnsdale Gardens has shared the top gardening trends of 2025. Matrix planting It seems that a top planting trend for this year is going to be Matrix Planting. In essence, planting in groups or blocks to give an effect of being wild whilst actually being carefully managed. Selection of the plants is essential, to give year-round interest either with flowers, seed heads or frosted/snowy spent flower heads. Some recommend using plants that seed around, but this could make managing your matrix planting harder to keep under control. Chrysanthemum comeback I hope that the humble Chrysanthemum makes as much of a comeback this year as Dahlias have over recent years, because the simple single flowered types, such as 'Innocence' and 'Cottage Apricot' would be spectacular within a matrix scheme. The hardy varieties are so easy to grow in a sunny spot and give such a valuable burst of late summer and autumn colour that would lift any dull- looking border. Blended borders For some time now we have been promoting the growing of veg within ornamental borders and I think this could really take off this year. The choice of ornamental-looking varieties available in seed catalogues is phenomenal and, if managed correctly, visitors to your garden will not even realise that you have veg growing! Must-have tool My secret is out. I discovered the Hori Hori a couple of years ago and now it seems so is everyone else. It is such a well-made, adaptable tool that can be used as a trowel or weeding tool in the garden that and everyone I speak to who have used it absolutely would not now be without it. Enough said! The sofa set, which was originally priced at £350, has now been reduced to £275. Tesco shoppers are currently rushing to stores to buy stunning "reduced to clear" garden furniture that's up to 40% off. Shoppers can get their hands on the Outsunny Foldable Sun Lounger that comes with a side pocket and headrest for £23.19. Reduced from £28.99, this lounger is great for relaxing outdoors. The side panels have been reduced to £25.59 and come in two different sizes, both of which have windows to let in that natural light.

Amidst the current hot weather, there's even more of a reason to invest in your garden, and egg chairs have become increasingly popular. Earlier this month our money team spotted a similar deal on a Homebase egg chair that's been reduced from £199.99 to £99.99. Dunelm has put a twist on the look that you usually get with this style of chair, replacing plain wood or rattan with a choice of vibrant colours. Egg chairs are often costly, so if you were hesitant to buy one full price, the £124.50 discount may tempt you for the sunny months ahead. The Santorini Egg Chair has a spacious-looking seat, with a thick, padded cushion to sink into when you're enjoying a drink or curling up with a book. Not all egg chairs are hanging, but with this one you can gently swing as you kick back and relax in the garden. It's not a new addition to Dunelm, but it's remained a bestseller, and has sold out several times. With the UK experiencing a period of hot weather at the moment, the stock has been replenished just in time for the heatwave. As we all know however, it's always essential to be prepared for less favourable conditions. Thankfully the egg chair is weather-resistant thanks to its powder-coated steel frame, which is known to be durable. The egg chairs aren't the only garden furniture deals in the Dunelm sale, as there are hundreds to choose from before the sale ends at midnight on Sunday (June 22). best solar lights for the garden to add to the cosy atmosphere in the evenings. The supermarket you need to visit to nab a HUGE egg chair for just £109 & it'll turn your garden into a relaxing haven
THEY'RE one of the most popular garden items when the hot weather hits. But egg chairs are such a summer favourite that they often sell out in every high street store. 3 3 So it's no wonder that shoppers are racing to their local Tesco, after finding out they can nab one of the viral chairs for just £109. Not only that, but the chair is HUGE. Sammi took to Facebook after purchasing one of the £179 chairs for £109 using her Tesco Clubcard. "You'd need a big car," she added in the post on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group. "We had to unpack in the car park to make it fit!" "Is it comfortable? I saw it today at my Tesco," one person asked in the comments section. "Yess so comfy and bigger than a lot of egg chairs I've seen," Sammi replied. "Also cushion very padded and takes up a lot of the egg, whereas a lot of these chairs have minimal cushion." "I saw this and loved it much nicer shape than the cage like ones elsewhere, but I have no where to put one as I brought the Mrs Hinch ones last year lol!" another admitted. "I need one!" a third gushed. I transformed my garden on a budget and turned it into the Love Island villa - it has a firepit, hot tub and even an egg chair "I can see myself chilling in this!" someone else said. "Bargain!! I love my egg chair which is was that price when I bought it!" another added. "What's the measurements of the box it comes in?" someone else asked. With Sammi replying: "Oh I don't know. I'm sorry we had to abandon the box!" But if you can't get your hands on one of the highly coveted Tesco chairs, it's worth popping along to Morrisons. "I got one for £95 in Morrisons and it has four legs which has made it feel super safe," one wrote. 8 must-have plants to brighten up your garden Nick Hamilton owner of Barnsdale Gardens has shared his favourite plants and flowers you should consider adding to your garden, borders and pots. Tricyrtis A spectacular plant that gives a real exotic feel to any garden with its orchid-like, spotted flowers giving the impression that this plant should be tender but it is 'as tough as old boots!'. Penstemon I love this plants genus of because most will flower all summer and autumn. They'll grow in sun or semi-shade in a well drained soil and produce a non-stop display of tubular flowers in an array of colours and colour combination to suit all tastes. Luzula sylvatica 'Marginata' With the evergreen leaves edged with yellow it's great asset is that it will grow in sun or shade in any type of soil and is great as groundcover in the hardest spot to fill - dry shade. Eryngium x zabelii 'Big Blue' A stunning, nectar-rich plant that will feed the beneficial insects in your garden. Leave the flowerheads once they have turned brown because they look stunning with winter frost and snow, extending the plant's interest period. Sarcococca hookeriana 'Winter Gem' If you need winter scent then look no further than this compact, evergreen shrub. The scent is stunning and the evergreen leaves create an excellent backdrop for the summer flowers. Cornus sanguinea 'Anny's Winter Orange' A dwarf version of 'Midwinter Fire' the very colourful stems create a stunning winter display, particularly on sunny days. Rosa 'Noisette Carnee' A very well-behaved climbing rose that is perfect for training over an arch, pergola or gazebo. The small, 'noisette' flowers are blush-pink and produce the most amazing clove scent constantly from June to November. Sanguisorba hakusanensis 'Lilac Squirrel' I've never seen a squirrel with a drooping, shaggy lilac tail, but this variety will give your garden an unusual and different look throughout summer. It does need a moisture retentive soil but will grow in sun or semi-shade. And when someone else asked if that was a recent purchase, the person replied: "Yes. a couple of weeks ago. "They had some £95 ones and some for £149." "I also got one in Morrisons," another commented. "It was the last of the old model and on the shop floor… got it for £80 because it was on display." "The shop assistant said the new model is virtually the same, the only difference is the box says 'Nutmeg' on it!" someone else wrote. "That was £140."
