Prime Day Deal: Zip Around Town With a Segway Electric Scooter for Just $390
Table of Contents Prime Day Deal: Zip Around Town With a Segway Electric Scooter for Just $390 Electric scooters are a fun and efficient way to get around, but they usually come with a steep price tag. For the July Prime Day sale, Segway is offering a variety of scooters at a sizable discount. My favorite deal going right now is the Ninebot eKickScooter E2 Pro, which Segway has marked down 35%, from $600 to $390. Deals will also be running on Segway's online store through July 20. The Ninebot eKickScooter E2 Pro can reach up to 15.5 miles per hour and has a range of up to 25 miles when in Eco mode (9.3 mph). It also comes with a 2.8-inch dashboard, where you can see stats like the miles remaining on your charge. If you're looking for more of a budget option, Segway has a few cheaper electric scooters on sale, too. If you don't need to go 25 miles in one trip, you can opt for a version with a 16-mile range in Eco mode for $296 this Prime Day. Another good mid-tier option is the Segway Ninebot F2, which is currently on sale for $470, which is down from its usual price of $700. For the $90 extra you'll pay over the E2 Pro, you'll get more speed -- 18 mph over 15.5 mph. The Ninebot F2 and E2 Pro both have a range of 25 miles in Eco mode. Segway has some nice Prime Day deals for younger riders, too, with the C2 eKickScooter ($160) and C2 Pro eKickScooter ($229) available for $40 and $50 off, respectively. These have slower max speeds -- up to 12.4 mph for the C2 Pro -- and lighter weight limits than the adult versions. Why this deal matters Electric scooters are an efficient, fun and green way to get around town, but they usually require a significant investment. If you've been thinking about changing up your weekly commute -- or just adding a scooter day to the mix -- these Segway deals let you get in on the action at a significant discount.

Saskatoon parents launch lawsuit, driver pleads guilty in fatal e-scooter crash
A Saskatoon man was killed when the electric scooter he was riding was struck by an alleged drunk driver. (Noah Rishaug/CTV News) The parents of a 25-year-old Saskatoon man who was hit and killed while riding an electric scooter last summer have filed a lawsuit. Chet and Tera Walker are suing the driver, the scooter company Bird Canada and the city of Saskatoon, alleging negligence. A statement of defence has not been filed. Their son, Austin Walker, was hit and killed on Warman Road near the Circle Drive overpass on June 20, 2024. Walker was on his way home from his friend's house after watching hockey. Chet Walker Chet Walker next to his son's Dalmeny Sabres jersey. (Stacey Hein / CTV News) The driver, Wade Chaboyer, has pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing death and failing to remain at the scene. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 30 under a joint submission. In their lawsuit, the Walkers allege Bird Canada was negligent by allowing scooters to be operated on roads with speed limits over 50 km/h. They claim the city was negligent for 'requiring e-scooter riders to use dangerous roadways' and failed to work with the scooter company to establish 'no-go zones.' The suit further alleges Chaboyer was 'driving at an excessive speed for the conditions' and failed to 'avoid a collision that was foreseeable and preventable.' The allegations have not been tested in court. The family is seeking $60,000 in damages.
